Cat content! I actually really enjoy sanding, always found it quite soothing. Also, I want to go find these monsters who didn't appreciate solid wood bench tops!
There is a lot to envy on the ingredients you find salvaged! Ones I can find tend to be more of plywood and more likely particle board!!! Really good reuse of material! 👍
This is awesome that you guys and HiKOKI did this, and hope it motivates more people to build things. For many years all I used was a hand saw and drill. Am fortunate to have a nice shop like yours now, but it shouldn't dissuade or stop those who don't.
Couldn’t agree more. I hate it when people feel discouraged by watching people who have better or more tools. The important thing is to approach things by thinking “how can I do that with what I have” and there’s nearly always a way! 👍
You know I'm not really a power tool guy but man I'm impressed at how well that circular saw got through that thick oak! Also kudos to you for using a workmate, ever since I used one to make my workbench I just can't go back to them....all that wobbling! Lovely project Keith and great video, love the legs.
@@RagnBoneBrown I'd love to see a video explaining how you find and salvage wood. I can never seem to find much more than particle board or cheap plywood.
Great video ..im loving the new format with the voice over and intro .. id love it if you finished your intro with the ultimate classic line ...."and dont forget there is no more important tool than to wear these ...safety glasses" 😁.. p.s dont dis that old B and D workmate to much .. i still find a use for mine quite often . 😁
Very nice build Keith and it looks like you have to either keep one, or build another one for your cat as he has defo claimed one. Sorry i don't use Instagram to enter the comp, but good luck to everyone who does enter. Barry (Wirral, ENG)
Good job I Like these Keith. I’m always a bit jealous when tool companies give you tubers all these tools. This isn’t a dig at you, You deserve them and I love your content, but having spent £1000’s on Dewalt tools as a plumber over the years it’s like where’s our wee freebie.
Yeah, I’m very fortunate to be in a position to be given them for free, and to have such an amazing tool manufacturer supporting my channel. I like to see it as a nice supplement to UA-cam ad revenue though which is very much needed. Honestly if it wasn’t for Patreon and support from HiKOKI I wouldn’t still be doing it, it just wouldn’t be financially viable
Good stuff mate. High quality hat & coat stand salvage use once again lol. Just for a minute there I was like "ooh...Hikoki doing a Bosch/Festool style flat top belt sander". Then realised it was a Bosch. Have to say, Hikoki's cordless mitre saw looks legit. Got to play with one recently. See if you can pull on those sponsorship strings a bit to try one out Kieth ;)
Yeah it was indeed the Bosch, although HiKOKI make one too, I just haven’t got my hands on one yet. I should hopefully be getting one of the mitre saws soon! Looking forward to trying it out and suspect my long serving Axminster White’s days may be numbered!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Good idea to show and point out again that it's not necessary to have tons of tools to have a project done. I do not have a plainer, joiner, table saw and many other tools. But I do have (nearly) all the tools you used in the videos (other brands, though) I see limitations in my attempts to make something more as a problem of lacking skills and experience (tools don't do anything alone, if you don't know to work with them). One thing I missed at the end of the video. Mostly you mention it, now you did not. How much time did you spend on making the three cat bed cabinets together? Or did you forget to count it this time?
Cheers Hans! I was going to talk more about the project at the end like I normally do but the video was getting quite long with all the additional sponsorship stuff so I ended up cutting some of it out. I actually did forget how long this one took though! It was a very stop and start project because I had to work around lots of bad weather! 😂
Yeah for me I was 1 k !!! But it you ask me there should be should be more likes. I love the visitor. I want to try this but I do not have a router any suggestions?
I like his videos, however limited tools they are not, theres £500+ of power tools there, i wouldn't call that limited, good vid though keep them coming!!
You can pick up a circular saw for £50 a drill/driver for £30 and a belt sander for £40! You don’t need to use the exact same tools as me. Use what you have
@@RagnBoneBrown beginning of the video you said hikoki challenged you and two others to making a project with just a saw driver and drill.. got it from your video, words from your mouth.. 🤔
Hmmm.... sorry Keith, but this is the very first of your videos that I've thumbed down. Not being critical of your skills and workmanship (that's great) just not a fan of these "types" of video
@JSTR chill, no need for an overreaction. It's not my first comment and probably won't be my last, it's simply the first video that Keith's put out that I've felt the need to "thumb down". That is all. I'm not criticising, which you perhaps would have realised, had your first reaction not be to assume I'm a "Troll". From my perspective (as a long-time subscriber to Keith's channel) I'm simply not enjoying brand sponsored/focused videos as much as his earlier videos, that is all. I see it as a slippery slope if you will, a direction many UA-camrs take that, in my opinion, detracts from what these channels set out to be in the first place, to share knowledge, showcase craftsmanship and provide an enjoyable experience watching someone with skill make something useful or beautiful. I'm not even sure why I'm even trying to explain myself to you, an annoyed stranger, in the comments section of a UA-cam video!? I fear it's all in vain and will undoubtedly fall on deaf ears... It's clear only swooning and fawning comments, heaping praise etc. are acceptable in your eyes, apologies for trying to be constructive 😊👍
@@RagnBoneBrown that question of yours has only just come through Keith, please see my reply to your "keyboard bodyguard" above fella. As you ask though, in reality, if I had a UA-cam Maker channel and a brand like Hikoki wanted to collaborate, then who knows, I may do exactly the same. However, having said that, I dont think you need to. Your content is good enough already and your channel is improving over time, without any of these types of video. It was meant as an opinion, and hopefully a constructive one. If it's taken differently, it may be down to the way I delivered it, or (as seen from the other replier) it's simply a case of constructive criticism not being welcome. Hey, we could all pretend everything everyone does is amazing and keep our 'negatuve' comments to ourselves, but then where would we all be....
@JSTR Still not a Troll, but I'll let you believe what your tiny mind wants to believe. I guess I originally thought me saying "type" of video was enough as it was clear what I was referring g to, hence me not originally going into too much detail. Perhaps you just read it literally as written, hence your response, I understand now how you processed it. I assumed Keith would have known what I meant as well, taken that info on board and dealt with it as he saw fit - ignore it or bear it in mind. You see, it was really a thinly disguised constructively critical comment designed to be of assistance, that is, until you jumped in there 😂
Yeah I understand what you’re saying, but also I need to make a living ✌️as a viewer I enjoy non sponsored content more too but it’s not a perfect world
ALWAYS happy to see Dylan the shop supervisor make a cameo!! scratch him behind the ears for me! :)
Between the design, the idea of using basic tools, and the craftsmanship, this is a big win. Excellent video! Congrats on the Hikoki sponsorship!
Thank you!
Great job Keith Dylan looks very much at home in his little snuggle box 😁 great video mate 👍🏼

Pure monsters Holly ! lol
So _you're_ the other one who enjoys it! My favourite part of any build is sanding.
Come on over to my house, we've got two friendly cats and plenty to sand!
There’ll be people queuing up to hire you now !
I don’t want this to sound patronising but your voice overs have come on so much. Great energy to this one. Keep up the great work.
I love the design and how versatile it is . Great job !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and of course the best legs ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Never underestimate the humble Workmate. I've had mine for 30 years and it's still reliable within limits.
Mines been in the garden for three years in all weather and somehow still works!

Great video. So lucky you can scavenge such great wood. Those Hikoki tools look awesome. Glad they are supporting the maker community. Cheers! : )
How many of those hat and coat stands could you possibly have left?
I think it was the last of the oak ones but I have some mahogany ones left 😀

The sander looks extremely similar to the metabo turbo sander.
It may be the same, HiKOKI operate as Metabo HPT in the USA I think?
