I was there , a Wonderful time , saw them , a Lovely Couple , Jarno was a multi world champion in the making and way ahead of all the rest , GENIUS ON A YAMAHA
I was at Brands Hatch in 1971 and Saarinen was 'drifting' his Yamaha around Druids. Never seen a bike 'drifted ' before, common these days but not then. A wonderful rider who was taken far too soon. RIP.
Best rider I ever seen race, he sat on the line at Mallory when the others did a warm up lap. He won the race by a good distance leaving the JP Nortons & BSA works 750 miles behind. He was a legend in the making and very sadly missed. R I P Jarno, you were an inspiration to many. sarri64, thanks for posting
I'm a tour guide at the Barber Motorcycle museum in Birmingham, AL. I always show the museum visitors Jarno's yellow #10 350 Yamaha that won Daytona (complete with pavement scapes and missing paint). It's positioned within 25 ft from Renzo Pasolini's HD roadracer. Both Jarno and Renzo perished in the same racing accident at Monza.
I saw him win the "Race of the year" at mallory and several races at silverstone,I had photos of everyone sat up breaking hard into Stowe corner, but Jarno at the same spot was flat on the tank with the throttle wide open, :-) wat a rider LEGEND doesn't come close. Sadly missed.
Jarno Saarinen was to Finland what Johnny Cecotto was to Venezuela: they both put their respective countries in the vicinity of motorcycle races, sports that before them did not interest. Do you imagine that they had run in the same category? A pity Saarinen had died so young when he could have won many world championships! Greetings from Venezuela
Hello Saari64! This was a great Video about Jarno; you have spent a lot of time for this; fantastic! On 6.45 I can see the start lap of the 250 cc race at the Grand Prix in Hockenheim; and the last rider at the picture is Börje Jansson. I have this original bike now and I am interesting at this picture in better quality; can you contact me please? Regards Jarnoparoni

La seule chose réconfortante, c'est que ces deux grands pilotes sont morts en vivant leur passion.
I saw him at Oliver’s Mount Scarborough, unbelievable.
I raced and still own the same 250 TD3 Yamaha he raced.
Biggest legend ever! RIP.
What a great racer!
Its a shame he's practically unknown in his own country, damn f1 drivers..
como era bonito o barulho do motor daquelas motos de dois tempos.
Un gran CAMPEÓN

Anche parlato e dato la mano
Amarito e moglie
E un ricordo anche se non
Piacevole
What the hell are you promoting? The motorcycle racer or the loud semirock music? Terrible editing.
