I now own this bike Dave, I bought it July 2022. To see your video and your testimony to the bike its good to know prior to me owning the bike, it was used and well looked after mechanically and cosmetically. It is still as is, a beauty.
I have a 2015 now (just went to it a couple of weeks ago), but the 2007 was my favorite motorcycle ever. Lighter and more flickable - simpler, and just an all-around great bike.
Hi Dave, New Subscriber. I traded my Harley for a 2006 BMW R1200GS and I love it. Couldn’t be happier. It was a 2008 Harley Wide Glide. It was Hot to ride, like burning hot when you stopped. It only had about a 125 Mile Range and was very uncomfortable for me. I have 4 Fusions in my Neck and 2 in my lower Back. I couldn’t ride the Harley. The GS is sooo comfortable and cool that I don’t feel any heat. I can actually ride for Miles on end. I’m so happy I made the Trade. It runs perfect, and has 30,000 Miles on it. It’s a World of difference and I don’t have to look for Gas Stations every Time I turn around. Anyway, Love the Video and looking forward to more. Ride Safe my Friend.👍
Thank you for those kind words.... It's a great bike and will give you years of loyal service..... Look out for more videos to come featuring the bmw marque and the Yorkshire countryside. Best wishes 👍
I could never justify any bike in the £20k range, i parted with half that for my DL1000 a couple of years ago. Its a sunny day toy to me, and thus doesn't really get the usage it deserves. I'm also not a fan of electronics featured on virtually all new modern bikes (which is one of the reasons I selected the outgoing model 2019 DL ) , so your GS does have a lot of appeal to me. And its certainly a credit to you from what i've seen. I also very much enjoy my 2000 reg Deauville, with no mod cons whatsoever. Take care sir, and great vlog.
Great bike, I wish I had longer legs, I own an 80th anniversary R1150R Rockster and thats high enough me, it is 20 years old and still looks new, I love them
Very interesting video Dave. You make a lot of good points especially on the new bells and whistles that the new machines have. That said I’m all for as much safety as possible but you can’t beat just riding sensibly in the first place. The GS is a real credit to you and it certainly doesn’t look it’s age. When I change my K16 probably next year I think I’ll be radically downsizing. From one TBW to another, stay safe out there
Cheers and you have convinced me to get one on offer, in really goid condition, because watching your riding, it seems almost effortless. Yep, I am a lady, however, I know that this BMW is as best as I would really ever need. Comfort, lack of fearing lack of good possitive handling, stability, ride wudth, lower centre of gravity in a good way, and I do not want to die just be able to not worry about upgrading, or seriously bad cheap, wearing on these silly cafe racers, a good nortgern headwind, and thats it. No way hosey lad. Trouble is, well, I have been offered rubbish bikes, 53 years young me. Do not care what anyone thinks unless a valid technichian, as in why put me on a scooter? What is this. Politely just say no. Careful me. Do not like taking corners in a side wind on yamahs, etc. So I reckon, with years of being a woman, wanting touring, wanting no surpise cliwn bike explosions, no back up to any electric powered toy for a fun run in perfect conditions. Sorry luv. Just that is weeks taken off my life, so now I am really grateful to you. Ta x
Thank you for those kind words Gina….go for it and live your life….it’s a great bike and so easy to throw around…..if I can offer any advice feel free to get in touch at thebingleywheeler@gmail.com
Hi Gina, I don’t think you live on this side of the Pond, but if you’re ever around Texas I would Love going Riding with you. I Love these older GSs. Mine doesn’t have all the Bells and Whistles being a 2006, but I Love it the way it is. It’s the Best Bike I’ve ever Ridden, and I think I have had every Make Bike at one Time or another.👍👍

Hi Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and Honda ST1300 Pan European
I've got a 2007 1200GS, love it, so comfortable I can ride it all day, cheap to run, does 50 mpg, very easy to look after, stands me under 3 grand 😁
