I’m glad you’ve expanded from tools to kitchen tools. Nobody does tests like you do, including big companies like consumer reports.
true !
After they destroyed the Suzuki reputation in America. I can never trust or support consumer reports.
PF is the real consumer reports 😅
I was looking for a specific kitchen tool, googled it, first 5 pages of results were all the same thing, no one actually tested them they just read amazon reviews, and then posted affiliate links, I stopped looking because I couldn't find a single person that had actually used one
@@psedog What they do?
I agree his test are more like the real world test.
A big benefit of the Vita-Mix that you don't mention is that it is fully rebuildable. I run a restaurant and we have all Vita-Mix blenders in the kitchen and bar, and the rebuild kits are relatively cheap and replace all wear parts off the motor. You can run these things all day for years and when the clutches start slipping or the teeth on the drive gear get worn, it takes about 5 minutes to replace them and you're back up and running for another year or two. The motor is also pretty much indestructible, so these things are basically immortal. Makes the price a little bit easier to swallow.
Most home users won't be running them nearly as much as you. The time interval for a breakdown may be an extremely long time. You are correct though. You pay for industrial grade construction and most of the time you will get it.
Thanks for sharing.
So it's the Maytag of blenders?
I'm really sad to hear about the rebuild kits. I've been trying to wear out my 20 year old Vitamix so I can check out newer models. 😞 There is a reason you see Vitamix on so many of the cooking shows.
@boblove2796 I got mine from Costco for around $300. There is no need to spend $600+. It's a real nice blender, and I'll probably never need to replace it.
This one hits close to home. My son was on a blenderized diet for most of his life. After chewing through a number of different food processors and blenders, we finally pulled the trigger on the Vitamix. We picked it up as a factory reconditioned model from a kitchen store at an outlet mall. Full warranty and it only set us back about $250. It looked and operated like brand new.
We used this blender for over 13 years and it withstood a lot of use. The power switch failed on us once. Still within the 10 year warranty time period (yes, 10 years), they asked us to send the whole unit with upper jar/lid and everything. We explained what we used the blender for, they had a replacement sent for us a few days later to use as a loaner while they fixed ours.
A week and a half later we received our old blender back. it returned to us with the power switch assembly replaced as well as a whole new upper jar (which included a new blade, lid, and tamper). I am assuming that if there were any other internals that needed replacing, they probably did that too. As to this day, it is still running strong.
SO, say what you will about the expensive price tag. If you want a blender to withstand the test of time AND be backed by an excellent company with a warranty that beats them all, then Vitamix is the only way to go.
Thanks for sharing.
What model was it?
Probably 5200.
@@fackeyutub-emael6545 it was the 5300
I agree - Vitamix is worth every penny. I have been using mine for about 13 years and have had an excellent experience. Really terrific customer service if there are any problems. If this one ever dies, I will replace it with another Vitamix.
The amount of work you put into these videos is valuable. Thank you.
You are welcome!
I love how quick you go from test to test, blender to blender, not wasting anybody’s time and just getting straight to the point.
Thanks!
It's awesome! He's clear, and speaks coherently.
I'm getting ads for blenders on all my socials now though 🤣🤣
Why he deserves every single subscription.
Meanwhile every other youtuber is shouting: "HEY GUYS THANKS FOR CLICKING. LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE. LATER ON IN THIS VIDEO WE'RE GOING TO TEST THING BUT FIRST..."
At the beginning I couldn't really think of how you'd measure how good a blender is at blending. Your tests are always so well thought out.
Thank you!
I think it is important to note that there are other Vita-Mix models that are cheaper that also preform quite well. You can get a good Vita-Mix in the $350 range.
Thanks for the feedback.
Bro said cheap
Suggestion: Portable refrigerator/ freezers for travelers!
It also important to note the fantastic 5, 7 and 10 year warranties offered on the American made Vitamix blenders.
Just bought it.
I bought a no frills Vitamix 5300 from Costco in 2017. My speed control knob is better quality than one you reviewed. We make fruit and veggie smoothies daily. This blender is a beast. I paid around $400 at the time I believe. We burned up several cheaper blenders before trying the Vitamix. I was hesitant but glad I bought it now.
Thanks for sharing.
No matter how well the cheap blenders perform. They won’t last as long as a Vitamix. I’ve had a vita mix in our family for over 20 years without breaking down. Where I go through magic bullet after magic bullet as the motor burns out
My friend did the same thing, her Vita-mix is 5 years old now and still working great.
This is fantastic! I’ve gone through many blenders in my time. Everything is plastic and not made with quality. So far the best blender is still my Mom’s Oster blender from the 1970’s. It was thick, robust, and the blades were massive. Also, it has a glass container and still has that yellowing plastic color on the exterior housing. It has stood the test of time and still working to this day. Manufacturers have abandoned that kind of quality. Great work Project Farm!
You don't want glass lol
@@svenjorgensenn8418 i don't want you here.
Thank you!
@@svenjorgensenn8418 I prefer glass. Plastic easily scratch up, and they leech toxic chemicals to boot.
planned obsolescence
If you ever do blenders again, maybe do the Blendtec blender, since they have made themselves quite famous on UA-cam with their Will it Blend series, where they try to blend non food items such as IPhones or bricks. It would be interesting to see how it stacks up to the other blenders.
Blendtec is as expensive as Vitamix and always comes in 2nd place.
Yep.. only thing missing in an otherwise awesome round up.
I agree. I love our blendtec
@@GerardPinzonecomes in second to the vitamix?
AvE did a BOLTR on that thing. Go peep that.

Best video out of all the blender comparison videos, thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I couldn’t decide between the nutribullet or the ninja and your video help me make a better informed decision. My blenders keep breaking at the 2-year mark, but they also were cheap blenders like the Hamilton and Walmart Mainstays (hint hint, a video of blender brands that make it past the 2-year mark). I wish I had stumbled across your video sooner and didn’t waste my time watching all those other videos.
Thanks and you are welcome!
As a home gardener with a quasi-chef hobby, I decided to splurge on a Vitamix earlier this year. It's a beast for sure. I freeze whole garden tomatoes and can throw them into the blender, frozen, with some spices and other vegetables and create a too-hot-to-eat tomato soup totally by friction in about six minutes. From frozen! Smoothies are great. Blackberry seeds, which I despise, disappear. I have the A3500 model. This is an amazing blender; I have not needed to use the plunger and I have used this machine a lot. One thing you did not cover was the warranty. Vitamix has a full 10 year warranty including the jar and lid. They also pay shipping both directions for warranty repairs as they doubt you will ever need it. I believe they state less than 2% have had an issue. I ordered mine on sale from Macys plus received a $100 credit for opening a cc account so my cost was substantially lower than list, but it is still expensive. First time I have commented. Really enjoy your videos.
Great feedback on the Vitamix and great point on the warranty.
Hands down best blender. And I threw a fit when my wife’s mother bought it for us. Too much money, yet worth every penny.
…a lot more pennies today.
I got a refurbished one on sale from their website so it also included warranty. It is my absolute favorite appliance in the kitchen. It does exactly what you need it to!
I own the 750 tested here. Bought directly from Vitamix for $399 on Black Friday. I'd also mention it has a self-cleaning mode, the blades are intentionally not sharpened, it has a power switch on the side. It's massive overkill for most kitchens, but I know people with 30-year-old models running strong. Great video, as always!
I'm going on about 10 years now with my Vitamix 5200, just replaced the container, but nothing else. Gets used once a week at least and it's by far the best kitchen appliance I've ever purchased.
The initial cost hurts, no doubt. But it pays for itself year after year.
I have only had 2 Vitamix since 1976 and I could have rebuilt the 1st one but they had made so many improvements in the 20+ years that I elected to buy a new one. Now the 2nd one is over 20 years old and it's still going! :) And I think Project Farm is the Vitamix of of equipment testing! Thank You!
You are welcome!
Which improvements? I did actual technical research on them some while back and the most improvements is electronics and touchscreens that are less durable than the older designs.
Mostly they just add some fancy logic instead of turning a button yourself and/or detect the container used, which is totally useless.
@@kjeldschouten-lebbing6260 Based on the dates he gave, he bought his second one earlier than 1976 and his first one earlier than 1956. I don't think he's talking about the modern versions.
@@duckadence No. "Since 1976" is the date of the first purchase. It lasted 20+ years pushing it into the 90s or early 2000s for the purchase of the second.
Superb comparison!!! Thank you so very much for doing these invaluable tests!
Thanks and you are welcome!
Gotta say this is probably the most worthwhile/education packed video for me yet, considering I enjoy all your videos. You are as most say here, a better product tester than most manufacturers/companies. I hope at some point circumstances will permit me to help with off-setting costs for products you purchase for testing, as I know nothing is cheap lately. All I can do for now is say thank you for what you do for me and many others.
Thanks and you are welcome!
My wife and I are super glad you've started doing home appliances. We love your presentation, impartiality, and scientific rigor. Looking forward to when you do stand mixers, specifically Kitchenaid (hint, hint)...
Love your channel! Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do! Thanks for the suggestion.
@Project Farm don't forget the Bosch universal + when you do that
If you're interested in KitchenAid, AvE has a good breakdown video. He tends to be a bit crude, but the content is good.
The biggest thing I learned from buying a KA Pro 600 is that they really struggle at kneading larger batches of whole wheat or enriched dough like brioche. Their stated capacity is based on very soft white bread loaves; they just don't have the power for large batches or heavy dough. If you are just making cookies, cakes, and icing then you will be fine, but adventurous bread makers will likely run into problems with a Kitchenaid.
On the plus side, when you wear the gears down, KA mixers are very modular and easy to repair yourself.
As someone who makes bread, if I had to do it again I'd look at the Bosch universal or the Ankarsrum mixer, or bite the bullet and get a Famag.
😊
I could have never imagined that watching appliances being tested could be so engaging and fun. Your no-filler information-packed presentation style is ideally suited to comparing so many brands. Kudos!
Please test countertop air fryer-type ovens also when you get a chance.
Thanks and you are welcome! Thanks for the suggestion.
yeah I'd love to see him make a review on heat guns and more kitchen gear. I was suprised to see a blender but now if feel like limitless reviews to come.
I surprised myself by watching all the way through. Fascinating.
@@ProjectFarm I definitely wanna see you text out tool belt and tool boxes like the Milwaukee pack outs ,ladders Scissors and much more. Keep up the content. Oh another idea coffee mugs.
@@ProjectFarm Yes, to air fryer units, hopefully not the cheap tiny ones, but countertop air fryer/convection/toaster oven combos. Usually $100 to $400ish.
A note on your audio, I heard a lot of "plosives" from your voice, so maybe a pop screen or postproduction can help with it.
Great test -- as usual. Well-thought-out testing protocol. Very impressive. I'm also interested in food processors and meat grinders. Thanks for your TOP-OF-THE-LINE work!

Great video! I’ve had a major competitor to the vitamix (Blendtec) for the better part of 10 years now and it’s still going strong. Would love to see Blendtec in a round two!
And food processors would be a great follow up to this!
Great feedback! I'll test in the round 2 video if there's enough interest. Thank you!
Yea why no blendtec? The Will it blend show was a staple of early UA-cam
Blendtec was an UA-cam icon!
We deserve a round two with tougher challenges.
Maybe with one of those powerful commercial stainless steel blenders to elevate the class.
We have a Blendtec...we'd love to see how it fares against the others! It's really, really loud, and powerful, but the blades become dull very quickly. Pretty upsetting considering the price to be honest!
@@Marktec are the blades easy to sharpen?
Great testing as always, but I'm a bit surprised there wasn't a Blendtec in the line up. They are the first blender brand I think of thanks to their old "Will It Blend?" videos.
Yeah, I came here fully expecting to see a Blendtec.
Yes there were one of the first big channels on UA-cam way way back, also another big name in blenders going way back is Oster, neither one was in the lineup
@@noblsht Oster is not in the same league as Vitamix or blendtec.
I agree. Its not a complete test if Blendtec is missing in the lineup. @ProjectFarm pls remove this test, it is not allowed online untill Blendtec is added!
I would want to see Oster, KitchenAid, BlendTech, and Elevarify all in a round 2 video. Elevarify makes some big claims about being a "professional" blender and performing as good or better than Vitamix for about $300 less.
Thank you for your review. Got the nutribullet and it’s been great for the past 3 months with no issues and great smoothies. Hoping for many more

As a husband who just had my wife buy $250 Vitamix, I’m happy to see that it managed to come out on top. A little expensive, but I do like that the product is made in the USA and metal on metal contact as opposed to plastic. Should last longer.
Thanks for sharing.
Those are a good bit but the$250 will run a little different than the 750 so may have to adjust running time and speed til you're used to it
Make potato leek soup, it's so smooth with a Vitamix that I think it was well worth the price just for that!
@@OlivierCaron Potatoes and leeks, when cooked, are easy to blend smooth by hand with no blender at all. Wouldn't exactly call that a compelling reason to spend hundreds of dollars.
BlendTec > Vitamix
Great video, as always! I'd love to see comparisons of different offerings from major brands, like ninja, nutribullet, vitamix. There are always so many models to choose from, and you have no idea what the real performance will be like from one to the next.
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestion.
I totally agree! He uses the cheap Ninja , mine is a 1500 watts and it has so many things Lilke smoothies etc.
I love your videos and I echo many of the others in saying thanks for all your research and help. Would love to see a video on cold press juicers (how dry the pulp is, how much gets stuck, how much juice, etc)
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestion.
Great video once again. I went on eBay years ago and bought a used Vitamix 4000 Commercial unit in excellent condition with a heavy duty motor and stainless tank for about $150. It is now about 40 years old but looks, runs and performs like new. It was made in Cleveland, OH and is of high quality materials and workmanship. Where the U.S. is shooting itself in the foot is
(a) being brainwashed with Imperial Measurements for domestic use --
and the brainwashed population fails to use Metric when dealing with
International customers-
Perhaps if they learned to count to ten without using their fingers would help.
(b) Failing to manufacture electrical goods for 230v
(c) Those clowns in Government failing to subsidize shipping costs to Overseas Destinations
whereas the CCP subsidizes shipping and postage of eParcels thus China is
doing great busines= where the U.S. is in the Toilette.
It is time to put the U.S, out of its misery as it is past its use-by date.
I liked your testing regimen! I wish you’d have added a Blendtech blender to the test lineup. Given that they demonstrate the ability to blend anything from golf clubs to iPads, it would be good to see if they actually do well with food. Also, if you are getting into kitchen appliances, how about testing stick blenders and vacuum packing machines?
Great feedback! I'll test in the round 2 video if there's enough interest. Thank you!
@@ProjectFarm If you're taking round 2 suggestions, Kitchenaid's blender falls between the ranges of the ones you tested here and is said to be a good performer.

@@ProjectFarm I'll add a vote to interest for a round 2 with the blendtech blender.
Another vote for a blendtec test. We have a vitamix that is about 10years old and it still works amazingly
So glad I found your test bench! I mainly do hot sauces from peppers I grow, atm I have a Ninja and I dislike it for not puréing completely + the jar has cracks around the blades so I’m in the market for a new blender. I wanted a Vitamix so much but here in Canada the cheapest I found (that is 64oz) is the e520 from Costco at $360 (on sale) or $460 (reg)! Definitely going to get the Nutribullet SmartTouch instead for $160 (reg)!! Thank you so much !

Great review. You helped me decide on which blender to get. I was looking at the nutribullet, but wanted to see some reviews. The results were the same in all, but this was by far a great review. Thank you.
Thanks! Glad to hear!
Thanks for that Todd. 10-ish years I did a similar test for my business and ended up with two Vitamix "Bar Boss" blenders @ $750 each (even though my business does not server alcohol) and two additional containers @ $250 each. What I discovered was having a larger, flatter canister bottom aided the blending action for making smoothies and frappes. My canisters are triangle shaped; I use chunk ice, milk, frappe mix and off we go for 1 minute. I have made tens of thousands of frappes and smoothies. I consider those blenders a corner stone of the business and one of my best purchases.

Wasn't expecting blender comparison, so this was a real treat! I watched quite a few blender comparisons a couple years ago, and came away with two observations: The Ninja is overrated and is only really good at crashing ice, and the Vitmax is expensive, but you really get what you pay for. I bought a Vitamix similar to the one you tested. Makes amazing smoothies. No seeds or bits, everything gets perfectly blended. Fun fact: the heat generated by the blade friction is enough that you can make hot soup with it when blending for six minutes or so.
Thank for sharing!
@@ProjectFarmI wish you'd tested a Blendtec, if only for the internet points ;)
I have the Vitamix 5200 restaurant model both wet and dry container. You just can't beat it. Period. I use both frequently, wet container for making smoothies, different grains batter, soups and dry for wheat varieties, doughs, lentils' powder and espresso powder. Costco used to sell this particular model combo years ago and i got mine from there but it no longer sells 5200 now. ATK also tested different high end blenders and declared vitamix 5200 as the winner and vitamix 750 as runner up🤣
@@TheJohn8765 I got my blendtech when I saw it shred an iPhone. I have been 100% satisfied.

The biggest thing i appreciate about this particular review is that you were doing the parasitic draw test. Especially with how ridiculously high the cost of electricity was this summer! If we have another summer like the past summer, that little parasitic draw adds up when you count how many items people leave plugged in absentmindedly! So thank you for adding that bit in. That’s why I watch this channel, you think of everything!
I don’t know, I just assumed ppl disconnect/put away their blender when it’s not in use.
@@Menuki some don’t. A lot of people who use it every day probably don’t. But it’s not just a blender. Lots of items around the house people leave plugged in and don’t even question if it draws power when it’s turned off. Pretty much anything that has a remote control does
Like grandma always said........unplug when done. :P
While its obviously best not to waste any electricity, prasitic draw is typically more of an issue with electronics (TVs, cable boxes, etc.) The parasitic draw of these devices would amount to pennies a month in electric bill increases at most.
I didn’t see this before I bought one a week ago. I love how this video is straightforward and goes quickly. This is my kind of review video. Kudos! But you only reviewed one Ninja. @@ProjectFarm one thing I notice with my current panasonic immersion blender compared to previous braun blender is it's less controllable, suction and output too high at lowest setting making more splashes at kitchen. Y'all... I laughed when my partner asked me and our friends to crowdfund a refurbished Vitamix for her birthday. That thing is bananas. We spent that first weekend buying up all the bulk nuts at our favorite grocery store and made a bunch of butters. Lookong back it was a little ridiculous but a lot of fun. Took us several months to get through it all. It's great for making hummus. Babaganoush. Making our own flour. If you are curious, definitely go refurb. Agreed!
I would recommend including a low grade Blendtec in any future tests, every food service job I've worked which sold anything blended has had one. One place had one that must have been at least 15 years old and still worked flawlessly.
I've seen enough Will it Blend videos to want to see this!
Blendtec is where it's at!
Agreed. I worked at a restaurant that had a blendtec... the thing was beat to crap but ran flawlessly. 10 years I needed a personal blender. Blendtec is amazing its biggest flaw is how loud it is lol.
If "Blendtec" held up to years of restaurant & food service jobs, it's the one to own. Good kitchen equipment is rare anymore...
Would have loved a blendtech in the mix, doing some of the blendtech tests (e.g. hotwheels, etc.) lol. In terms of peanut butter, you need heat to make it process out properly; this is something that food processors do really well. There are also 4 stages of transformation, when you make the peanut butter.

Love to see a non stick pan durability review. None of them seem to last more than a year
Thank you for the video idea!
@@ProjectFarm recommend you take extreme care with that idea if you do it, since PFAS chemicals involved in making a most nonstick pans nostick, can be horrifyingly toxic in the short-term and carcinogenic in the long term. As long as you don't inhale fumes from an overheated pan you're fine usually, but it's worth keeping in mind.
I'm curious about the not lasting a year comment. My basic tfals have lasted for years and are still like new. The only thing I can think of is I inky use up to medium heat and use plastic or wooden utensils.
This was my experience as well. I have had many many blenders over the years. I bought a Vitamix about 8 years ago and it has performed well beyond my expectations and is still going strong today. Never had any issues. I’ve made smoothies, bread, ice cream, sorbets, soups etc. comes with a nice little cookbook too. The broccoli cheese soup and the peach sorbet is amazing.

Same. I wish I had just gotten one years before I did, it is worth the investment.
Ditto, bought one 5 years ago on sale and it's proved it's worth. Picked up the smaller jar, makes it easy to do quick blends.
I’m not gonna test that
It would have been useful to see them torture tested in some way to differentiate them on the grounds of long term durability.
While we are on kitchen stuff, I believe a review of stand mixers would be very interesting. It would be especially interesting to see if there was an affordable contender out there that could hold its own (both in initial performance and durability) against the likes of kitchen aid, Bosch, and wolf.
Thanks for all of your hard work providing such valuable and non-biased comparisons.
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestions.
I’ll tell you from experience the vitamix will survive a nuclear blast seeing what it goes through running all day long in a busy kitchen lol

One thing to keep in mind though, is that the 750 is not meant for pro use. It has a powerful motor, but less cooling than say the Prep 3. Great blender, love mine, but it is a consumer product compared to a Prep 3. I'd love to run a Prep 3 at home if it wasn't so f'ing loud! Most important thing about the 750 is to just make sure it runs fast. If they burn up, it's usually because people put them on low speeds with a heavy load.
One thing I use my VitaMix for is soups, the newer ones have a soup setting but mine is a little older and just has instructions and recipes for quick little healthy soups that are actually warmed through.
Thanks for the feedback.
I would love to see a part two of this with a blendtec option tested. Their Total Classic model seems to be a great middle of the road brand for higher grade blending. Interested to see how it compares to the Vitamix.
Great suggestion! Thank you
@@ProjectFarm did vitamix pay you off? I mean come on fella, its in the name. BLENDtec.
If you do a part 2, I’d like to see the KitchenAid brand -they’re in the $100-300 price range. I’ve been really impressed with their small appliances but I don’t know how they compare to others!
@@ginah3921 Strong agree - some KitchenAid blender models come highly recommended. I have one, and while I don't subject it to many "heavy duty" uses, it always does a great job.
Our blendtec didn't hold up very well at all. Currently trying a Costco Ninja.
You can get the Vitamix models without some of the fancy programs for a lot less money as well, especially at places like Costco. Definitely like the fact that replacement jars/parts are available unlike the Oster Versa we had previously where they were discontinued by the time we needed one.
Thanks for sharing!
I know it's similar but would be awesome if you could do one like this, but for food processors specifically. As always thank you for all of your fantastic work! You are a true blessing to us all!
Thanks and you are welcome! Thanks for the suggestion.
Great testing as always. I was saving this video for later and it didn't disappoint. Thank you for your efforts.
You are welcome and thank you!
Vitamix originally invented the electric blender back in the 1960s actually. Every professional kitchen I worked in only used them for a reason. My dad has had the same one for over 15 years. Definitely a worthwhile investment.
Thanks for sharing!
I've had the same Hamilton Beach for over 15 years. The question is how often it gets used.
@@ClickLikeAndSubscribeif you’re vegan/whole foods, it gets used a lot.
@@ClickLikeAndSubscribe My Dad uses it weekly, sometimes daily. Due to health conditions he ate a lot of raw and vegan food. Smoothies and raw soups are two of his favorites things to make.
That being said, they only lasted a few years in professional kitchens where they get used for hours and hours everyday. Still an impressive amount of abuse they can take.
Loved this review. I went down this rabbit hole a few years ago. I ended up with the Vitamix. Nice thing about Vitamix is they hold their value and you can sell them for good money when you want to upgrade. I laughed at some of the brands you picked. Weird names. You missed oster, kitchen aid and blendtec. Those are the ones I see in the stores anyways. You must spend a fortune on these reviews. Lol
Thank you for the video idea!
Those are worthy of a part 2 I think
I've got a 20+ year old Vitamix, still works like new.
@Mike S newer Vitamix. Fancy model. Lol.
@Mike S Yeah you can get 1800 watt models. Make sure your kitchen has a 20-amp electrical circuit though.
Glad to see your continued channel growth and expansion into other areas for testing. As you receive all video ideas from user comments, I’ve got a suggestion for you. Please test household cleaners over multiple videos. Laundry detergent is one, dishwasher detergent is two, dish soap is three, degreasers is 4, all purpose cleaners is 5. Or just combine them into a mega test.
Thanks for the detailed tests and highly entertaining/informative content. You should reach 3 million subscribers by Easter.
Another idea…nonstick cookware.

Bought my Vitamix right out of high school and been using it every day for the past ten years .still work like the day I bought it . I did get the base model tho only has a low/high speed toggle but it does everything I need.

Not in the market for a blender but always on a lookout for the next Project Farm showdown!! It's like watching a sports game for mechanical creatures 😁 thanks!!

When I saw this title I struggled to think of ways you could test blenders, but you found a great way to put them through their paces, like everything you test! Great job on this one! I would like to see another lineup include BlendTec, if they're still around.
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestion.
They never tried blending a blender. Hmmmm....... Let's test that!!
❤️
completely agree. Even a shootout between blendtec and vitamix would be great. One thing i am on the lookout for, which most of people from India would relate to immediately, is a blender capable of making 'dosa' batter. I ended up buying a $350 machine just to make that single batter as it is a staple for us. Was willing to spend $500 on a single blender if i could avoid buying that $350 wet grinder.
Just wanted to say thanks for making this video. A lot of the other blender videos aren't worth watching because some of them don't even have enough sense to show you the aftermath of what they blended much less take the time to measure stuff like rpms.
You are welcome!
Thanks! Currently deciding between the Nutribullet and the Breville Fresh and Furious. Appreciate your thorough review as always! Any chance for a food processor video?
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestion.
Best blender I've used was a ryobi cordless drill and a immersion blender end that was from a 4$ blender
Also those ninjas burn out really easy.
Thanks for sharing!
What are you blending -cement?
I'm still impressed with Nutribullet doing almost the same as Vitamix while costing 1/6th. Thank you again for doing video on blenders. Please do more kitchen tools ❤️

Difference I guess is if you want to buy from made in china or usa
@@manuelsalvatierra2940 if usa cost an arm and a leg, china it is
Problem with the Nutribullet is it tends to leak and break down. Probably end up spending more in the long run having to replace it. I went through 3 of them in five years.
@@anonanonymous1988 To be fair, you're still technically ahead by $300 dollars.
Yet another awesome video. My request for a test? Food processors. Normal full size food processors. Love to see what tests you come up with and which model you crown is top dog
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestion.
Valuable information, thank you. I wonder if some of the smoother results came, in part, from the warmth of the nuts as the motors overheated? Warm nuts crush into butter much more easily than room temperature, which is part of why many recipes call for toasting the peanuts or tree nuts first, then blending them while still warm. They also taste better, of course. :)
You are welcome! Thanks for sharing.
I saw this and I was like "Are you serious? Come on this is a joke." Then I watched and holy cow dude you really know how to test stuff. I'm gonna show this to my wife cause she needs a better blender to make daiquiris. Thank you so much for all your work. I tell everyone about your videos if they are looking for products that are worth the money.

Welcome to Project Farm, Frankie! I recommend you look through Todd's past catalogue of videos.
My 35 year career has been around automated, production testing - ie making machines to test (hydraulic) products as they come off the assembly line - and I've found Todd's testing methods to be very sound and often quite innovative!
Waring Margarita Madness blender kicks butt at frozen drinks.
Your testing is perfectly in line with my experience. We had 3-4 blenders in the first 14 or so years of our marriage. The first was seemingly of the old metal and large motor design often associated with old American products that simply worked and lasted. Following that, the Hamilton Beach or Oster normal mixers only seemed to last a very short time in our home. The Vitamin was bought at Costco with the original tall design and it has been unbelievably good for about 10 years. The price was well under half of the price you quoted for the Vitamix at that time. Great review and it is nice to see that it still holds up to the competition.
Thank you very much!
@@ProjectFarm you say cuisine art like they say in my favorite movie, Spaceballs
I have to say I have never regretted my Vitamix (64-oz) purchase. I use it three to four times a week over the last five years. It pulverizes the flax and chia I use in my smoothies with ease. I will have to try peanut butter, and I had no idea I could essentially make shave ice!
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm glad you're using the same format for testing other kinds of tools now. These videos have been really helpful when considering purchase options
Thanks! Glad to hear!
If you ever revisit this test please include the BlendTec. I’ve had one for years and it’s been awesome. Great and practical review!
I would love to see a part 2 where you include blendtec in the mix! Especially with their patented jar design that doesn’t require you jamming a stick into your smoothie to get it all blended up lol. I own an older model Blendtec I bought years back and it’s been wonderful. Most reliable thing I own. Would be nice to see how the newer model would hold up!

Thank you for the video idea!
Your reviews are always great. For the items where you don't do destructive testing, do you keep the one you like best and sell the others in a yard sale or give them to your friends? What happens to the good working leftovers from an episode? Just curious.
I give most away. My wife already has a very nice blender and I won't replace it with any of the ones tested since ours is working fine. I'll give most away and keep a few of them just in case there's a round 2 video
@@ProjectFarm I can imagine a friend or family member being like, "Oh, thank you for the blender.", then they get home and watch your review and realize it was a $25 appliance that performed the absolute worst. 😂 I guess some people you can only give them a free product once because next time you offer they'll just be like, "No, thank you." hahaha

Great review. This helped me because I am looking for something worth having as a starting point and see how much I use use a blender first before spending the money on a high end Vitamix. It seems to me the Nutribullet for the price point and performance is where I want to be for now.
Thanks! Thanks for the feedback.
After buying numerous brands and wearing them out due to everyday use, I bought a vitamix. It's been 15 years, and the vitamix is still going strong 💯💯‼️
Thanks for sharing.
Is the vitamix made the same way in 2023/22?
I wondered about the longevity of the items in these tests. Although it would be very tedious and time consuming to test.. The information given is very valuable.
@Dini I bought the 650 professional series, and from what I can tell, the only difference is that it costs about 200 less than what I originally paid.
@@ElkStirrinTheHoney we have an ancient vitamix, still going strong and used many times a week.. I question whether the plastic ninja one or some of the others would hold up if they were as old as our vitamix...likely they would be in the trash
Im surprised that Oster was not included in this comparison.
I bought one in 2010 for around 90$ from Walmart. Its glass and still working strong today. I make banana strawberry icecream milkshakes daily and replaced the blades recently.
Definitely a legit brand.

@@ProjectFarm And a Blendtec, which is a major competitor with Vitamix.
Oster might be the biggest blkender brand out there after hamilton beach, was a huge oversight to leave them out. I currently have 2 blenders, both are oster!
@@nobodynoone2500 I think they have ten or so models though, so makes that harder. Also harder to present because the names will all be similar.
Maybe a higher end blender shoot-out to reduce scope? Pick the best models by the top brands.

I have been using a Vitamix almost every single day to make smoothies with frozen vegetables since 2016. It's held up well. Never had to replace anything on the blender although at low speeds, the motor jitters with fine movements of the speed dial. Fine above speed 5. Anyhow, it has held up very well. I consider the variable speed dial essential and a feature that I have not seen on another blender. One improvement that they should have made is for the high speed switch to default back of variable speed after turning the blender off. Too many times, I have switched the blender on and had it in the high speed mode.
Thanks for sharing.
We've had our Vitamix for 10 years now and we use it almost every day. We even bring it with us on our road travels. No signs of slowing down and works like when it was new. We got ours at Costco and very well worth it.

At this point, I'm surprised Ryobi hasn't made a blender, as they seem to have an 18 volt tool for everything else😂 Great test, PF! I was just thinking about getting a new blender the other day, and now PF has blessed us with a blend-out!
I was thinking about something similar the other day about Canon and another company (not Tesla) making smartphones or Costco making cars.
That would be an awesome product suggestion for them. A coffee maker too!

Naw, it would have to be in their 40v tool line, not enough umph from 18v

The wife and I use our blender twice a day, every day mixing frozen fruits and vegetables into smoothies. After burning out many, many Nutribullets (their average life was about every three months) she bought a Vitamix in 2014. Even it had to go back for repair (once) but there's no question that it has cost less over time with fantastic performance. Vitamix also has a stainless steel container option--an important consideration for my wife (the plastic containers quickly get terrible stains from the greens in the smoothies).
Good review, thorough and well thought out assessment of features. With all the recent interest in 'prepping' have you considered reviewing seal-a-meal type vacuum sealers?
Thank you for the video idea!

Kinda surprised that you had a Vitamix blender in this lineup, but didn't include their biggest competitor Blendtec. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see the Vitamix and Blendtec to head to head.
I can't appreciate enough your effort in this video.
Thank you very much!

Liked the ninja pro 1000 I got from Costco, but cleaning a stacked blade assembly resulted in waste and could result in a cut if not paying attention. They also lost their edge in about 6 months of daily use, resulting in more gritty smoothies that took longer to produce.
Saw the Vitamix E520 at Costco for $300 and it works well. If you fill it to the 64oz capacity with a thick smoothie, it will overheat. Two smaller batches works well enough for me and my family, but we would prefer if it had a bit more power to utilize the full capacity for thicker blends.
Overall, I'm happy with the upgrade as it allows us to use nuts, vegetables, and seeds in the blend without them being noticeable. With the ninja any vegetables like spinach, kale,... or any seeds would come out in chunks, resulting in more of liquified salad than a smoothie.
Use a bottle scrubber and follow the instructions that say to put water and soap and run it so it self washes
That’s exactly what people don’t know about the ninja. It relies on sharp blades, while the vitamix uses blunt blades.
I use German knives. It doesn’t matter how great the blade, they all eventually require sharpening.
Love your videos
I use my Vitamix at least 5 times a week for nut butter, hummus, sauces, ice cream, smoothies, apple sauce, fruit compotes and more.
