Great video, Mike, It brings back memories for me. Never seen 12 coaches on those lines ever. But, it did remind me of those days on steam, 65 years ago, when I was a fireman on those lines. Remember firing a freight train to Resolven, Fireman did not turn up so being shed cleaner I was allocated the turn, my age 15 years old, the engine a 'Tanky' [Pannier tank.] The 'Tonna' viaduct and river Neath was our playground 65 years ago, althogh we knew it as the Aberdulais viaduct!. Along side that viaduct was Aberdulais station, long gone, where they had station staff. During my schooldays we would be picked up there by passenger train and taken to Bristol zoo. The engine used was a 'Manor' class. Run by Neath men. That engine was removed from Neath later as there was not the work for it. The train passed the location of the old Neath & Brecon engine shed. Where I started my railway career. The engine shed is now Liddles supermarket, and the shed Coaling area is now Halfords.
I was on the special train yesterday. I'm not usually a 'track basher' but the opportunity of travelling on the Vale of Neath line some 54 years after I last travelled over it was too good to miss! I hoped you would be out and about filming the special train so I was very pleased to watch it. I really enjoyed it.
I wanted to avoid too many photographers, so many fire the shutter so many times and despite the mic. on my camera still want to chat with me, once they've taken their shot......never mind, it was a good day.
Nice lot of captures and locations, I was on top of the bridge at Tondu, got virtually same shot entering Garw loop, you covered a few miles, great shot over both the sets river arches
