I lived in AZ from age 5 to 18. I remember some real bad dust storms as a kid. My mom hated them . We spent days cleaning after these storms. Dust got in every nook and cranny including your mouth and nose. I doubt I would go to Quartzite given a choice. The beauty of the vastness of the desert is ruined by to many people. So sad.
I’m glad you made it there safely! I honestly don’t understand the attraction to this place. Is it because it’s free? Can’t understand why people would want to go there.
Yes, it’s free but also there are a lot of people that know each other here if you’ve got a nice well equipped rig it’s pretty comfortable at least as comfortable as your rig can be
Hi Rick. I am in quartzsite too. We met in green lakes state park a couple summers ago. I used to have an aliner. Name is Mike. We are camped with the hams down at the roadrunner area. You going to be with the youtube presenters on the west side of the big tent tomorrow?
Hi Mike, sorry I missed you. I was in with the hams for a little while looking for an old friend that I used to be a ham with currently we are at Joshua tree national Park. Headed towards Zion.
Sorry to have missed you. We are going to be at joshua tree in a couple weeks. We are headed to agua caliente hot springs county park and then to la area to see relatives before going to Joshua. Going to be at Gilbert rat campground in Tucson around the 15 March for the big book fair they have
they are predicting 2 inchrs of precipatation tonight if it rayns, it might be a beautiful place to be if it snows it might be a place to stay away from
I'm sorry, Rick... the desert CAN be a beautiful place.. especially after a rain. But we've had no rain for 6 months.. Not good! Quartzite USED TO BE a nice place.. but THEY found it.. you know who THEY are... Usually there's just one or two in a campground, but they have flocked here like crows, and have picked the peacefulness and cleanliness right out of the desert!! Your tagline says it all... you've reached NoWHERE.. Please don't judge the rest of AridZona by this! Stay Safe, Enjoy the REST of your trip!!
If someone had paid me, I would’ve known it was gonna be a pretty rotten time, but I went on my own and it was just Ruttin because of I wasn’t ready for it all. The dirt, the cold, the lack of facilities all made it pretty miserable for a couple nights
@GoingNoWhereFast I kept hearing Quartzite this, and Quartzite that. After a while I looked up videos about it because we were thinking of going. Thank goodness we saw those videos! It's hard to imagine a more miserable destination.
Looking forward to seeing Quartzite through your lens!
It should be a unique view of the chaos and camotion that is constant herei

I’m guessing you already know but don’t let Akela dig in the dirt. Apparently it can cause respiratory issues in dogs.
