No offense, to me a new user of the fire stick, the majority of this video was useless. My only concern is the streaming experience itself. I don't care about the background, photographs, or the ambient experience.
Been thinking about getting a new stick for a while now. Nothing wrong with my old one, but it is almost 5 years old now and it is starting to show its age.
Yeah he was just talking about the new features of the max version compared to previous fire sticks. What content are you talking about? Do you need a 4k streaming demonstration? Everyone knows what that looks like already. The only purpose of this video was just to discuss the latest features of the max.
The current shield still plays everything, why do they need a new one? The only advantage to a newer shield, would be emulation of newer games. Which you can buy a mini PC to do that
Amazon had it for $39.99 today (Nov. 13) so I bought one to replace the old Fire TV 4k stick I had. It was worth it for the ambient feature, faster processor and more storage.
Something I wanted to see testing was latency using the Home Theater mode of this device, using Echo Studio speakers as sound via eARC to hear the sound from the TV, and playing on the Xbox or even using an AppleTV 4k.
In Plex go to playback settings and change the original source to automatic (converted). You will find that maybe titles are different I do not use it for a while.
This is a good Question and Enquiry. Been wondering is there an option to ask the 4k max to ask it for movies and where they are shown or if they are not released yet as the roku streaming stick can do this when you ask for the movie your looking for hope someone can help Thank you
Great video, so my older fire stick has been updated, and every program especially those on Fubo, displays an orange bar showing the program is being recorded. and each time we turn on the tv, we need to make sure we are not recording. Is this part of the new update? Thanks

I still have the very first Fire TV (the square brick with sharp edges) and since it's starting to have some issues like stuttering just browsing the menu until a restart, I'm thinking of getting a new one. For $60 my reaction is to just get a used Apple TV. I'm going to keep my Prime subscription, but is there a benefit in having a Fire TV over the others? PS: my Fire TV has even a USB port I can load content from, does any of the current devices have this?
Please add Flickr customization to the ambient screensaver options. I want some cloud-based option for making a photo/video slideshow when the TV is idle.
As long as they continue to allow Side Loads of Application they are going to be a great choice. I do wish nVidia would come out with updated version of Shield. last model was 2019.
Why the shield is still the best streaming device on the market as long as it’s still supported I personally don’t care if they don’t release a new version.
One Major problem for me is My external USB drives will not show uo in Xplore snd while they show up under storage in the firestick IT will not let me set one as a storage place for Tivimate recordings. I formatted in firestick both ways abd still will not work or show up in Xplore
The new Fire Stick also passes lossless Dolby TrueHD/Atmos via say Plex. The new Cube did this as well and now also the new Gen fire stick. This is also a pretty big upgrade

I’m thinking of getting this for FuboTV, which has looked like crap on the last couple Samsung TVs I’ve had. I had a Toshiba fire tv in 2021 and Fubo looked great on that, so I’m wondering if since this is a fire stick Fubo would look better on it if maybe the stick was doing the video processing instead of the tv. Can anyone tell me if this would be the case?
General question on the state of streaming sticks: Any reason why TV Manufacturers refuse to support adding ports that feature USB-C-PD? It's a real chicken/egg problem, but would go a long way to realizing a TRUE plug-and-play streaming stick without having to figure out where to plug them in for power. Cheers!

Still a great stick. It'll be really interesting to see if any of the others get the Ambient Experience. (I wouldn't bet on it though.)
