    I can build a "tube" radio, but know very little about the magic of computer electronics. I purchased most of the hardware needed to build a CNC for myself, over a year ago. I just don't know if the parts I bought will work for my needs or not.

      But I do like fusion cad, just can't run it.

    I agree not to use blender, but it was great to add it on the list. See, I started with Blender to animate, since I want to be a 3D animator when I grow up, but for school I have tech ed where we use Autodesk inventor. That cost two dollars a day so I had to use something else. When I found out Blender was one of them I tried it out, and it didn't go as plan.
    Thx for the recommendation. Ill go check em out.

  • @JohnMorley1

    The gist of this seemed to me to be use TinkerCAD if you want easy to use and quick to learn but if you are looking for more features (particularly in terms of rendering for graphics) then you might need Blender.
    I still haven't tried these programs. So, it is just my takeaway from watching the video.

    • @DarkArtGuitars
      @DarkArtGuitars  6 років тому +1

      For more features you also might want to check out fusion360 or Onshape, I made newer videos about them.

      I'll try Onshape next.

    What program is best for involving math with angles, what I’m wanting to design is very symmetrical and has lots of precise angles. Also taking in the printers microns. So if I get a 25 or 50 micron printer and I want to make a void in a block in the shape of a Disk but be 50 microns thick, so later on I can fill with a liquid. And /Or if I want to make a ramp that is 50 microns thick and it’s at an angle, one end touching the platform, and the other end being 50 to 100 microns off the platform, then put 150° on it and keep going.
    Also what about making a circle with 360 degrees of reference points. Like make a line starting at 0° and go to 150° and from there continue the line to 300° etc. with all said what software is best for me. Note the ramp will become a void shape inside of a solid

    What is a good app for generating supports? I have a Flashforge and their app is excellent for this, but I also have a Sindoh 3DWOX 1 and it doesn't seem to do it. So I import a file into FlashPrint, add supports, export it as an STL, import it into the Sindoh app and THEN print. Is there a good app for doing this all at once and being able to address either printer?

    Hallo David,
    A helpful video . Thank you! ..... But I have a question:
    Supposing you have a stand-alone computer that is not connected to the internet - which of these 5 programmes can be used on this stand-alone computer?
    If none of the 5 would work could you suggest a free or cheap programme that would work?

    • @oliveryates7873

    • @camiemengineer
      @camiemengineer 6 років тому +1

      Hey Oliver! Thanks for your reply. Actually, what I meant was that many "free" programmes need initially to be registered online and some appear to require for you to be online and "logged in" for the programme to work. Of course if you are working on a sensitive and confidential design then that's not acceptable. I know that sketch up do both a free and a payable version .. so do you know if both versions do not require for you to be logged on to sketch up's site .. and how about initial registration?
      I also have a paid version of TurboCad V. 20. (It did not cost a lot). Do you or anyone know if it can be used for 3D printing? All I know is that it can handle .STL files .. but I don't know if that means it can generate .STL files or simply read them.

    OnShape is by far the best solution for anyone just starting in CAD, or for advanced users that are making a transition to a modern CAD system. Calling TinkerCad a CAD program is like calling a Toyota Corolla a race car... nope.

    • @DarkArtGuitars
      @DarkArtGuitars  7 років тому +2

      Well you are right that Tinkercad is by no means a pro level cad program, but cad just means computer aided design, so technically you could almost call ms paint a cad program (not quite of course but I think you get my point)

  • @mattlenn100
    @mattlenn100 5 років тому

    Fusion 360 is awful, Buggy, loading issues. some simple things like copy paste can fuck up the drawing (if it even works) and you are very limited to do 2D drawings that then will turn into 3D instead of freely draw.
