Hey! That was a fun outting! Who could ever know that an old saw in the shed would make for interesting viewing!! Allysa fell asleep inflight- that is comical! Keep these trips coming!
Not a bad video at all very enjoyable. I would like to ask was there ever a video talking about the purchase of the Airplane. I saw the one discussing looking at Airplanes, but unless I totally missed have not seen regarding the actual purchase or "hey we bought an Airplane". Although that is obvious by now.
There was a couple of videos about the airplane purchase and the journey up to that purchase. It was a few months back, but is pretty easy to find. If you can't find it let me know and I'll send you a link. I'm not affiliated with this channel other than being a fan like yourself.
Yes.. I missed that airplane purchase announcement too. These folks have announced every other purchase why not an airplane? I really have no problem with the purchase. They have worked hard and sacrificed a lot.
I have a good friend from Escanaba Michigan who is a professional lumberjack, and owner/emcee of The Great Lakes Timber Show. They travel around the US to festivals and fairs, and do shows of the old ways: crosscut sawyers, axe throwing, log rolling, standing and underhand block chop, and more. If they are ever in your area, I highly recommend that you catch their show. Tell Bruce that Bill Harper sent ya! Some of his team members are world champion choppers, log rollers, and more. You would be in AWE!
Just a quick note. My wife and I have your same seat cushions and used them the same as you are in the plane. It was later pointed out to us we were using them incorrectly. The curve in the pad goes the other way, it's for your tailbone comfort to prevent soreness. Just saying :-)))
It good to see that the old saw is in better condition now and the flight was beautiful over the snow capped mountains ! Nice video and thanks Jesse and Alyssa !
Looks like ya lost about 5 to 6 inches off that saw... it also looks like ya both had some fun on that short flight. Thanks for sharing. Will keep watching for your next video. Take Care Jesse and Alyssa.
For whoever might be interested. I have three cross cut saws that I would be willing to allow to be used for training on sharpening, as long as I get them back after the class is over. Hopefully this could be done somewhere in Western Oregon so delivery and pickup of these three blades could be done by driving (sorry no flying for me!) If there is any interest, just reply here and in a few days I will respond.
Wow! The life! Amazing video and scenery. Having driven that drive from Idaho to Missoula many times it is not really that far. But of course flying is more fun.
Small world--we just visited that ranger station last October. Nice campground (Kreis Pond) a few miles pass the station. Really enjoyed the video and now you have a sharp saw. Take care.
I was a Member of a Rescue Organisation and We had a Saw similar to that. One Day I was talking to My Father about it and he volunteered to Sharpen it. We actually used it on a few Operations afterwards and it cut beautifully. I left that Rescue Unit in 1998, but I believe they still have that Saw.
I like the length of your videos. Some videos I listen to are an hour long. Your videos are not just about building a house. House building just happened to be the major project lately. Just wait til the baby shows up. I'm happy they were able to save your saw.
Jesse, do you have your IFR Cert too? I am a 1500hr private pilot with IFR and completely understand how you love flying. We fly our Cirrus SR22T all the time just for fun. Flying is addicting.
In the Tom Wolf boot "The Right Stuff" he talks about Pilot Voice. It is a voice that most North American pilots seam to develop from listening to to other pilots talk. It is calm, clear, and easy to understand over the radio. Thanks Chuck for yet another contribution to aviation.
You need to be much more carefull when closing your back door with something long preventing it from closing completly....It could easily shater your rear window.....
All about the under dog? But yall complained about a nice Buick to drive around? I have a oldsmobile that I bought to fix up... I get dirty looks from everyone because the hood is dented.
You live in a beautiful area. It is great that you are saving old tools and getting them into working condition. Cutting trees was a much more physical thing when that saw was the best you could get.
Seeing the Twin Otter brings back memories. I went on a tour at the smoke jumpers' training facility at the Redding, California Airport many years ago, and we got to tour the Twin Otter that they used there. And what a beautiful flight! I am hoping I can get a sight seeing flight over the Oregon Outback soon.
I used to be a gliding instructor and we'd use barf bags (sick bags over here in the UK) for collecting mushrooms on the airfield. Bringing food home in sick bags certainly got some interesting looks.
The green line of grass looks like there is a spring and an underground river. The water is seeping through the dirt just like a creek, but slower. Water holds warmth, so in addition to feeding the grass extra in that spot, the warmth encourages it to grow earlier.
It looks like a petroleum pipeline by the signage. May be fairly recent and the grass is greener because of more fertile soil being brought to the surface. You can see the trench shadow carries on into the dirt field at 12:43.
Love the fact you got old technology working. But was that helicopter a Ericson sky crane amazing piece of kit when your up close. Was near one when it was warming up. Big lift capacity. Aussie Jeff
Trail Seeker if you rent it can vary anywhere from $150 all the way to $300 per hour. However if you already own the plane the biggest cost is fuel. That aircraft burns around 9-10 gallons per hour. At $3 per gallon It would cost about $30 per hour. At cruise you travel at 95-105 knots. So around $3.16 per mile. But this all depends on everything from wind to the price of fuel to even how much fuel you ah e on board
I got some info on cross cuts for y, just need to privet message you. By the way you were by a smoke jump school if I remember, was that the first service class he took or a privet
Michael, If you're interested in sharing that info I'd love to have it as well. I have an old family push and pull saw that I'd really like to get up and cutting again.
Did i miss the we bought a plane video? I've seen the video(s) that you were Looking for one but I didn't new that you actually bought a plane. Sins those video(s) I've seen you fly multiple times in the plane from this video
It was only a 90 minute flight. Unless Alyssa is highly unique, the time from beginning labor to needing a medical professional would easily be longer than continuing to their home airport and driving to her ob/gyn.
"Being lost with coffee is basically the same as knowing where you're at" That's a good one!
I have several of these saws and can say that none cut as good! Looks like I need to take the same class as that guy.
Oh man! I needed to go to sleep 30 minutes ago and I got a notification. Pure Living for Life posted a new video. Bitter sweet I tell you. :)
One of your best videos! Sesna, Starbucks, crosscut saw, clear weather flights, expectant mother. Very well done.
Do they teach that pilot voice in pilot school????
I love how spontaneous you guys are. Great video, really enjoyed it.
Very cool Keeping the old tools going and in tip top shape
Hey! That was a fun outting! Who could ever know that an old saw in the shed would make for interesting viewing!! Allysa fell asleep inflight- that is comical! Keep these trips coming!
An awesome trip.Nice to see the ole saw has a little more life left in it

I saw the one discussing looking at Airplanes, but unless I totally missed have not seen regarding the actual purchase or "hey we bought an Airplane". Although that is obvious by now.
There was a video about "we are sure glad we didn't buy this other airplane". They must have bought this one just after that.

I don't think they bought one. I think they lease.
Yes.. I missed that airplane purchase announcement too. These folks have announced every other purchase why not an airplane? I really have no problem with the purchase. They have worked hard and sacrificed a lot.
yeah there's a video where they looked at a couple of planes
your so lucky having such beautiful scenery to view on your trips
This was fun to watch!
Very nice of you guys to do this. 😎
Lets face it guys this had very little to do with the saw and all to do with the adventure, you two are infectious, lovely trip with gorgeous people.

You guys live a kick ass life! Good for u!
What a great adventure in tools! And you got the fly Twice great Video Thanks 337!
Just a quick note. My wife and I have your same seat cushions and used them the same as you are in the plane.
It was later pointed out to us we were using them incorrectly. The curve in the pad goes the other way, it's for your

It is nice you are able to take short trips like this.
Thank you for the adventure.
Wonderful flight, always love to see the beautiful landscape when you fly.
Awesome!!! Air trip...fun video and thanks for the ride
Keeping up with all your tools is a real good thing! Loved the view while flying into Missoula. Life is good👍
What does it cost you to use that plane?
Good to see you guys again, and Bugaboo. That was interesting thanks for sharing.
When you guys going to start working on the house?
How does the plane situation work? Do you just rent one? own? lease? shared ownership?
It good to see that the old saw is in better condition now and the flight was beautiful over the snow capped mountains ! Nice video and thanks Jesse and Alyssa !
I see that saw hanging in a special rust free place in your home. Ballistol is a oil and protectant made for guns, but also good for tools and stuff.
Excellent Video!!! Loved the music to...
Looks like ya lost about 5 to 6 inches off that saw... it also looks like ya both had some fun on that short flight. Thanks for sharing. Will keep watching for your next video. Take Care Jesse and Alyssa.
Came out smelling like a rose ! Thanks for sharing.

Welcome relief, red carpet arrival, new friends, refurb your saw and some additional flight time. Cheers!
Small world--we just visited that ranger station last October. Nice campground (Kreis Pond) a few miles pass the station. Really enjoyed the video and now you have a sharp saw. Take care.
Great views with background music!
I'm so relaxed, I think I'll hit the hay. Thanks!
Excellent, Thank you for sharing!
I went to Montana for the first time this year! The last of the lower 48 visited. My Channel Launched today, Thanks for the Inspiration!
11:07 just lost my Bengal last week, their coloring was exactly the same. He was spotted... I miss him .
I was a Member of a Rescue Organisation and We had a Saw similar to that.

Love when you 2 go flying really calms the soul

I enjoyed the ride-along! Thanks!
Never saw that coming.
You're a pilot 😳 how cool is that 👍😉😊👌
Jesse, do you have your IFR Cert too? I am a 1500hr private pilot with IFR and completely understand how you love flying. We fly our Cirrus SR22T all the time just for fun. Flying is addicting.
You can actually hear the different when you tried it at your house from when you used it at the ranger station
If it was 4 hours to drive there, how long was the flight?
Did you develop the pilot voice or is that new!!!!!
Fintan Galway, it is required or you're not allowed to strap on the aircraft.😎
In the Tom Wolf boot "The Right Stuff" he talks about Pilot Voice.
It is a voice that most North American pilots seam to develop from listening to to other pilots talk.
It is calm, clear, and easy to understand over the radio.
Thanks Chuck for yet another contribution to aviation.
Those saws were called "misery whips" for a reason.
That's very cool... thanks for the video....................JJ...
That is one cool video!! I’m glad youse guys gave the old saw the respect he needed!!!
Cooool! Thanks for sharing. :)
funny, how Jesse falls into vocal fry when he speaks on the radio.
I wonder how long it will be before you start driving like an aviator. My Father was always trying to bank the car round corners.
That was a fun video!
Yay a New Video.
What is your maintenance schedule for the plane ?
Don't they rent the plane? I thought they just buy time on it...relatively new to the channel, but I thought they rented plane time...
Wait a minute! IFR means I Follow Rivers too? I thought it was just I Follow Roads!
Love your videos keep them coming
You need to be much more carefull when closing your back door with something long preventing it from closing completly....It could easily shater your rear window.....
Small, non-pressurized aircraft don't have glass windows. It's all acrylic.
Great save this will be the gem in the toolched and a tool with a story.. 🙌
LMMFAO there's the plane! er uhm nope, that's poop on the windshield HAHAHA
All about the under dog? But yall complained about a nice Buick to drive around? I have a oldsmobile that I bought to fix up... I get dirty looks from everyone because the hood is dented.
OMG you came to my town!!! wish i knew lol
You live in a beautiful area. It is great that you are saving old tools and getting them into working condition. Cutting trees was a much more physical thing when that saw was the best you could get.

I am hoping I can get a sight seeing flight over the Oregon Outback soon.
“Millennials” are now 23 to 38 years old. Not sure why they would not take a saw sharpening class.
I never get a dang carpet!!! You guys are special!!!
I used to be a gliding instructor and we'd use barf bags (sick bags over here in the UK) for collecting mushrooms on the airfield. Bringing food home in sick bags certainly got some interesting looks.

Ah yes, the Misery Whip, my grandfather taught me and my brother to use one before he would allow us to use a chainsaw.
Cheers from Tokyo!
Hope u had a good trip to Missoula Montana...I see u kept that piece of wood u 2 cut off that log with your saw
Hey Jessie, is that your Cessna, or one you hire?
Wow so beautiful
Fun video! Thanks!
Can’t wait for another video...👩🏻🦳
I love old things, just found a 1958 Pennsylvania truck license plate, it so cool. That saw is so neat!
Really nice of you two to do this .
Nice looking saw...My grandpa had 2 of them
Love the fact you got old technology working. But was that helicopter a Ericson sky crane amazing piece of kit when your up close. Was near one when it was warming up. Big lift capacity. Aussie Jeff
Great video - when are you going for your twin engine rating ?
So you guys know how to fly a plane too I’m dome how do you stay and learn so many things and actually just go for them
another great video ty be safe and god bless waiting for next video
Is your 182 equipped with ADS-B in or out? Hard to tell with the glare on the iPad if you have at least "ADS-B in".
my wife loves your cat
Great trip! Thanks for sharing guys! 👍😁
Wow, you guys could make some really cool round wooden table tops and clocks with that saw! A nice little side hustle if you ever need a few bucks!
How expensive is it to fly that trip? vs driving there?
Trail Seeker if you rent it can vary anywhere from $150 all the way to $300 per hour. However if you already own the plane the biggest cost is fuel. That aircraft burns around 9-10 gallons per hour. Wear/tear on the plane aside, Foreflight shows 141nm, say ~13g of fuel, one way. KMSO says ~$5/gal.
time wise its probably worth it.
I love the house, canning, and bugaboo... but I really love the plane content
that reminds me, i have to sharpen my chainsaw chain 😂🤔
Flew a 1000 miles!! Pretty nice all the way around.
I would never jump out of a perfectly good airplane 😀
if you can afford an airplane you can afford a chainsaw....
What was the car you ussed when the saw was sharpened. It looks nice. Btw love flight vids too thanks
Did i miss the we bought a plane video? I've seen the video(s) that you were Looking for one but I didn't new that you actually bought a plane. Sins those video(s) I've seen you fly multiple times in the plane from this video
So where would you land if Alyssa went into labor? 😂
I believe the nearest airport or grass strip
It was only a 90 minute flight. Unless Alyssa is highly unique, the time from beginning labor to needing a medical professional would easily be longer than continuing to their home airport and driving to her ob/gyn.
on the ground, OB services on the moon are terrible :)
Well that was a pleasant change. 🛬👍
