I’ve never heard of “Standard”, so I learned something new. I like those old Case knives, but 90% of the new ones I’ve bought have problems, as compared to the Rough Ryders and Rose Craft which are usually flawless. Thanks for another enjoyable video.
Rough Ryder definitely taps more heavily into the collector market. Not that they aren’t great users, but, I think Case probably leans more into that. I say that as a guy who only owns one Case knife though. Great breakdown of the details, brother!
For me the Case pricing, limits my collecting them, also especially when Rough Ryder knives have some nice stuff that comes in under the 20- dollar mark, Case does the best when it comes to the bone scales, though. Thank you, very good info in this video.
I collect almost exclusively based on handle materials that I like, regardless of maker. I have never seen you review anything from Santa Fe Stoneworks. They make some cool stuff.
@m.dwightsweezy7361 I don't think of Bear and Son or buck as a collector knife co. Not that you can't collect them, they just don't have the selection of Case, Frost, or Rough Ryder. You see what I mean?
My reason for buying Case knives is the Case brand is a USA original name brand. The slip joint patterns conform closer to original old knife patterns. Case models continue with producing more patterns and enable buying the same pattern every year unchanged. Case knives hold their value, provide a lifetime warranty, and repair service. Because I live in Pennsylvania, I prefer to buy American made knives if I like the model and buy ones I see I like. Case caters to knife collectors and enables an accurate system for collecting model years and patterns. Case has boundless models from new models to very old models available. Case seems to be a standard people compare to other brands of knives most often. I hear said, it is as good as a Case and costs less, or is better than a Case and costs more. I also hear more people complain about Case knives quality. More often than not, compared unfairly more than doing a fair comparison. Case I believe does not send out free knives to selected knife channels for reviews. 👍
@@mikeadams2538 Case will repair or replace any Case knife if returned to them. They also stand behind knives without question that are defective. I have personally returned knives with problems that need attention, all returned corrected. If you are unsatisfied with with the quality, I would not buy them. That is a simple personal choice you have to decide for yourself. 👍
@@rasputinscastle I am no Case Fanboy, just telling it how it is. Case makes knives I am not fond of and I do not buy them. Why buy something you are not satisfied with if you are able to return it or have it fixed. If you buy a pair of shoes on the internet and there to small you don’t keep them, you return them for a refund or for a pair that fits.😅🤣

Come and see the Case “Highbanks” I bought recently. It is *junk*. Not just poor quality build, but poor design….
