TRIP REPORT | American Airlines - A321 - Dallas (DFW) to Los Angeles (LAX) | Economy

- Welcome to another trip report!
As I noted in the beginning, I had to stay the night in Dallas due to a 6-hour delay on my flight from Miami to Dallas (video coming soon).
I was pretty impressed with American's A321 with IFEs. I've flown the PHL/CLT based A321s without IFEs and they're pretty bad.

That FA is just a dinosaur who doesn't remember that the laws of filming have changed, and she can't force you to stop. I love how the senior mama Flight Attendants always make up their own rules!
Exactly, not her private jet, commercial jet therefore you have the right to film on it at least in the states. Laws override their old policies

INFECTION She should just retire soon. Pretty much a classic AA sky hag. Amazing how softly she says something so wrong about some policy that doesn't exist (being cranky in a "plane voice"). Other attendants on other airlines will see a camera and try and re-arrange food to make it look better and other little touches. Not on this flight.

I watch all your reports as I'm also an extensive traveler. I couldn't help but smile when you pointed out that you loved the MD-80s that American had stationed in Dallas. I gotta tell ya - they scare the hell outta me! I won't fly on them anymore, just too damned old IMO :) You also asked about the new livery. I hated it at first because I was always attached to the old design. Now, it's starting to grow on me and I think it's the best by far of any national carrier and one of the best overall. Your reports are really entertaining and I love it when they tell you "no filming" and your reply posted comment like "yeah that's gonna happen" etc is so funny, I love it so great job bud!

Nice! I flew on a CLT-based A320 to MSP and the IFE’s are a huge loss when I flew on a 738 with the IFE’s, plus I was in Main Cabin Extra. Those videos are on my channel.

Taking this flight in November! Thumbs up to the MD-80 at C21! (Backstory: One of my most memorable trips to Toronto started with an MD-80 flight departing out of that gate)
Those seats are slimline, the exact same united use on the a320 and Alaska on the 737. Only difference is that there is an IFE screen

My buddy who's a captain on their Airbus fleet has flown that bird before. I remember the registration number but don't remember what flights he worked her on.

Great report. Really is a shame that they are phasing those IFE's out in favor of streaming systems on a personal device. I find IFE's much better.
I think American should retrofit and update their MD-80's and just keep them. Delta still has theirs though they are a little newer. I feel like they could continue to run them since they are all paid for!
Dont get used to the aa ifes, they're gonne remove it and put in more seats on their a321s and 737s
