Marshmallow Fondant, how to make it without Microwave | Two ways

Welcome back to my channel. In this video is all about how to make a Marshmallow Fondant from scratch.
I have shown here two ways in melting marshmallows, One is using a Microwave and the other one is using a Bain-Marie or Double Boiler method (pot with water).

Ingredients:
1 pack mini-mallows (283g)
(Available in any Grocery and Baking stores).
3 1/2 cups of Powdered sugar (sifted)
4 tbsp water
2 tsp tylose powder ( this is optional, but for me I advised to add coz it will help your fondant to become more pliable, firm and easy to dry).
Vegetable Shortening (for kneading to avoid sticky hands)
This fondant mixture can cover an 8" by 4" Round Cake. If you want to cover a bigger cakes or two layered cakes just multiply the ingredients.
Hope this will be a big help for all of you who wants to venture in baking specially the newbie bakers at home. And to those mommies and you guys who wants to make your own personalized birthday cakes for your love ones.💖 So this is it! Im giving you my recipe which I have been using for years from 2014 - 2018.

Yes you can, but if it will be store for overnight it would be much better to have good consistency.

Mas maganda wag ilagay sa fridge ang fondant Kasi possible siyang mag moist. But perhaps pwede naman siguro adjust kalang s cooling temp bawasan niyo po ang lamig Ng fridge. Maybe it will work.
Pwede ba sya ipatong sa whip cream frosting? And pwede dn ba sya after kneading or mould the marshmallow fondant direct sya sa ibabaw ng frosting?
Hello Chelsea! After kneading or prepping your fondant mas maganda store muna eto 24hrs para mag set siya at gumanda consistency. Yes pwede siya ipatong sa Whippit frosting but make sure the frosting has less water content para d mag soft si fondant. Thanks po.

Mam, pwede po bang i-substitute ung glocuse syrup sa tylose powder?
I'm not sure if glocuse can be called as substitute for tylose, since tylose add strength to fondant and so to make it dry quickly. I guess Glocuse can make ur fondant more pliable and tasty but not really sure or certain po since I have not tried using glocuse on fondant pa po.
Pg po large ung mallows, gaano po karami? & pwede po ba ung lard aside from vegetable shortening?
Hi Fatima! For 200 grams na marshmallow pwede kau mag lagay ng 1tbsp na water (just add another tbsp of water if needed) and 400 grams sifted powdered sugar. Thank you 😊

Mga months din po balutin niyo lang maigi mg clingwrap ying tirang fondant din ilagay niyo sa air tight container then store at room temperature.

D ko pa po nasubukan mag cover ng chiffon based na cake with fondant. But I guess pwede as long manipis ang fondant para Kya Niya ma hold ang bigat ng fondant or pag tiered cake dapat nasa top lang siya not bottom baka d kayanin ang weight

Keep at room temperature, avoid sa malamig ayaw ni marshmallow fondant ng moisture kaya nalambot eto.

Hello sis yes pero that was 3 years ago haha.. nakalimutan ko na pero just double the pack nlang sis. Meron extra yan but you can store the extra if meron man well wrapped at room temp para sa next project mo.

Pag nagawa na ba ung fondant cake ilalagay po ba sa ref for delivery tomrow
For me dati nag gagawa pa ako ng fondant cake d ko po siya nilalagay sa ref sa labas lang naka lagay na sa box to secure din po. if hindi overnight within the day pwede siya ilagay sa ref kahit ilang oras lang kasi pag matagal siya sa ref may tendency na mag moist yung fondant pag mag set eto at room temperature.

Hatiin mo nalang yung recipe po. But it's okay to make it the full recipe Kasi it last for months naman si fondant basta Tama yung storage, by the time na you need it meron ka nang naka ready po.

Where to buy tylose powder
At room temperature lang po store po sa air tight container covered well ng cling wrap si fondant and it can be store for months.
Available in any baking store po.

pano kapag walang vegetable shortening ? can i use butter ?
Hi Frandel, I guess pwede si butter even lard all of these are shortening fat naman in solid form. but since I have not tried using butter on fondant I'm not that certain sa result on fondant. I have seen someone using a lard instead of vegetable shortening okay din gamitin.
Crisco Veg. Shortening is highly recommended talaga for fondant Kaso Mahal siya. Meron nabibili na tingi tingi sa baking supplies pero local brand lang, anyways ginagamit ko siya when kneading lang naman sa fondant.

Be careful lang sa moisture Kasi yun ang ayaw ni marshmallow fondant once ma touch siya ng may moisture content nag sosoft siya but not malulusaw or matutunaw po.
Mam pano po maging shiny ung fondant?
Vegetable shortening nakaka help po na maging makintab ang fondant at good consistency.

As I have shown in the video two method ang ginawa ko one is brain marie lagyan ng mainit na tubig yung silver pot ipatong yung glass bowl mix hanggang mag melt ang mallows palitan ng mainit na tubig if you feel na kulang na sa init, or you can put the pot directly sa fire at medium heat let the water boil then ipatong yung bowl sa pot then mix mo hanggang matunaw ang mallows at sa tamang consistency na.
Hindi po maam yun pong nabalutan na sya ng plastic okay na po ba nun yon or ibabad pa po sa mainit na tubig or what??

Hi kyla! Since I mostly used fondant in packs and not tried to make it in 1k, so let us calculate nalang ☺️ in the video I used 283g marshmallows for that I added 4 tbsp of water. Lets compute☺️ Marshmallow (283g(pack)x3=849g+151g= 1000 g/1K
Water (4tbs x 3 = 12 tbsp +2 tbsp)
So, 1000g/1K Marshmallow wil add 14 tbsp Water or 1/3 cup + 4 tbsp (just add another tbsp of water if u check the consistency still needs water) hope this will help you po. ☺️

Yes it's fine, same water. Tylose powder is optional, if you want na mag set agad yung fondant mo you can add tylose powder lalo na pag nag gagawa ka ng toppers makakatulong na mag dry and a bit sturdy ng iyong toppers. You can apply nalang tylose sa part ng fondant na need gawin for cake toppers. But still optional.
