I am a BMW tech in Texas and those e30s are such a pain in the ass! Much respect for your work because its never simple, parts are not available and nobody understands what we do so they can't appreciate the minor victories on these barnacles.
I like how they job starts as a horrible mess of rust and holes with no clear path forward, and ends with a couple of complex shaped pieces of metal neatly stitched into place like it was always meant to be that way. This channel shows what real skill and artistry with metalwork really is !
@redfields5070 I said some not all. Plus even if there are equally skilled craftsmen they don't funnel it into the same awesome specialist shops as in the UK. The legend of "Men in Sheds" is kinda exclusive to the UK.
I myself done this 25÷ years ago, restoring mk2 1600 sport, alot of hand tools, wooden blocks to form , nice to see a true craftsman at work, especially with these modern and traditional methods. Thank you, brings back happy memories 👍
Watching these videos is like watching art being created. It looks like the repair is both stronger and prettier than the original BMW steel. Please keep sharing these videos, they are (for me) very therapeutic to watch. Thank you.
If Colin hadn't brought that E30 to you guy's it wouldn't have been long before it became only a pile of rust. So impressed with the restoration work. 👍
The most valuable tool in the workshop amongst 1,000s of pounds of equipment, still is the guy doing the thinking, prep and construction. Priceless work and content. Huge leap forward in the last few months with all your work and presentation. Cant get enough!
Add old school know how and techniques, throw in a few new and old tools, add in honesty and integrity and presto; the skills become TCR! Always the first channel I look for daily here in Perth, Western Australia. Can't get enough of it!
Another brilliant video. As a novice, I have learned so much watching these, but more they are absolutely mesmerizing watching you expertly craft these pieces. I look forward to each episode.
Amazing skills. I can't stop watching how you craft these shapes together, mate ! ...😮😊 love the editing, informative talks, and the enthusiasm Steve... you guy's are just the best 👌 . Looking forward to catching you guy's on the next video ❤ cheers, mate .Tim the Taffy, lol.. living on the Sunshine Coast Australia 🇦🇺
You guys are amazing! I think it would have been better to just jack up the radiator cap and drive a new car under it, but since Colin is a bit quirky, and tends to over do everything else, this project fits right into his world!
You’re extremely talented. I enjoy watching this video. I’m gonna drop a follow. Collins is one of my favorite UA-cam channels. He is absolutely brilliant. I can’t wait to continue watching the journey of this car. Get put back together and restored to former glory
This is peak chill. I talk to my patients about mindfullness and meditation /relaxation. This video epitomises it for me. I just zone away into the video and cant not feel happy. Nice one steve
Thank you for yet another amazing video. I just wish Colin could make a guest appearance. This would boost your platform. You deserve the recognition 😎👍🤞✔️
Guys, your work is amazing, informative, and full of inspiration and professionalism. I look forward to every new video. I like working with metal on my old vw. Thank you IN
Been watching this series since day one, first YCR videos. I continue to be amazed at your patience and skill level, great to see a bloke who knows his stuff do what he does. Watching the E30 regain its former integrity I can't help but think you curse the day you first considered this project. Onward and upward lad.
Absolutely top-notch work. It's too bad everyone doesn't care as much about quality, the world would truly be a better place. Thanks for another great video!
Absolutely amazing work. The detail, the precision, the completeness. I just keep wondering how this is cost effective. Is that BMW really worth the time and expense of fixing all that rust? How special is that car to Colin? Is this the car where he had his first backseat encounter with a girlfriend perhaps? And then the engine and hoses and rubber and plastic parts............. Why? I'm clearly not a car guy and don't understand the WHY. Love to watch you work though. Shows me anything is possible when you go to the right guy.
@@yorkshirecarrestoration It is truly amazing what you can do. Forming the parts from sheets is mesmerizing. Thank you for posting and keep up the awesome work you are doing.
I appreciate your working very hard my good man …and it makes for some very therapeutic viewing that’s for sure I absolutely love watching you fab and repair stuff ..nice work 👍
Your work is fascinating and skillful. That Colin better get that garage dug and put your restore in instead of the stupid deloren, I'm Joking. I love it
Point 1, great videos (both Porsches and the Datsun are amazing) they're both informative and generally enjoyable to watch. Point 2, you're gonna have to sneak in some secret agenty goodness into that BMW. Also, I know what that demon in yellow is, I would know those wheels anywhere!
I just can't understand how anyone has this knowledge and skill inside their head. I can't even type, my "the's" are usually "tehs". Been doing it for years, muscle memory must have set in, lol.
It is not a surprise why you are chosen to restore these precious cars , I am in total admiration of the skill and expertise and years of experience it takes to rebuild them , you make it look easy but I know it isn't
Hello 👋 good buddy Steve you and Ryan are the welders and fabricators in the world 🌎 ❤. That bmw was rusty my jaguar is a lot more rusty ive pretty much decided to use it for a parts car and find me one that's rust free. Tell everyone in the shop i said hello 👋 especially captain yorkshire 😉 he is a very good man and friend you all are you guys feel like family i wish I could meet you all.
Although its not rusty everywhere, the bits thay are are the most horrible places, top work though guys
And to think how nice it was when we first started stripping it! We will make it into a good one! Thanks for the support as always Colin!
i wish i understood why watching you guys fabricate and weld is so relaxing and theraputic. its just magic.
Thank you we do try to make it chilled :)
God created you..
to be creative...
It's the 80s style adult movie music that must be doing it lol
@@garryf1980 LOL - so we know what you watching 40 years ago. 🤣
@@garryf1980 porn music of the 70s and 80s was just video game music now, and there are some porn bangers out there
Thanks for the better music!!! Far less irritating and made the whole viewing experience so much better. You guys are legends!

“This is not just welding this is M and S welding”
Kinda reminds me of bagpus
I truly think Britain has some of the finest craftsmen in the world, and this video series is the proof.
No doubt these guys are great but you can't seriously believe that most other countries don't have craftsman of equal ability.

When you only work on a few cars per year.
Real labour of love😎 Excellent video.
Can't wait for the Lamborghini countach!!! Little glimpses here and there but that's one iconic wheel. Love the content

Great video Steve. And music that is quite acceptable to us old gits! I love your new format.
Such a joy to watch (while listening to your choice of relxing music), a true master fabricator.

Diablo I thought?..

I thought Diablo too, but not sure. They’re teasing us either way with a bit of Lambo side-boob!

Fantastic watching a master craftsman at work. A magician. The choice of music though reminds me of the foyer of our local pictures 😅
Love watching the old sheet metal techniques I was was taught 55 years ago.

amazing work steve brilliant

will the lazer tool burn off underseal or does it rely on an earth

You know what would suck, doing these rust repairs while the car is on the ground in your shed lol
👍
You tried using the laser on paint removal and the under seal? Does it work? Or is it just a bit burny and smelly?
How many fuckups did it take to get that good at your job? You are a true artist.
How many hours would you guesstomate to all the body work on that bmw?
I dread the final bill for this restoration :S
Let's see the transmission "tunnel" 😁👍.....
Is this a trial run for Colin's DeLorean
