Damn you know I wasn’t sure about the cut. I wasn’t really feeling it in the salon but once you styled it yourself and then put in that spray?! You nailed it woman! I am definitely copying you on the spray. Absolutely Genius thanks.
You had your hair up at the beginning of the video and looked adorable. You already know how you look with short hair because of it. Go short the next cut.
I'm giving you a high five for growing out to your natural hair. Great inspiration. I like the Idea of less maintenance. Florida sticky neck it's definitely a real thing. 👍
I subscribed because I just started my journey to grey. It is one of the scariest things I have ever done. When I use the spray my hair feels dirty. But I do spray. Keep posting I will follow this journey with you. Let's be strong.
It LOOKS BEAUTIFUL! It’s going to be even more beautiful! I went for a Pixie in 2017. Bleach had killed it, and it looked terrible! I also had shoulder surgery and literally could not use my left arm/hand. Washed it, put some goop on it, fluff it-out the door! YOURS LOOKS WONDERFUL! 🌻
I'm also a brunette with curly hair and 1 year into my growout. My first six months I used the brown and black sprays but I grew tired of the sticky sprays so mostly I used headbands with my hair up in a bun. I also did some braids on my hair for a cruise vacation I went on. After the six months my go to style has been a high bun. I ordered a bun hairpiece from amazon that matches my grey. Since I have enough growout, once I put on the bun it looks seemless. The dyed hair is just tucked up in the bun and you can't see it. That style has saved me the entire summer. The trick is you have to keep the hair long enough to be able to do the bun. Good luck and stay strong this process is not easy!
You look good with the new haircut. When I started going grey, I bought a wig, and wore it till all the colour had gone. I still wear a wig mostly, but at least ALL my own hair is grey, and looks just fine... You'll be gorgeous at the end!
I started growing my grey out when I was 48 so that’d be out by 50. It’s healthier & I get more compliments on my grey hair than any other color it ever was! ❤
Yes! That's encouraging. Thank you! I can already tell my "virgin" hair if you will, is so much softer and I can tell it's going to be so much easier to style!
Use the spray with either foil or paper behind it, the same as when they do foils for highlighting. Hold sections out from your head and spray the length in "strips" You can hold the can closer than on the instructions to coat the sections...it looks great the way you did it and you'll get the hang of it quickly. Nobody ever wants us to cut our hair short...you'll love it if you do and your family will adapt and love it too.
Your natural white hair is super striking on you, also I loved the use of the white hair spray! You could do a vitamin c hair mask to lift some of the dye out of the lengths, it works super well. Then you can do a purple shampoo if it looks too brassy. I love your GenX attitude (I am GenX also :)).
I went gray during the pandemic and you'll be out of this awkward stage really soon. Your silver is lovely and that spray works really well. I'm very happy with my hair and I do get lots of compliments as you will.
Hairdresser here…. You have the Perfect face for Bridget Nelsons hair.!! I wish you would have went for it.!! However At least next time have more layers put it, it will blend better.!
thanks Madeline, it's nice to see these kind of vids... I'm just at 6 weeks... when i would have usually gotten my roots done... but THIS TIME... I sincerely want to quit doing that... so... seeing how lovely your new growth looks is encouraging. and I hear you on not having the 3K+ budget to magically 'do the whole head' like we see on instagram. waving to you from Sydney Au :)
I let my hair grow during the pandemic. It's long enough to put up in a messy bun to keep it off my neck when out in the heat. If you go really short, you'll be getting cuts way more often. So many saying do a pixie, but you do you! Beautiful, whatever you decide.
I suggest that your stylist do a foil bleach to cover the darker color. This will help with the bottom being so darker than the top. If you don’t want to go that route search for a good colorist that can give you a grey color that you can have while your natural grows in. I have ALWAYS wanted the blue tint the ladies use to get many years ago. I LOVE purple so decided to use that in my now grey hair. I use a color depositing purple shampoo and conditioner. I LOVE how my hair looks. And its been GREAT not having to color my hair every 3/4 weeks!
Thank you for your suggestions! Unfortunately I have to color my hair every TWO weeks so you can imagine I am tired of it. If you watch my first video - SO IT BEGINS - I explain that I had exactly what you suggested done and it completely fried my hair and destroyed my curls. The other option I have looked into and so far the only person I would trust to do it requires at least 4 inches of growout, charges a minimum of 3k and with my hair no way am I going to be a "minimum" customer, is out in California and my hair will probably fry even more anyway. So here we are. I love your lavender hair too!! It's lovely!
@@MadelineVail doing a vitamin c hair mask will lift out color with minimal damage to your hair. you can do them multiple times even, and they will lift quite a bit of dye out w/o doing anything color wise to your white roots.
Your natural grey is so beautiful. Have you thought about getting permanent silver grey color put on the lower portion of hair……where it’s just strands that are done with balayage to get same effect as the spray but it would be permanent? I have had a couple of friends do that and it looked nice. Another friend had the permanent grey put all over the old growth. It’s finding the right color, but it blended seamlessly. Love your hair cut!!
You have great hair, nice and thick. I wouldn’t go really short, so a bob is somewhere in between. I’m not personally a fan of white or gray hair, so for me, I would probably color or blend with highlights.
You ready? Winn Dixie!!! I live out in the middle of nowhere so when I needed some quick that's what I had.We don't even have a drug store nearby. LOL. Sturdy as heck too. 12 bucks!!! I lose em, break em...so these are perfect for me.
Mine is long ,and half brown and silver grey! 14 months in and its frustrating how long it takes...i could cut all the brown off but i just cant wait to have long grey hair, thrown up in a big messy bun on top of my head..i dont use chemicals on my hair anymore either ...the only downside is my hair is thinning. Love going grey, going bald..not so much!😂
Castor oil!!! You have to check it out. Put a few drops in your conditioner and really massage it into the scalp. Sleep with it - I know, that part is hard. Then wash and condition as usual. (I'm not a doctor. LOL)
If you can find an experienced one ,find a hairdresser that can cut your hair with a razor ,makes the texture really modern and easy to keep looking good .Annie
