- I never really fish the barge canal because of the amount of boat traffic that goes through it. Get there before everybody else and it can be productive.

If you’re new to my micro-sized channel, for the entire year of 2023 I'm logging every species I catch and every mile I paddle from my kayak (or bike/foot whatever). Every species is fair game. Subscribe so you can follow my journey.

Thanks for watching!
Wow! I also had an osprey pick up my pogie last week while tarpon fish. It's rare when I even see them dive for a fish.
First time that has ever happened to me, I'm so lucky (and thankful) I didn't hook his foot 🙏
…..and thanks to your dad!!

Is this the barge canal off of 19 by Yankeetown? I had that recently happen to me where I had a live pinfish on a float and a bird came and picked up the float. The water was crystal clear.
It's actually the barge canal near Port Canaveral.
🤙
👊 right back at you.
You're over due to land one of those big snook. Keep trying. It will happen.
Funny you mention that. I came across a few 100lb+ tarpon rolling around there this past weekend. If I happened to hook one of those....game over. I didn't have a setup with me to handle anything of that size.
