I actually got this a few weeks ago free with a purchase from Ulta. I had done a lot of research to find a good genes dupe. I found 3 this peach &Lilly,knockout by tarte which has both glycolic and lactic acid and MAC hyper real serum. I bought the knockout and then 2 days later Ulta had the peach & Lilly gift. I believe they are both great. I have not had them long enough to form an opinion on if one is better than the other. Thank you for the video and confirming I found a good dupe. 😊
I'm going to have to give the Peach and Lily a try. I swear, every day when I pump the bottle of Good Genes, and I actually see the product in the bottle go down ... its painful knowing how much I paid for it. I know with their auto correct that there is loads of product left when it looks empty- you have to break into the packaging. May be the same case with their good genes....? Give you a bit more product for your money.
This is simply awesome! Good genes broke me out. I use peach and lily lactic acid and follow it with their glass skin serum. Wow! I know this video is older but I just started using this. The 1st time I used it ( 3 weeks ago ) I used the tiniest amount on the corner of my forehead lol ( I always do this with new products ) I had no bad reaction but because this is a new product for me and it's pretty much my 1st lactic acid product I've decided to use on Sundays only and work my way up. Last week I had to wash it off, I only used it on my forehead but I think I used too much ( I'm not use to this pump bottle yet ) NO BS BEAUTY said you can mix it with your moisturizer to prevent burning/tingling sensation until you get use to it. I'm curious what's the best way to start out using this for newbies ? And if your skin doesn't like Red Algae, would you know early on ? Thank you ❤

Oh I totally understand your hesitation! Those are strong products - and it can be difficult to find the right balance. It is indeed doable, but everyone has a different tolerance level for frequency. So I’d say to not feel like you need one of them every night - you may do best with a night (or a few!) off ☺️

It’s the charlotte tilbury instant eye palette in pillow talk - it’s way more pink on me than it looks in the pans, but that coincidentally works out for me as I love pink eyeshadows haha! And I definitely do: there are tutorials that demo winged liner on more hooded eyes (which tbh I need to start doing as my eye shape is starting to change myself). It’s a very flattering look! And yes, lactic acid is a fantastic ingredient for texture, especially on more sensitive or dry skin types ☺️

Good genes I have never used a product that works so well it lightened my dark spot and brighten my skin it also helped my skin texture. So I'm a little skeptical not because I don't trust you but because it worked so well. I haven't tried the peach and lily. I do have 2 peach and Lily glass refining serum and I wasn't in pressed but I'm going to have to give this a try and see if it works for me
So... here's a ridiculous question. But...does the Peach and Lily SMELL AS BAD AS GOOD GENES? Like I can tolerate the Good Genes smell but I can't deny that it sorta smells like a barnyard to me. I know lactic acid in general doesn't 'smell great', and I'm really curious if the Peach and Lily has a stronger scent because it has a higher percentage of lactic acid or what. I'm VERY curious about trying it when it's on sale on Ulta. I immediately went and put it on my list to keep an eye on.
So to me - it doesn’t have much of a smell at all. There’s something faint while applying it, but it disappears quickly. More herbal than milky? Oh my nose isn’t the best at smells though - definitely worth me reiterating haha!

I’m gonna slather it everywhere haha My skin on the face and body is sensitive and acne prone, besides applying lotion, I never paid much attn to my body skin unless probs popped up- but even if/when they did…frequently… there was hardly any advise abt what to do and definitely no product that worked. I enjoy skincare and pay attn to my face, but after Accutane my acne wasn’t as much of an issue so I’m focused on anti aging and evening my complexion. However, the probs I get on my body skin remind me that it needs care and attn. I have a skin type that is reactive & easily irritated, prone to razor burn, ingrown hairs, and getting pimples- I get pimples sometimes on my chest, breasts,my legs, my underarms, my bikini line/butt (ugh) & occasionally on my face; however, on the thin skin areas like my chest, neck, face & even legs, any spot I get is usually small and not the “cystic” type I had starting at age 11… so Its pretty straightforward to manage/address it. But in the areas with thicker skin, or around skin folds, or where clothes rub, I can get deeper pimples, redness, rashes, broken sun/ chafing… esp in the TX heat. So I have to be careful to obvs keep them clean, use products that don’t cause irritation, do things that won’t aggravate my skin, be thoughtful how often and what I use when shaving my legs and underarms, and even be considerate abt wearing clothes too often that rub on the same spots (like tank tops that hit that same area along the neckline and underarms). Of course most women and men have issues with razor burn or ingrown hairs in their bikini or groin bc it’s just physiology…and also butt pimples. But we don’t talk abt all that or see products for those areas/issues, likely bc body care is just now emerging and it’s awkward or challenging to market towards or talk abt. I mean, Just typing the word “groin” was 🤦🏼♀️ (but guys don’t have bikini lines and they do have issues similar to women🤷🏼♀️). Nonetheless, I have been trying to use my face products on my body to try making my skin healthier, even, hydrated, resilient & reduce/prevent recurring issues; however, its not as easy… there’s not a lot of guidance and Info out there, it’s a bigger area and realistically, harder to do as regularly as facial skin care. Plus, it just can present different challenges, more trial and error, time and effort (ugh)… So, I’m focusing on areas where I have pigmentation issues or “chicken skin” or I’m prone to get spots and ingrown hairs. I would be a lot more comfortable using the peach and lily serum on my body since it’s half the price and think it would be really beneficial for more delicate skin or sensitive areas for the same reason it’s good on your face. I wish someone would just create a product like this for the body… Ive heard ppl say the FAB KP scrub is good for ur bikini line and I have some samples from Ipsy I was going to try to prevent ingrown hair & help exfoliate these places to make the skin healthier/resilient. And since I know more abt skin anatomy/physiology and skincare, I realize why I’m more prone to irritation, acne, razor burn, chafing, redness, etc… so I kind of know what I need, but I’m not gonna go broke on some fancy serum trying to make my butt sparkle. So I’ll be here waiting for a great butt or vag toner or lotion or mask that exfoliates and hydrates and improves skin… I know if it worked, it would def sell well! Ha
I know all about the body acne issues. I feel like the added difficulty of it is that it’s the same pain from pimples on the face (you’re right especially the cystic ones), but good lord, when it’s located where you SIT - UGHHHH it’s a whole ‘nother problem! It hurts, you can’t get around the pain, and it’s a constant stinging reminder. SO AWFUL. Fully agree that it’s not talked about enough (I’m definitely talking about butt acne here lol) - because who wants to add awkwardness to the already existing trouble of dealing with it!? But it’s real, and I think we will see more discussion around the topic. I just talked about the FAB scrub actually! Yes, it’s wonderful-better than I anticipated! I don’t have KP, although I actually did when I was younger (lol, my backwards life over here), but it is wonderfully smoothing and I feel it helps my serums/lotions absorb better. Definitely give it a try, and you may not need a strong lactic acid serum at the same time as it tbh. You could try alternating though and see what works best for your skin. Hope that helps 🥰
Hi Alice, have you tried the Biossance Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum? I don’t know how the ingredients compare to Good Genes or P & L, but I do get noticeable brightening and smoothing from this product.
So I have - but I don’t feel I have a thoroughly formed opinion of it yet. I’ll make sure to give it a test run next month and update though (I’ve had a lot of questions about it, seems it works for many people!)
I don't know maybe I'm a little fucked up but I really believe that a Dupe should be at least half the money of the original product. Peach and Lily is quite expensive
Sad peach and lily didn’t work for me….dried out my skin so bad after one use around nose/mouth area. Any application tips? I might have to return…. Was a good deal since purchased during ulta sale but my skin isn’t agreeing with it. 😢
How much are you using? I found that I didn’t need to apply too much to see results Alas nothing is for everyone, so if it’s not working out - don’t feel bad about returning it! (I give you this advice as someone who fights with my own self about this LOL. It’s why the return policy exists though!!)

I have always wanted a Chameleon but I’ve heard they are or can be difficult to take care of?!? My local pet store stopped selling them, because (according to a sales associate) people kept buying them, but couldn’t keep them alive? I’m not sure of the whole story but, that is what one of the associates told me when I asked about getting one! He did say they have a breeder they will recommend but he wont sell to just anyone, he will either give you lessons or a class (?) but he needs to know that you can take care of them. Which I guess is good, because he wants to know they will live and thrive, but also can be more expensive… But I think kind of worth it! Anyway thank you for the dupe! I have used Good Genes in the past but only because I was paying $18 per bottle, I can’t afford to pay full price! I do really love Sunday Rileys JUNO Face Oil though! It is so good especially in winter, its a little on the thicker side but 2-3 drops either mixed in with your moisturizer or put on after it, but it just melts into your skin so well and makes your skin so plump and glowey the next morning! It’s so nice! But I definitely want to try the Peach and Lily serum now though, so thank you! …sorry for the book lol

I’m in a chameleons group, and it’s so heartbreaking how often we see people coming in with dying chameleons 😭 I suspect a lot of the problem is that there is a lot of bad information combined with the cost. Many of the lighting/enclosure systems that SHOW A CHAMELEON ON THEM are all wrong - made for desert animals or plants, not for tropical chameleons. Chameleons are also probably more expensive on a monthly basis than a dog - we have to replace lighting, maintain the misting system and plants in their enclosures, keep living insects, keep food FOR the food…it’s a lot. People don’t expect this when they drop $60 on the animal itself. Alas! For anyone who wants the good information, it’s out there. You have truly a good breeder who cares about their lives - definitely great to hear. And yes, they’re very fun pets! Quite quirky and full of surprises. For example, I would have never guessed Apollo has such a love for flowers, but he does! And Carl is too manly for flowers 😂 oh they’re both 2 now 😍

It won't be that hard..." But then they don't realize that They Grow! And just like you said, I Never would have thought of, "food for their food" Who would ever think that you need to buy food for your pets food? Not people making quick decisions at a local pet store because they see the adorable tiny chameleons that they have in a small glass cage... Most people think "oh it's cheap let's get one, That will be an easy pet" , or "the kids will love it, it's cheap and it will be so much easier than a cat or a dog" Not really having any information on what it takes to actually care of a chameleon or any lizard species. And it's a lot more than meets the eye... I think the local pet store did the right thing too. They knew The people who were buying them were buying them because they were cute and they thought they would be easy, and there's so much more to it, so they stopped selling! And I think that was definitely the right thing to do! I love Chameleons, I would love to have one, but I know that I can't afford to take care of one right now, but if I ever did decide to get one, I would make sure I knew everything there was to know about taking care of one first, just like I would with any pet that I would want to get! They're living beings, you want to make sure you know how to take care of them right, right? And like you're said with yours they have their own personalities and different needs... I wanted to love this so much I was very impressed with the ingredients and everything but their was something in it that my skin did not get along with and it was fine the first time but the 2 and 3rd time it Was like nope😭 I got a GWP of the Shani Darden lactic acid the new one but that crap is pretty much just as expensive . QvC had a buy one get one deal with the Sunday Riley good genes I was gonna get it but don't really want to support them even though it works really good.
Do you know if red algae works for your skin? It doesn’t help that sometimes brands just say “algae extract”, but specifically the red form has been a problem for some. Could be something else, but maybe worth taking note of? And yeah tbh, I know quite a few people who grumble about it but stick with GG because it works for them!
$122?!? no, thank you. lol i love the ordinary’s lactic acid. it works well as an exfoliating acid, and it’s cheap. it also layers well with other skincare products like the beauty of joseon serums.

It’s the charlotte tilbury instant eye palette in pillow talk - it’s way more pink on me than it looks in the pans, but that coincidentally works out for me as I love pink eyeshadows haha! And I definitely do: there are tutorials that demo winged liner on more hooded eyes (which tbh I need to start doing as my eye shape is starting to change myself). It’s a very flattering look! And yes, lactic acid is a fantastic ingredient for texture, especially on more sensitive or dry skin types ☺️
I'm excited to try this and ghost democracy petide mist in place of good Genes and ordinary buffet I've been using.

Good genes I have never used a product that works so well it lightened my dark spot and brighten my skin it also helped my skin texture. So I'm a little skeptical not because I don't trust you but because it worked so well. I haven't tried the peach and lily. I do have 2 peach and Lily glass refining serum and I wasn't in pressed but I'm going to have to give this a try and see if it works for me

So... here's a ridiculous question. But...does the Peach and Lily SMELL AS BAD AS GOOD GENES? Like I can tolerate the Good Genes smell but I can't deny that it sorta smells like a barnyard to me. I know lactic acid in general doesn't 'smell great', and I'm really curious if the Peach and Lily has a stronger scent because it has a higher percentage of lactic acid or what. I'm VERY curious about trying it when it's on sale on Ulta. I immediately went and put it on my list to keep an eye on.
So to me - it doesn’t have much of a smell at all. There’s something faint while applying it, but it disappears quickly. More herbal than milky?
Oh my nose isn’t the best at smells though - definitely worth me reiterating haha!

My skin on the face and body is sensitive and acne prone, besides applying lotion, I never paid much attn to my body skin unless probs popped up- but even if/when they did…frequently… there was hardly any advise abt what to do and definitely no product that worked. I enjoy skincare and pay attn to my face, but after Accutane my acne wasn’t as much of an issue so I’m focused on anti aging and evening my complexion. However, the probs I get on my body skin remind me that it needs care and attn.
I have a skin type that is reactive & easily irritated, prone to razor burn, ingrown hairs, and getting pimples- I get pimples sometimes on my chest, breasts,my legs, my underarms, my bikini line/butt (ugh) & occasionally on my face; however, on the thin skin areas like my chest, neck, face & even legs, any spot I get is usually small and not the “cystic” type I had starting at age 11… so Its pretty straightforward to manage/address it. But in the areas with thicker skin, or around skin folds, or where clothes rub, I can get deeper pimples, redness, rashes, broken sun/ chafing… esp in the TX heat. So I have to be careful to obvs keep them clean, use products that don’t cause irritation, do things that won’t aggravate my skin, be thoughtful how often and what I use when shaving my legs and underarms, and even be considerate abt wearing clothes too often that rub on the same spots (like tank tops that hit that same area along the neckline and underarms).
Of course most women and men have issues with razor burn or ingrown hairs in their bikini or groin bc it’s just physiology…and also butt pimples. But we don’t talk abt all that or see products for those areas/issues, likely bc body care is just now emerging and it’s awkward or challenging to market towards or talk abt. I mean, Just typing the word “groin” was 🤦🏼♀️ (but guys don’t have bikini lines and they do have issues similar to women🤷🏼♀️).
Nonetheless, I have been trying to use my face products on my body to try making my skin healthier, even, hydrated, resilient & reduce/prevent recurring issues; however, its not as easy… there’s not a lot of guidance and Info out there, it’s a bigger area and realistically, harder to do as regularly as facial skin care. Plus, it just can present different challenges, more trial and error, time and effort (ugh)…
So, I’m focusing on areas where I have pigmentation issues or “chicken skin” or I’m prone to get spots and ingrown hairs. I would be a lot more comfortable using the peach and lily serum on my body since it’s half the price and think it would be really beneficial for more delicate skin or sensitive areas for the same reason it’s good on your face. I wish someone would just create a product like this for the body…
Ive heard ppl say the FAB KP scrub is good for ur bikini line and I have some samples from Ipsy I was going to try to prevent ingrown hair & help exfoliate these places to make the skin healthier/resilient.
And since I know more abt skin anatomy/physiology and skincare, I realize why I’m more prone to irritation, acne, razor burn, chafing, redness, etc… so I kind of know what I need, but I’m not gonna go broke on some fancy serum trying to make my butt sparkle.
So I’ll be here waiting for a great butt or vag toner or lotion or mask that exfoliates and hydrates and improves skin… I know if it worked, it would def sell well! Ha
I know all about the body acne issues. I feel like the added difficulty of it is that it’s the same pain from pimples on the face (you’re right especially the cystic ones), but good lord, when it’s located where you SIT - UGHHHH it’s a whole ‘nother problem! It hurts, you can’t get around the pain, and it’s a constant stinging reminder. SO AWFUL. Fully agree that it’s not talked about enough (I’m definitely talking about butt acne here lol) - because who wants to add awkwardness to the already existing trouble of dealing with it!? But it’s real, and I think we will see more discussion around the topic.
I just talked about the FAB scrub actually! Yes, it’s wonderful-better than I anticipated! I don’t have KP, although I actually did when I was younger (lol, my backwards life over here), but it is wonderfully smoothing and I feel it helps my serums/lotions absorb better. Definitely give it a try, and you may not need a strong lactic acid serum at the same time as it tbh. You could try alternating though and see what works best for your skin. Hope that helps 🥰
Hi Alice, have you tried the Biossance Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum? I don’t know how the ingredients compare to Good Genes or P & L, but I do get noticeable brightening and smoothing from this product.
So I have - but I don’t feel I have a thoroughly formed opinion of it yet. I’ll make sure to give it a test run next month and update though (I’ve had a lot of questions about it, seems it works for many people!)

It’s $34 less so that is a substantial savings. I mentioned knockout by Tarte and that is only $39 so it’s more that 50% less than good genes!!
Sad peach and lily didn’t work for me….dried out my skin so bad after one use around nose/mouth area. Any application tips? I might have to return…. Was a good deal since purchased during ulta sale but my skin isn’t agreeing with it. 😢
How much are you using? I found that I didn’t need to apply too much to see results
Alas nothing is for everyone, so if it’s not working out - don’t feel bad about returning it! (I give you this advice as someone who fights with my own self about this LOL. It’s why the return policy exists though!!)

I have always wanted a Chameleon but I’ve heard they are or can be difficult to take care of?!? My local pet store stopped selling them, because (according to a sales associate) people kept buying them, but couldn’t keep them alive? I’m not sure of the whole story but, that is what one of the associates told me when I asked about getting one! He did say they have a breeder they will recommend but he wont sell to just anyone, he will either give you lessons or a class (?) but he needs to know that you can take care of them. Which I guess is good, because he wants to know they will live and thrive, but also can be more expensive… But I think kind of worth it! Anyway thank you for the dupe! I have used Good Genes in the past but only because I was paying $18 per bottle, I can’t afford to pay full price! I do really love Sunday Rileys JUNO Face Oil though! It is so good especially in winter, its a little on the thicker side but 2-3 drops either mixed in with your moisturizer or put on after it, but it just melts into your skin so well and makes your skin so plump and glowey the next morning! It’s so nice! But I definitely want to try the Peach and Lily serum now though, so thank you!

Oh my I’m actually so happy to hear that about your pet shop! I’m in a chameleons group, and it’s so heartbreaking how often we see people coming in with dying chameleons 😭 I suspect a lot of the problem is that there is a lot of bad information combined with the cost. Many of the lighting/enclosure systems that SHOW A CHAMELEON ON THEM are all wrong - made for desert animals or plants, not for tropical chameleons. Chameleons are also probably more expensive on a monthly basis than a dog - we have to replace lighting, maintain the misting system and plants in their enclosures, keep living insects, keep food FOR the food…it’s a lot. People don’t expect this when they drop $60 on the animal itself.
Alas! For anyone who wants the good information, it’s out there. You have truly a good breeder who cares about their lives - definitely great to hear. And yes, they’re very fun pets! Quite quirky and full of surprises. For example, I would have never guessed Apollo has such a love for flowers, but he does! And Carl is too manly for flowers 😂 oh they’re both 2 now 😍

But then they don't realize that They Grow! And just like you said, I Never would have thought of, "food for their food" Who would ever think that you need to buy food for your pets food? Not people making quick decisions at a local pet store because they see the adorable tiny chameleons that they have in a small glass cage... Most people think "oh it's cheap let's get one, That will be an easy pet" , or "the kids will love it, it's cheap and it will be so much easier than a cat or a dog" Not really having any information on what it takes to actually care of a chameleon or any lizard species. And it's a lot more than meets the eye...
I think the local pet store did the right thing too. They knew The people who were buying them were buying them because they were cute and they thought they would be easy, and there's so much more to it, so they stopped selling! And I think that was definitely the right thing to do!
I love Chameleons, I would love to have one, but I know that I can't afford to take care of one right now, but if I ever did decide to get one, I would make sure I knew everything there was to know about taking care of one first, just like I would with any pet that I would want to get!
They're living beings, you want to make sure you know how to take care of them right, right? And like you're said with yours they have their own personalities and different needs... Apollo loves flowers, that's awesome I love that. But Carl has no time for that so you need flowers for Apollo You need something else for Carl You take care of their needs It's a lot of work! I wanted to love this so much I was very impressed with the ingredients and everything but their was something in it that my skin did not get along with and it was fine the first time but the 2 and 3rd time it Was like nope😭 I got a GWP of the Shani Darden lactic acid the new one but that crap is pretty much just as expensive . QvC had a buy one get one deal with the Sunday Riley good genes I was gonna get it but don't really want to support them even though it works really good.
Do you know if red algae works for your skin? It doesn’t help that sometimes brands just say “algae extract”, but specifically the red form has been a problem for some. Could be something else, but maybe worth taking note of?
And yeah tbh, I know quite a few people who grumble about it but stick with GG because it works for them!
