I can definitely see a couple of different scenarios where Ghost Rider wins and a couple of different scenarios where Superman wins. If Zarathos did take over, though, I would say more times than not Superman would lose. If Zarathos didn't take over and it was Johnny Blaze in control, more times than not, Superman would win.
Ghost rider body is made of hellfire so even if supes punches him hard enough to break him he would just pull the bones back into the hellfire. Even if he didn’t pull the bones back together his body would be all hellfire which would make it harder I think.

Ghost rider’s hellfire would be ineffective against superman as we’ve seen him tank etrigan hellfire on multiple occasions which is stated to burn your body and soul. 2. The penance stare wouldn’t work because superman has no regrets about his actions which are always in good faith. That’s the same reason it didn’t work on deacon. 3. It doesn’t matter if Zarathos takes over because superman has faced stronger magic power like when he took a magical blast from Xanadoth the orginal lord of chaos and was said to put all of existence in immediate danger. 4. Superman’s abilities and attacks aren’t just physical Danco, you left out the fact that he can absorb souls like he did against eradicator, he can destroy phantom strangers metaphysical form with his punches, he can destroy ghost and freeze ghosts/spirits.

Cross over comparisons are tough. In actuality Superman would find a way to win since that’s within his character. Top versions of Superman take top versions of ghost rider. Also, the penance stare isn’t an automatic win. It likely doesn’t work on Superman and in general it has a limit. I like to think of it as certain characters of a certain power are just immune to it. Would the penance stare work on the living tribunal? A beyonder? Etc etc

Ghost Rider may or may not be as physically powerful as Superman but is much more powerful than 5 - 20 tons. This is made clear in season four of agents of shield which takes place after the avengers had their civil war, we find out that shield has upgraded their containment modules. Leo Fitz states that the adaptive compound they created in their new containment modules is the most sophisticated that shield has ever made. Making it more durable than the vibranium unit that Hulk was kept in and Ghost Rider is able to break out of this new containment unit. Once Ghost Rider does break out of the containment unit Fitz goes on to say "that's not possible". This line of dialogue is very interesting, as shield would have very detailed dossiers on each and every avenger and know the relative strength of each especially at this point as Thor and Iron Man were able to break apart Sokovia together which is calculated at over 100 megatons. So Fitz claiming that this should be impossible is extremely impressive for Ghost Rider as it implies that neither Thor, Iron Man or Hulk should be able to break out of it with the power levels that the shield agents are aware of.

I think Superman is mentally strong enough to beat off the penance stare. He broke out of Wonder Woman's lasso of truth. But I've been thinking, just like Superman overcomes enemies with strength of the body, wouldn't his mind also work the same way? Wouldn't he build up some sort of immunity to magic after constantly being exposed to it?
Superman is mentally tough enough to survive the penance stare. He has dedication and principles and he would never allow his mind to be destroyed by any amount of torture, but even after surviving the penance stare, it would surely demoralize him. Coming face-to-face with all the suffering that he has caused others would make him doubt that he is doing the right thing by being Superman. It wouldn't be the first time he's had such doubts. So he would survive the stare, and then just voluntarily surrender the fight, unwilling to throw another punch and add any more suffering to his resume.
Penance stare is not something one could overcome by sheer will. It literally cares not about how mentally strong or good you are, if you've caused anyone pain and sorrow, you're fucked.

I think the issue with the penance stare on Superman is the fact that Superman gathers hope and it’s from that hope that he gets even more powerful. I think penance stare backfires. But I’m not a pure comic nerd so I have no clue if that’s actually true true there might be something written a storyline somewhere that prevents that from happening.

Just a point about Supes vs magic. In JL, Wonder Woman's magic lasso has full affect on Aquaman. Granted he is not Supes, but he IS a powerful resilient superhero that far exceeds a normal person. He can't resist it, period. Now when Supes has WW's lasso on him it does affect him a bit, but when he actively resists, the lasso has ZERO affect on him. Not saying Supes is immune to magic, not at all, but he has proven he can resist it.... so how readily can he resist other magic?

My issue with this is the youtuber states in one area of this video that they will just write off canon events that they don't like. Just so powers work how they want it to. One such case is how the stare doesn't work on the punisher cause he has no regreats for the things he had done. All cause it doesn't fit the narrative this youtuber wants. For me that makes this comparison incomplete, bias, and faulse or flawed. Doesn't mean adding these things changes the outcome but does change the reason for the outcome or how it comes to be. I don't know who he thinks wins i stopped after he admited to ignoring such cannon events.
I am almost ashamed that I never even considered or wondered why Ghost Rider was never re-introduced into the MCU. BUT, to be completely fair (and this is only my personal opinion) it somewhat would feel out of place to Ghost Rider tearing it up on a hot rod while fighting Thanos. I still would love to see another iteration of this character.

These people would be considered to have been wrongfully hurt by Blade, which if under the power of the Darkhold, they would have been. Can you even find one person, normal, hero, or villain, that could be considered a victim of Superman, someone who repeatedly talks people from jumping off ledges and would fly across galaxies just to save one life. Superman is a shield. A Guardian against danger. The one person that you can count on to never stop trying to save you. Even his greatest foes call upon him for help, because they know he'll deliver. Everyone knows about Supes not using full force on people, but Wiskoa the Trainer from Apokolips explained it the best by saying that Kal can't use his full power to hurt anyone because he thinks of himself as a shield, and reserves his power for protecting others, not for fighting. It's almost psychologically impossible for Superman to hurt anyone, he's more likely to be hurt helping and protecting others then to hurt someone trying to save someone else. So it's impossible for the stare to hurt Superman, and even if it could how much pain could Superman have inflicted in his entire comic book history for it to even matter. Supes versus Zanatos, I mean Supes fights Gods, regularly, two or more at a time, and wins. So whatever on that, but saying the penance stare would do anything to the only hero more wholesome in comics than Steve Rogers, then i have only two words for you, READ COMICS!

3-Hellfire burns everything, even innocent people.
4- Ghost Rider can only be hurt by weapons forged in Heaven, only if the host has control on his body, he can get hit and knocked out, but the more conteol the spirit of vengeange has, more invencible he turns.
5- Ghost Rider would destroy Superman in a fight with all, but GR can also just ignore or avoid killing Superman as he's not a menace to society.

I can definitely see a couple of different scenarios where Ghost Rider wins and a couple of different scenarios where Superman wins. If Zarathos did take over, though, I would say more times than not Superman would lose. If Zarathos didn't take over and it was Johnny Blaze in control, more times than not, Superman would win.
Ghost rider body is made of hellfire so even if supes punches him hard enough to break him he would just pull the bones back into the hellfire. Even if he didn’t pull the bones back together his body would be all hellfire which would make it harder I think.

Danco this video was wrong in so many ways.
1. Ghost rider’s hellfire would be ineffective against superman as we’ve seen him tank etrigan hellfire on multiple occasions which is stated to burn your body and soul.
2. The penance stare wouldn’t work because superman has no regrets about his actions which are always in good faith. That’s the same reason it didn’t work on deacon.
3. It doesn’t matter if Zarathos takes over because superman has faced stronger magic power like when he took a magical blast from Xanadoth the orginal lord of chaos and was said to put all of existence in immediate danger.
4. Superman’s abilities and attacks aren’t just physical Danco, you left out the fact that he can absorb souls like he did against eradicator, he can destroy phantom strangers metaphysical form with his punches, he can destroy ghost and freeze ghosts/spirits.
This is why there are so many superman haters. New power levels and abilities are just used for any opponent stronger than him. Few writers can create good superman stories.
There's little hate for Kara because she's interesting and not constantly being messed with powers wise.

Cross over comparisons are tough. In actuality Superman would find a way to win since that’s within his character. Top versions of Superman take top versions of ghost rider. Also, the penance stare isn’t an automatic win. It likely doesn’t work on Superman and in general it has a limit. I like to think of it as certain characters of a certain power are just immune to it.

Ghost Rider may or may not be as physically powerful as Superman but is much more powerful than 5 - 20 tons. This is made clear in season four of agents of shield which takes place after the avengers had their civil war, we find out that shield has upgraded their containment modules.
Leo Fitz states that the adaptive compound they created in their new containment modules is the most sophisticated that shield has ever made. Making it more durable than the vibranium unit that Hulk was kept in and Ghost Rider is able to break out of this new containment unit.
Once Ghost Rider does break out of the containment unit Fitz goes on to say "that's not possible". This line of dialogue is very interesting, as shield would have very detailed dossiers on each and every avenger and know the relative strength of each especially at this point as Thor and Iron Man were able to break apart Sokovia together which is calculated at over 100 megatons.
So Fitz claiming that this should be impossible is extremely impressive for Ghost Rider as it implies that neither Thor, Iron Man or Hulk should be able to break out of it with the power levels that the shield agents are aware of.
Ghost Rider has no pathway to victory here.

But I've been thinking, just like Superman overcomes enemies with strength of the body, wouldn't his mind also work the same way? Wouldn't he build up some sort of immunity to magic after constantly being exposed to it?
Superman is mentally tough enough to survive the penance stare. He has dedication and principles and he would never allow his mind to be destroyed by any amount of torture, but even after surviving the penance stare, it would surely demoralize him. Coming face-to-face with all the suffering that he has caused others would make him doubt that he is doing the right thing by being Superman. It wouldn't be the first time he's had such doubts. So he would survive the stare, and then just voluntarily surrender the fight, unwilling to throw another punch and add any more suffering to his resume.

I think the issue with the penance stare on Superman is the fact that Superman gathers hope and it’s from that hope that he gets even more powerful. I think penance stare backfires. But I’m not a pure comic nerd so I have no clue if that’s actually true true there might be something written a storyline somewhere that prevents that from happening.

Just a point about Supes vs magic. In JL, Wonder Woman's magic lasso has full affect on Aquaman. Granted he is not Supes, but he IS a powerful resilient superhero that far exceeds a normal person. He can't resist it, period. Now when Supes has WW's lasso on him it does affect him a bit, but when he actively resists, the lasso has ZERO affect on him. Not saying Supes is immune to magic, not at all, but he has proven he can resist it.... so how readily can he resist other magic?

My issue with this is the youtuber states in one area of this video that they will just write off canon events that they don't like. Just so powers work how they want it to. One such case is how the stare doesn't work on the punisher cause he has no regreats for the things he had done. All cause it doesn't fit the narrative this youtuber wants.
For me that makes this comparison incomplete, bias, and faulse or flawed. Doesn't mean adding these things changes the outcome but does change the reason for the outcome or how it comes to be.

I'm starting to think this is a meme with this guy and Superman. I know he's doing this for views, but come on, the Penance stare works on Superman??? Even if the stare works on anyone with a soul, what pain has Superman EVER INFLICTED ON ANYONE??? If you're saying the stare works on anyone that's ever inflicted pain, ever, then your example doesn't fit, because it said in the comic that Blade was being punished by the pain of his "victims", not for just hurting people. These people would be considered to have been wrongfully hurt by Blade, which if under the power of the Darkhold, they would have been. Can you even find one person, normal, hero, or villain, that could be considered a victim of Superman, someone who repeatedly talks people from jumping off ledges and would fly across galaxies just to save one life.
Superman is a shield. A Guardian against danger. The one person that you can count on to never stop trying to save you. Even his greatest foes call upon him for help, because they know he'll deliver. Everyone knows about Supes not using full force on people, but Wiskoa the Trainer from Apokolips explained it the best by saying that Kal can't use his full power to hurt anyone because he thinks of himself as a shield, and reserves his power for protecting others, not for fighting. It's almost psychologically impossible for Superman to hurt anyone, he's more likely to be hurt helping and protecting others then to hurt someone trying to save someone else. So it's impossible for the stare to hurt Superman, and even if it could how much pain could Superman have inflicted in his entire comic book history for it to even matter.
Supes versus Zanatos, I mean Supes fights Gods, regularly, two or more at a time, and wins. So whatever on that, but saying the penance stare would do anything to the only hero more wholesome in comics than Steve Rogers, then i have only two words for you, READ COMICS!
