A great video on this topic, Justin! I like what you said of "slicing" the hands when you play the single strokes. It reminds me of Jeff Hamilton's overall approach to the drums in that the hands are more in a circular motion, inviting the drums to you rather than you going towards the drums. I gotta try those single strokes in that "slicing" manner!
Awesome! Can you also do a video on his solos. There’s a lot of stuff in his solos that is so melodically rich, can’t wrap my mind how he does it. The solos he does on the skyscrapers albums particularly. His solos tell stories out of this world.

I use a Moeller pumping motion to get it in matched grip. First stroke with the wrist slightly bent upward, then "whip" down for the second stroke. Hope that makes sense...
