    Really nice photos with continuous light outside. Your model looks like she's having fun - and that's 90% of getting good photos.

      Well if you don’t have a leaf shutter camera or the one and only global shutter, sometimes there is no choice but to use HSS. I personally am not a fan because of banding. There are some camera/flash setups that control banding better than others but if it shows up it’s really hard to correct in post. But hopefully the global shutter will take us past that very well coined “halfway stop”.

    Holay!!! All I can say is - wow!!! These shots are gorgeous! I may need to watch again to hear what you say about soft boxes with this light - are they simply not necessary? The images with the first outfit have such lovely, soft lighting.

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  4 місяці тому

      You can always use an umbrella on these, but you can get softer looking lighting by just moving the light closer to the camera.

    killer results. guess it shows how out of date I am with these things, the last time I shot with lights, to get anything that clean looking I was weighing down the lightstands with sandbags because the strobes I had rented were so heavy. hard to believe such a small little unit could do so much and be continuous as well.

    they should build a cold shoe for that light to fit on the new Lumix S9 cold shoe...kidding aside, the wood panel light shots were really cool. Question - any feedback from the model on squinting issues or eye annoyance from the constant LED and full power?

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  4 місяці тому +1

      Well, there was one moment in the beginning where she was staring directly at the light when I turned it on after reminding her six times not to look at it where she squinted. But, other than that, she wasn’t bothered by the light at all.

    I have a couple questions? What kalvin is the light and is it easy to blend with other lights. Also How do you trigger it in flash mode? is there a transmitter for it? Thank you for your time and putting this together. Nice video.

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  4 місяці тому +1

      I believe it is 5600 Kelvin, but never really metered it myself. When I use these lights, I only use these. In flash mode, they go a little warmer so I wouldn’t use them with a regular strobe. You can trigger them with Ellenchrome, Godo or profoto remotes

  • @bearded_fotog
    @bearded_fotog 4 місяці тому

    I know the Elinchrom ELB 500's are the ones that can. But sadly, Stella or should I say Scott Robert Lim was misleading for thier cLX 10 & 8 saying it would over power the sun with the Fresnel on it. It doesn't and I live in a state that has sun over 300 days a year! I've tried, short of using an ND on the lens. But, does this over power the sun in direct sunlight and no shadow. Obviously you had to use it in flash mode to get the 18K. It standard mode this is only 9K as a continuous. That's what I'm looking for!

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  4 місяці тому +1

      Well for this shoot I used it in constant mode and it did a great job filling in the shadows. But no, it can’t allow taking the sun down to a 1 or 2 stop under exposure on the ambient light. But this for me worked much better that clx10 for battery life

    • @bearded_fotog
      @bearded_fotog 4 місяці тому

      @@kaskoPhoto But in theory at 18k lumen’s it should over power the sun when in flash mode correct? If so this is a cheaper option than purchasing a whole new set of light just for outside use. My cLX series stay inside for the studio or night work.

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  4 місяці тому

      @@bearded_fotog well this video does show the before and after in bright sunlight… can you bring down ambient to a dramatic point? No. But as you see it does fill well. But doubling the power by using it in flash mode will gain only one more stop.

    Thank you for sharing your experiences, but I don't want to view into a (partly) collimated 100 W LED spotlight with a diameter of only 82 mm. Maybe you model was particulary tolerant against glare, but I expect this would be quite uncomfortable for me.

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  4 місяці тому

      Well the smaller size fresnel was actually helpful with that. Only one time when she looked directly into the light did she have an issue. Been using these for years without complaints
