Hey Tim mate, Your videos have been so handy for me at work. Want to thank you for that. Just wondering if you had a video on a powerflex 525, I need motor to start with push button and stop after x amount of impulses from a sensor. Thanks K.H.
That should be possible with the Steplogic but it isn't something that I have ever had an opportunity to play with. Check out page 216, you should be able to tie the relay through your stop button and make it work. Let me know what you find out. literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/um/520-um001_-en-e.pdf
Hey Tim. Fantastic videos. I have a new power flex 525 out of the box. I’m getting motor output voltage around 775 per phase. With or without a motor connected to the drive. Any thoughts?
I should do a video on this sometime but you can't measure the output of a VFD with a typical meter. Use the parameter monitor on the front keypad if you want to know the voltage.
What would you recommend , i am repurposing powerflex 525 that previously was controlled by an HMI , and now need to use the Potentiometer control , should I start by doing a factory reset ?
Hi Tim thanks for the videos, I was looking to see if you have done this yet but could you make a video for controlling the powerflex over Ethernet/IP from a micro800,
How Tim , how can I program a remote reset ? Everytime I download I lose comms and I have to cycle power on the drive. I was told if I program a remote reset I won’t have to cycle power
H Ben. We are going to do some PID tuning of a Powerflex 525 in our PID series. www.theautomationstore.com/pid-proportional-integral-derivative-lessons/
Nice work Tim. Keep it up buddy
Will do!

Well done Tim, Thanks!!
Thanks Al!
Maybe a nice tutorial on how to use the drives dc injection and dynamic breaking would be nice.
It is on the list! Thanks for watching.
Hi tim I was once asked in an interview how do you connect vfd with plc or in other words control a vfd with a plc Could you explain the wiring??
We'll have that video out in a few weeks. Make sure you are subscribed!
Sure
Connect 1 &11.

It is already in the works, stay tuned!

I think the bigger question is why are you downloading parameters so often? This shouldn't be a normal thing that you do.
@@TimWilborne training learning how to use a powerflex.I programmed a reset. It works.
Why when you mesure voltage on UVW on vfd they don't give u 480 or 260. The last time I test iwas getting 3 or 5 vac
I have a video coming on this but it has to do with the VFDs "simulated" sine wave. Your typical meter can only measure a true sine wave accurately.
Love for you to show the autotune the motor

Tim Wilborne I meant like when I install a new motor instead of punching all the motor info does auto tune do it for u?
