I've been taking my family for summer holidays, based in Roker, for the last 10 years...mind you my eldest asked if we could go somewhere warm this year so we went to Spain. We've had only great times, some fantastic weather, practically empty beaches, met great new friends and kept in touch with old ones... We'd have a ton of tourists from the continent if it wasn't so expensive to get here by ferry.
