- The ORMA Museum is a member of the Valle Trompia Museum System.
Inside the small Broletto di Mondaro is the ORMA Museum, the archaeological museum of Valle Trompia.
The museum space is divided into a three-story itinerary, divided by historical periods. The archaeological materials on display come from the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Brescia and Bergamo and from the Civic Museums of Brescia.
Starting from the ticket office, the visit begins with the section dedicated to the Neolithic, where a female burial and the objects used by the first farmers are visible. Here also opens a small glimpse of the more ancient past, when men were hunters and gatherers skilled in stone working.
On the first floor one discovers the Bronze Age and the Iron Age in the artifacts created by the first metallurgists and, with the aid of interactive systems, one can see unexposed finds, small fragments transformed into vases and with in-depth analysis one can obtain a vision of the occupation of the valley.
The archaeological section leaves room for the more recent past in the figures of three collectors who have contributed to reconstructing the most ancient (Pietro Paolo Cotelli) and more recent (Pier Luigi Piotti and Costanzo Caim) history of the area.
The second floor is reserved for Romanization and the Roman era, with a part dedicated to epigraphs: here the widespread occupation of the territory is revealed, the birth of sanctuaries and the exploitation of resources and how two peoples have become one.
Inside the tower there is instead the ethnographic collection "Costanzo Caim Ethnographic Collection", which brings together numerous work tools dating from the mid-nineteenth century and the first half of the following century, most of which belonged to the Caim family and used by Costanzo Caim, born in 1925 and incarnation of the figure of the farmer-worker, who took care to preserve them following the transfer in 1963 from the native village of Etto di Pezzaze to Villa Carcina.
At the ticket office of the ORMA Museum there is also an infopoint where you can find useful information to better plan your visit to the area.
In 2021 the ArcheoLab was born, a new laboratory space to support the ORMA Museum in Pezzaze.
The video was made by Albatros Film as part of the PIC Geometrie di Valle project with the contribution of the Lombardy Region.
