you can really see why they have such an incredible bite force. their heads and necks are built so heavily and it's like their faces are so compact, kinda like a pitbull. beautiful creatures.
several have been spotted around Collinsville Texas in the Cross Timbers west of C'ville and also around Ethel which is east of Collinsville over the last100yrs or so. I'm 65 and My father was born and raised west of C'VILLE. He told of seeing one when he was 16 yrs. old. His four older brothers also had reported seeing one. Probably the same one. As recently as 5 yrs.' ago My son's friend and his grand father saw one in Ethel Texas pull down a calf. Others are reported around the coffee shops periodically. No one seems to make a big issue of it. I might add Residents of Callisburg, Texas also have several sightings. They are part of the cross timbers and closer to Red River wild country than we are.
My 7 year old son is obsessed with black jaguars. He has autism and he drags around a black jaguar cub stuffed animal everywhere. He will also tell anyone who will listen about his jag. Great video!! He memorized it word for word after watching once!! ;)
Diablo is in pretty good shape as he gets older. Jags sometimes looks stockier due to their build with being low to the ground like a pit bull. I hope to film him again when I go back up for a visit in September.
Good point. As much as i love tigers, cougars, jags. I would have the change the way I live if I had them in my own back yard. No more walking the little poodle at night, and no more walking alone to work. Many people do have animals like these in their area. That is why supporting good conservation efforts helps keep wildlife and people safe.
Research has recently shown that melanism occurs in approx. 6% of the Panthera Onca (Jaguar) population. The frequency is less common in some known habitats, but not considered rare. Melanism may indeed be a selective advantage since it is found more commonly in rainforests of Brazil and Belize where light levels are lower. The melanism allele is dominant in Jaguars, e.g., black jaguars may produce either black or spotted cubs, but a pair of spotted jaguars can only produce spotted cubs. The gene is incompletely dominant -- an individual jaguar with two copies of the allele are darker than an individual with just one, and background color will appear charcoal color rather than black. In all cases, spots are still present and visible to some degree.
Thanks. as long as the cat was looking towards the camera, anyone could have taken a great picture of him. He is such a beautiful and powerful looking Jag.
Disney did a movie called "The Jungle Cat" in the 50's. All about the Jaguar. If the Jag were the size of the tiger or lion, he would surely be called King of the Jungle. Pound for pound the strongest of the big cats. Seen them up close, absolutely magnificent.
Great vid! I really think you should have shown how MOST jaguar look like. There's a lot of misconceptions about jaguars being black, when it's actually a rare condition. People do not confuse black jaguars with leopards but the normal jaguars, a ton.
good point..at this time I didn't have a lot of jag photos. I do have a series called Safari Brazil in where I go looking for Jaguars, and I do come across some and of course they are the regular variety.
@Rodriguer2000 I think it's because the cougar screams, meows and purrs that they aren't labelled big cats. They don't roar, I'm sure it also has something to do with their ears being pointed rather than rounded. But cougars are taller and heavier than cheetahs.
Jags like most other big cats will most likely have small controlled populations that will have human intervention at times either to move some around to better the gene pool, or fenced in for protection, but hopefully they will not go extinct anytime in our generation.
I'm a big fan of Ordinary Jaguars with normal coloured coats and they are my faviroute type of Jaguars , my second favourite are Black Panther Jaguars.
I love jaguars!! I just couldn't get enough of them probably because we don't see many footages of them on TV. They are elusive and secretive. Jaguars are so large, they look like a bear!!
to play with. Again, the black jaguar looked bored with the Xmas tree. But the black bear used Xmas tree and dragged it to indoor den & used its paws to carry Xmas tree to have it block the cold from entering it's "hibernation den". :-) That black bear was so dang cute with the Xmas tree. About big cats, I've seen Lion family in St. Louis. I've seen Asian tigers in Thailand & petted & posed with them in Thailand. And at the Everglades in Florida, they have Panther crossings. Have a great 2013!
great point. imagine walking around with just a spear knowing these guys are watching your every move. I think back then I would have spent a lot of time hiding in my cave.
I've heard of Jags being found in Texas. I volunteer at a zoo and in one of our binders it stated that 4 jags have been recently spotted in Texas but they aren't sure if all 4 decided to stay in the state.
Thank you, briczar for this video & providing link to Wildcat Sanctuary. :-) I saw a black jaguar at the St. Louis Zoo last Sunday. It was so pretty. :-) I love most animals that are black-colored. I loved seeing the jaguar spots underneath the black hair. It was neat! The black jaguar looked bored thought & yawned & paced around "roaring" opposite the Amur tiger that was stationed across from where black jaguar was. The St. Louis zoo had real Xmas trees for black jaguar & black bear (cont.)
***** x) Come come now, that's the Egyptian god Anubis throwing up the "rock on" symbol. Besides, why would you be so butthurt over a silly thing like an avatar.
Lykos-Anubis This dude doesn't even have an avatar and yet yours affects him. LOL. I'm the Black Widow and love to eat puny males like him. However, This is Reality!?!
This sanctuary takes in former pets, zoo animals, etc... so their cats are born into captivity and simply don't have the skills to be released into the wild. In the past year or so with some of the larger cats, there are plans to relocate wild felines to other areas/parks. (Tigers for instance in India) But for many the problem isn't so much the low number of cats (as most cats breed well) as much as the low amount of protected land, so they have room to venture out and find different mates.
"Panther" is usually used to describe the puma or mountain lion or cougar (all the same cat..different regions use different names) And sometimes people will call a black leopard a black panther. Hope this helps.
***** clearly, youde as stupid as those people who thought jaguars are cars in the first place and any spotted large felines are leopards, yes, i think you need to stop breeding for humanity's sake. Good day.
***** and ofcourse, you would feel superior cuz of likes in your op, but that makes me question your stupidity cuz its improving as time goes.. and clearly you didnt understand what my op means, or is it that youre pissed off.
@1MisterAaron they were both made by the same guy. It wasn't 'based' on the Sayurday Night Live show, it was more of an explination of the characters, their stories in a way.
Jaguars have the strongest jaw muscles of all big cats because they kill their prey, not by breaking the neck like the other big cats, but by crushing the skull in their jaws. My first tattoo was a jaguar, but it wasn't a black one.
@1MisterAaron you guys should upload a video of a jaguar roaring. how much do their roars differ among the panthera genus?. there is not one video of a Jaguar roaring in youtube
They are beautiful indeed but I'm sure it must look horrifying in person,I know I would be extremely terrified to see any feline that gives me that death glare, but I agree wee should appreciate of having these beautiful animals on our planet
@DonPechito The cougar, puma, mountain lion etc.. is the largest of the lesser cats. So that includes the housecat, serval, caracal, sand cats (most cats fall into this catagory) etc.. And the greater are the jag, tigers, leopards and lions

😊
The melanistic jaguar is the most beautiful animal in the world.

+Sitizen Kane Maybe, but the snow leopard are also one hell of a beauty!

Sitizen Kane yeah im jaguarfun
2:07 Look at its massive jaw. Gorgeous animal. Protect the black jaguar. Protect all wildlife.
Juaguar is a gift all of us must do our best to protect it
We should wanna protect ALL wildlife not just the Jaguars July 24,2020
My favourite big cat xxx
My cat also xxx
I love you
Jaguars are mostly native to South America, but a few have been spotted in the United States in Arizona.
several have been spotted around Collinsville Texas in the Cross Timbers west of C'ville and also around Ethel which is east of Collinsville over the last100yrs or so.

Jaguars, Tigers, Lions & all the big cat family are so elegant when they walk. They are undeniably beautiful creatures.
The most badass big cat on earth. One of my life goals to see a black jag in the flesh. It just looks like it knows its the boss haha
mine too..
What a beautiful animal...
Indeed.
ok
favorite big cat ever, i get a hell of a kick out of its stubby little ears
wow! that guy is lucky he saw a black jaguar
The jaguar the pit bull of the feline world. It kills by biting through the skull but every other cat kills by biting the neck to suffocate!!
a crushed skull is way more painful than getting suffocated to death imho. so yeah, jaguars are boss xD
My 7 year old son is obsessed with black jaguars. He has autism and he drags around a black jaguar cub stuffed animal everywhere. He will also tell anyone who will listen about his jag. Great video!! He memorized it word for word after watching once!! ;)
What a majestic cat, I loved it.
What a GORGEOUS animal. I want one.
Truly a majestic and gorgeous animal.
AWESOME BLACK JAGUARS
Wow. That was really great! Good job!
thanks..hope you can check out my other videos.
Diablo is in pretty good shape as he gets older. Jags sometimes looks stockier due to their build with being low to the ground like a pit bull. I hope to film him again when I go back up for a visit in September.
thanks for the work mate...
this animal is beyond beauty!
I like this animal by its appearance...love you Jaguar
He definitely has that humble beast personally
He looks graceful and brutal at the same time if I were to get attacked and killed by an animal I would choose the black panther (Jaguar)
Gorgeous amazing majestic animal. May God bless them.
Wow awesome looking Black Jaguar!

Fantastic photographer -- extremely talented.
Fascinating animal, one of the most powerful predators.
Both melanistic leopard and Jaguar are beautiful.

I agree in protesting the Jaguar. The world would never be the same without them or the Sumatran Tiger
The black Jaguar is my number 1 most incredible and favourite animal
@Rodriguer2000 I think it's because the cougar screams, meows and purrs that they aren't labelled big cats. They don't roar, I'm sure it also has something to do with their ears being pointed rather than rounded. But cougars are taller and heavier than cheetahs.
love the big cat videos, i'm always amazed how much they look like my 6lbs cat, they are soooo cute
Beautiful, beautiful creature.
Come to Pantanal, Brazil, we still see a lot of them in the wild.Acttualy right now is the best season to spot them at day light.
i like his softness

They're just called black jaguars dude. "Panther" isnt a species.
Seen TWO of these...we call em panthers here. in Washington State!!! Looked 200 lbs minimum!!! These I seen looked 225-250 lbs!
Protect this individual as long as we can..he looks powerful
You can visit him online at Wildcat Sanctuary. As for in person they only allow a few supporters on their property.
ohh what gorgeous animals i love those jaguar such great strong creatures.
these beautiful cats are in the swamps of S.C also. I have seen them twice.
its neck is huge

In every photo the Jaguar looked like he was deep in thaught.
I love jaguars!! I just couldn't get enough of them probably because we don't see many footages of them on TV. They are elusive and secretive.

Nice predator.!!!
very helpfull thanks. Are there other large feline species that appear black as well as the jag? i.e. black panther??

i got to hold a baby black leopard once. It was a beautiful cat.
Jaguars r bigger than leopards
NarlyCrocodile way bigger
Did you know jaguar is the 2ND raresest animal in this world
Usman Baloch snow leopard is on top right?
Amur tiger #1
Awesome video, thanks for sharing :)
@DonPechito The cougar, puma, mountain lion etc.. is the largest of the lesser cats. So that includes the housecat, serval, caracal, sand cats (most cats fall into this catagory) etc.. And the greater are the jag, tigers, leopards and lions
Jaguars are amazing!
Looks like a pitbull of the cat world. Beautiful.
@1MisterAaron Yes, they are usually called "puma" down there, but yes there are in south america along with the jag.
I knew this was a captured jag. The jaguar is a night predator who favors swamps & jungles. They don't function well in the daytime.
woo the black jaguar.
it has the highest muscle mass of any of the big cats
im doin an essay at this moment of this animal ayyyyy
Nice nice 👌
good video. This is my favorite animal.
beautiful animal.
want more videos like this.
