I gotta be honest, it kinda confused me how cinematography could be applied in animation as well. Until I realized that cinematography itself refers to how a scene is composed. It takes into account how scenes play out, what they each feature, how they follow characters as they move around, and especially how they convey the tone and emotion they're going for.
