Father is biology, Dad is earnt
Earnt? And your last name do not go together. Lol.
Earned, Susie, Earned.
Earnt is also correct it is usually used in the UK
isn’t in the other way around ?
well said, but its "earned"
He's not a step dad, he's a true dad to a young man who needed a dad in his life and will always be his dad no matter
Loretta Posey fr
Yes! I agree :)
Absolutely correct Loretta. Now you'll have to excuse me; gotta find my box of 'Kleenex'! 😢
I've actually done that twice. First son was 12, second son was 36. I'm black, they're both white. Just goes to show age and color simply don't matter. I'm their dad. 😢 😃
He’s a Dad who stepped up. 😊 ❤️ not a step dad.
He’s not a step dad He stepped up to be a dad
Denise Brooks I know that so what was the point of going to court to get permission to change his name for the jersey it just isn’t nessary?
Christina B., in another interview, the son said he wanted to get his last name legally changed because his dad has no other children, so there would be no one left to carry on his last name. He said he felt like after all his dad has done for him, he wanted him to know that his last name would carry on his grand children.
@Denise
I don't think I have ever read a more perfect comment regarding the role a stepparent chooses to take in their new child's life until now. Absolutely beautiful and so very true.
*Never fails that those damn onion ninja's sneak in for a peek at these sort of videos at the same time I'm watching. SMH
LMAO!
Love.
Denise Brooks..well said 👍
I'm a stepdad to 2 beautiful daughters. I would give my life for them. I have known them since they were small, and we are in the high school years now. When they go off to college, they want to move back to their hometown so they can try to reconnect with their real dad, who is somewhat still in the picture (he doesn't support them financially, but he calls every once in a while). I encourage them to do just that, but I hope they don't forget me. If they do, it won't change the fact that I will always love them like they were my own.
They're your kids no matter what. Don't ever worry that they will forget you, they won't. Thanks for stepping up to the plate and being a real dad to them.
Joe Rhodes did you really just comment this to get attention lol wow
A Dad is who raised them. They won’t forget it.
Cliff Hunt most people comment on things they connect with lol. Speaking of wanting attention nice try being edgy
@john doughh Amen
"Wow! This kid really loves me."
I'm crying..
Love from the heart always beats out DNA.
Lovely note!
Wow....never heard it defined that way. So true. And a beautiful way to express it! ❤️
Amen
Agreed 👍
So true. I adopted my two sons, one 35 years ago at 12, the other 17 months ago at 36. It truly is the ❤ that counts.
He was promoted from step dad to *“DAD”* long ago. The name change was jus a legal change, but a sweet one at that. ❤️
Yes! He's always been the dad
Great example of how life should be with this step dad and step son story..👍
My wife adopted my son when he was almost 18. His mom left him when he was 6. Nobody can tell me adoption doesn't change lives. h and I was adopted at birth so....... This young man is a great son, to his dad.
@A A Who really cares what those murderers think. :)
A A they are doing a job well done and you have no right to belittle of them or call them bad people.
A A My brother you either are not aware of what you wrote up there or you meant something else but what I got was quiet horrible of you to say.
A A do inform me if I got something wrong considering English isn’t my first language so I may have looked way into this but what I understood is that you and the other commenter believe that Abortionist are horrible people and even go as far as calling them murderers.
This is of course with the context of Abortionists being people’s go carry out abortions.
That’s not a stepdad, that’s a real dad!! 💓
I'm not crying - you're crying. 😢
very, very funny!
yep I am....
You are correct... I’m crying! 😉
No you 😭
Ninjas chopping onions....
"He may not be my real daddy, but he's my daddy in my heart." A little girl once told me. It can even stand true for a 6'8" grown man.
He said "You're my world"...What an incredible honor🥰
I’m a big ball of tears right now. I miss my dad so much 1964-2017 ❤️
Hugs for you!
Like so many others have said in the comments. That man isn’t a step father he’s a real father. Just because they have different dna doesn’t mean he’s not his real dad. The kid knows it and truly showed it. Bless them both.
This got me in the feels. I have 3 kids. The eldest is from a previous relationship my wife had. He was 4 when I came into his life. To me, he is and always will be my eldest boy and love him no different than my 2 biological kids.
You're a legend. 💪🏼
Young guy is bright, thoughtful, and loyal. He will be a good husband and Dad I am sure.
Yeah but can he be a good guard or tackle!
@@photostud that much, I can’t answer. He would definitely be better than me lol
He actually looks like him lol people always tell me how much more I look like my stepdad (who raised me) than my biological dad who was never there lol God bless all the REAL dads out there 🙏🏽
Same. My step dad has been in my life since I was 2. I'm now 31, I changed my surname to his, he is my dad. I don't see my bio father as my dad and refer to him by his name. My dad is the man that raised me.
That “kid” is very emotionally mature and secure. Light years beyond most of us older people. Great video to share with the world.
They gave him the entire New Jersey?? WOW!
🤦🏽♀️ I love this comment 😄 Nice one.
I mean I wouldn’t really see that as a gift but more as an insult lol
Beautiful execution👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
brother man is BALLIN !
I love my stepdaughter. Try telling her I’m not her dad. She’s 21, second semester of nursing school, I’m a retired Marine, I love her mother.
thank you for your service ! god bless you and your family🇺🇸💙💙
@@jennifercastillo1168 thank you dear, I do what I do for my precious wife, son, stepdaughter, grandsons and precious daughter in law. No glory to it, I just do it the best I can.
I'm not American, but I more than love to say thank you for your service. I'm also so happy you're a part of a loving family! All grace!
Damn who’s cutting onions
Hi Ethan... if you're emotional over this video, it's a blessing. It proves you have a wonderful heart. Thank you for sharing. Yes, it's like someone keeps cutting onions! Ha! The saying about "onions" will always be a part of UA-cam when it refers to these emotional videos. I am going to look for more "onion" videos now! Haha. May GOD BLESS YOU each day!
Peace and a prayer,
Lynne 🍃💜🍃
Faith without deeds is dead
What an awesome gesture of love and respect
Props to any man who can love another mans kids!
I'm tearing up the stepdads who really care show what it means to be a real man
Notice how the news called him his step dad and the kid just calls him my dad.
How could 95 people thumbs down this story? That's 95 heartless people right there.
Those 95 are probably dyslexic
Probably because they may see it as a bit disrespectful to the bio dad.
So when I met my girlfriend she had two young Sons they were two and three their father wasn't around at all I've been raising them like they were my own. I've never left their side I've been to the first day of kindergarten their birthdays Christmases I've been here. Now that their dad has moved to the same town as us. He wants to get them every other weekend which is fine but he has a huge problem with me I never done anything to this man except love his kids I hope one day one day my boys will see how much I love them and know everything I've done has been for them. I don't want them to forget who has been there. I'm sorry if I rambled I just can't talk to my girlfriend about this she doesn't understand how I feel thank you for those who read this and listening stay safe out there
She should be lucky to have you, she should understand. Why can't she understand this.
My heart is there with you. Remember that God put u there for a reason. It is natural for anyone to want to know where they came from, so don't u think for a second those girls will forget about u, just relax and let God do what he do. I command u for stepping up to love them. A father just gives sperm , a daddy gives u love and care. It will be okay. Been there done that. All love.
Of course she doesn't understand. They're not HER feelings.
“This kid really loves me” ❤️😭😭😭
“He’s just the best.” 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Any man can be a father, the one who loves and raises you is your DAD!!!!
I would have never thought Mr. Musto was his step dad because he looks so much like him what a touching moment ❤️❤️💪💪
Seen this a few times and always brings me to tears. As a single mom it is hard to share kids but when the “other” parent is amazing is easy to share the love!! My kids step mom is wonderful and I appreciate her so very much!
This video is less than 3 minutes and I'm crying like a baby, thank you so much for sharing this amazing moment with us. So beautiful and pure. Still crying ❤
Awesome!
That's his dad regardless!
I was legally adopted at 21. My dad was there since I was 13 raising me and my siblings when my bio dad crapped out. I can say the name change means a lot on both sides.
I too was adopted at 21 by the dad that raised me since I was 6. My biological dad died when I was 2. The name change does mean a lot, even though I always thought of him as my second father and he of me as his daughter.
"He took my voice away" 😭
God bless Good families.
Good families are Made and Found, by loving people
Step dads don’t exist! That’s his dad! And that’s one of the best thank you to a man that stepped up ‼️
Such profound respect and love to give to your step-dad. Cross out the step.
Not a Stepdad but a Dad that stepped up!
Fantastic. Two great guys.
A GREAT MAN who raised a wonderful kid!
Awesome! Good Job Dad! That is a real man! ♥️
And here I am again, crying all over again like I've never seen this video.
George Hartman's goal is def to make every CBS anchor cry.
NOW THAT A AWESOME HUMAN BEING. HATS OF TO THIS HERO. 👍👍
What a great young man
What a beautiful story with even more beautiful people!❤️
Pure love between father n son
I’m not crying. Good Lord, this is awesome
Definition of grown man who loves his son
2 min and 44 seconds well spent watching this LOVELY VIDEO! God bless them all. (Of course I cried happy tears!)
Peace, Lynne 🍃💜🍃
He’s a hero !! Omg !!
This is the kind of guy I want my daughter to marry someday, what a kid.
Mom typically gets credit for vast majority of anything pertaining to parenting. For a father to receive credit as a parent is a big deal. ESPECIALLY a step Father to receive credit (good credit!), is unheard of. Michael Musto deserves a Nobel Peace prize. And the news reporter(s) deserve recognition for doing such a great job for bringing this story to light.
definitely does not deserve a nobel peace prize 😂
@@The5LazyNinjas Agreed. Geez.
when they're hugging and the son goes "i love you dad" and all the dad can get out is "ieae loeaviou yeiuau touei..."
Whoa the tears!!! Beautiful absolutely BEAUTIFUL
He is the best dad,❤️❤️
Wow. This story made me cry. No words to describe what I feel. I’ll just let myself tear up for a few moments in respect for these 2 fine men, and the gentleman who brought the story....,🤣😌😌😌😌😌
Just awesome!
That is awesome stuff. The ultimate way to show respect and to honor the man who stepped up and helped mold him into the man he has become. Good job young man.
He's a big handsome dude 😍😍😍💖💖💖💖
He’s not his father, but he’s is his dad.
They look enough alike to be related anyways
I lost my father in 2008. We were real close, he was one of my best friends. I take solace missing him seeing stories like these. I'm a father with a 15 year old son who means everything to me now. I tell him the only thing I'm concerned with is him being a better man and father than I am. If you're a father, that's the goal. Salute to George and every man out there that steps up, even if not a father...uncles, cousins, mentors, whatever the capacity. Boys need male figures and children need love and support.
I hope my step daughters feel this way in 10 years when they’re around this age, and I know it’s on me to make them feel this way🙏🏼
So beautiful!!! They are meant to be father and son!!
Real man!!! Beautiful!!!!
UA-cam recommendation... got me again. Heartwarming story!
"He may have been your father, but he was not you daddy"-Yondu 2017
Nothing better than the love of a father. 😍😍
True love between family can not be better described and shown!!!
Beautiful story and a wonderful surprise to the man that has been his Dad!
He made me cry, what a wonderful dad and son 😭😭💖
Family is not about DNA. Family is about love, caring, and commitment. These two men have it in spades.
So freakin cool!!! I miss my dad so much. He was my best friend. Life is much better being with the one's you love.
Made me Cry,,
Awesome....
He ain't my blood but he's my, he's my boy 🎵
Awww, that's his dad for sure, no step involved...
He’s amazing and the love is huge between them both god bless you both ♥️
Bless that father! You changed this young mans life!
Rhat is amazing! Most step dad are less than...this is great!
Family is much more than just biology-- family is love. What a beautiful story.
A big man with a much bigger heart... 😍😍😍😍
.. RESPECT ..
When I was little I wished that there would have been (at least) one man who cared enough to want to be a fatherly figure to me like this 🤔😑😞
A lot of respect to you and your Dad big man!
This was beautiful! 😢
How can people not like this..
Aww what a wonderful son and dad !
CBS....I got to hand it to you, ever since I was a little kid, now in my 50s, no one has ever had the talent for touching the heart like y’all!
OMG. I can't take this video. I am in tears. This is so sweet.
WOW/ WOW. That is so moving. What a good kid.
Yup, he ain't a step dad, hes a dad that stepped up!!!!
I LOVE MY DAD AND I LOVE MY KIDS, FAMILY IS NOT EVERYTHING BUT IT'S THE ONLY THING.
What a handsome personable guy 🌟
Awesome to see a man crying of happyness
I can't stop crying.
Gratitude, morals, respect, honor, etc. are not hereditary they are learned behaviors.
My uncles took my grandpa’s last name. He was the father they knew. My mom, aunt, & uncles even did a “blood sibling” ceremony when they were kids to make sure they all shared the same blood. There were never any steps in my family. I was almost a teenager before I found out I had no biological ties to my grandma. Never once thought of her as anything but my grandma. Families are created in the heart.
