    Great video! You make it looks super easy. Can't wait until i try it out. Quick question for you. When you let it set the first time and then wait half hour to top off with more wax (the final layer) do you have to reheat to 60C again? I assume the wax would be set so reheating would need to be done.

    • @motorhead25

      sorry. i meant to say 'I assume the remaining wax in the heating container to set up and need to be reheated. Hope that makes sense. :)

      Hi @@motorhead25 we would recommend heating the final layer of wax to the exact same temperature that the original wax was poured. 🙂

    What is the tin size and what is the wicks you used?

    • @CosyOwl

      The tin size is 250ml and we used TCR 33/18 in this video, but ECO 14 wicks would also be suitable. We include a wick guide on our containers - www.cosyowl.com/candle-tins/rose-gold-round-candle-tin-with-welded-side-seam---250ml to help when testing wicks :)

    Hi again, can I ask how to you dispose of any wax that might be left over and how do you clean everything without blocking drains? Hope that isn’t a silly question

    • @CosyOwl
      @CosyOwl  Рік тому +1

      Hi Jules, we do not recommend pouring products like this down the drain. Paper towel is good for cleaning the wax carefully whilst it is still warm and then safely disposing this in the bin. Alternatively, the wax can be reheated and used again for another project.

      @@CosyOwl great thanks. And sorry another question. I am in the process of doing a large order from your website hence all the questions. Are any of the fragrances useable for candles and wax melts? As in do they cross over usage wise? Or would essential oils be for candles more, for example? Also do you state on each product the flash point? I noticed in your video you said lavender for 65 degrees? And the ratio of fragrance to wax? Or do I need to look this up really? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you for your speedy replies.

    • @CosyOwl
      @CosyOwl  Рік тому

      @@julesmorgan7747 Fragrance oils can be used for wax melt or candle making. The flash point temperature can be found under each fragrance oil in the description on our website. Each wax will have a recommended ratio of fragrance oil. It would be best to check on each of our wax listings for this. The fragrance load can vary between 6-10%. We also have some great guides on our website here for working out measurements: cosyowl.com/guides/category/faq

      @@sararoseto178 Wicking candle with wooden wicks is always a tricky task, im afraid we do not stock any larger wick than this so you may want to go far smaller and use two wicks in the container.

      Hi there,
      The type of wick you use is dependent on what wax you are using, if you are using any additives and what size your candle is. We have attached a link below that may be helpful to you. www.cosyowl.com/guides/percentages-and-measurements/

    Why do some people heat the container before pouring the wax?

    • @CosyOwl
      @CosyOwl  11 місяців тому

      Hi, warming the container can help with wax adhesion to a candle container. It means that the hot wax doesn't have a shock of a cold container and therefore can cool slower. This also can help prevent frosting too.

    • @CosyOwl
      @CosyOwl  3 роки тому

      Hello - we would recommend not using table spoon for measurements as it's more tricky to be accurate. In this video, we used 15g of Lavender Essential Oil which makes up a 3% ratio for our 500g of wax. It is always recommended to weigh your fragrance (grams) to be exact, like Victoria has done in this video.
