The main reason for Launch's absence in most of DBZ is because the creator Akira Toriyama forgot how to draw her at the time. As for the furries or rather the "beastmen" as they called it, they're gone because he forgot about it. That creates a lot of plotholes in the anime, but at least the video game helped fill in those plotholes, well sort of.

She uses guns bombs and missles...In a setting where nearly every big bad can project energy, is near immune to bullets, and can generally outpace her. Unless you dramatically gave her an upgrade in options, like make her an android, or give her a mechsuit, her power and relevance is always going to be lower than needed to bring her back into relevance.

it makes me sad to think how the anime left all these characters behind. everything became about the saiyans and nonstop battles. i guess the powerlevel of the saiyans kind of left everyone in the dust and as a consequence all the other characters. makes me wish it didnt happen that way.
I’d like to point out thanks to TFS we all learned to ask the question of whatever happened to Launch. Thanks to the game it’s about as close as well get to proper closure with her unless The manga has her make a surprise appearance. But a man can dream.

My entire experience with Launch has been what little I saw in uncut DBZ.
She sneezes and changes personalities, she's gets drunk and shoots things and MUCH later is seen driving a truck and giving Goku her energy.
I was so deprived.
I love that after all these years and all these games, Sean Shemmel still gives it his all even for little scenes like this

She uses guns bombs and missles...In a setting where nearly every big bad can project energy, is near immune to bullets, and can generally outpace her. Unless you dramatically gave her an upgrade in options, like make her an android, or give her a mechsuit, her power and relevance is always going to be lower than needed to bring her back into relevance.
@@Motleydoll123 power scaling doesnt really matter to much, Bulma and Chi Chi stayed around in Z as did Oolong and Pura. Though they were comic relief. Launch could have easily fit in with Z much like she did in the early Saiyan Saga fillers. If anything its just sad she was forgotten about by Toriyama whe she had a decent sized role in dragonball
It would have been so cool if she was there during the Buu Saga. She could've beaten the holy hell out of that rich fat lady, who was sitting next to the Z crew during the tournament. Also funny seeing King Enma deciding to put her in HFIL or Heaven when Buu killed everyone.

it makes me sad to think how the anime left all these characters behind. everything became about the saiyans and nonstop battles. i guess the powerlevel of the saiyans kind of left everyone in the dust and as a consequence all the other characters. makes me wish it didnt happen that way.
I’d like to point out thanks to TFS we all learned to ask the question of whatever happened to Launch. Thanks to the game it’s about as close as well get to proper closure with her unless The manga has her make a surprise appearance. But a man can dream.
in the buu saga, in one of the last episodes, it is shown that she has her own foodline called the "Lunch Express" which I think is pretty wholesome, considering her history with food
She also showed up in the Tarble story.
It would be very interesting if she appeared as the wife of a Raditz, somehow resurrected, and with a daughter named Ranch and 2 sons named Daikon and Mooli. Like in Dragon Ball R&R.

She certainly aged better than any other female in the show. It's like 30 or 40 years later and she still looks exactly the same. Perhaps she's biologically immortal, or perhaps every time she sneezes and transforms and transforms to one or the other form, it resets her biological clock so she's effectively biologically immortal because all she has to do to be 20 again is to sneeze.
I guess whenever Launch sneezes, her inactive form stops aging until she sneezes again.

Ever since I watched Dragon Ball, I always loved how Tien was able to show the audience that Launch was actually a really nice girl despite her personality changing every time she sneezes
I remember hearing Plague of Gripes saying that Toriyama says that launch keeps working on the farm until she starts to get old, realizes that Tien will never return her feelings, and just leaves. The two never get together.
