Ok, hear me out: Topwater Battleship lure. Either a tall ship like the Constitution or an aircraft carrier with tiny planes. Then, you gotta zoom in on that topwater blow-up for the epic Marling Baits Kaiju Experience
Dude this is so creative! Between the fins and whiskers. You’re getting way better and i didnt think that was possible because you were already the goat last year now you are literally the best bait maker ive seen
My kids and I woke up and watched this first thing this morning. All three of us agree you are the best at what you do! This is definitely one of my favorite baits you've made
What a beautiful routine! This is really uplifting content which will surely contribute to your kids growing into fine people. Cheers to you and your family!
Super stoked to watch this one bro!! This bait looks insane! This one goes in the A++ category!! Bass love to eat baby catfish, though this one seems beyond the baby stage. I think this is the best bait I’ve ever seen!! Resin copies?!?!
I've even tried clipping the spines and have never in 40 years been able to catch anything on juvenile catfish. Unless you count gar and softshell turtles. I don't.
Never put a juvenile cat on a hook. I am always worried I would hurt the bass or whatever with that dorsal fin. I catch a lot of fingerling cats this time of the year with my cast net though. I have caught tons of catfish using bass as bait between 4 inches and 12 inches. This lure looks really bad ass though. I would love to have a copy to fish with a little and use it as a wall hanger when I am not using it. Wonder how much it would run to have one made for me?
You building this bait has reminded me how beautiful catfish really are. When you catch an abundance of them, the beauty fades. Your video reminded me to slow down and take everything in. Thanks man. Appreciate you
He’s just to good. This bait looks so unbelievably good. It’s wild he can make baits people would pay hundreds for in just one day. I wish I had a drop of the talent he has.
this was absolutely my favorite bait you’ve made. i’ve been watching for about 4 years or so now and this thing is just a complete perfect representation of your work. the beauty in the paint scheme, carvings, and even the hardware is amazing. keep it up!
This bait shows how much you’ve learned and experienced since started making baits truly a great piece of art! Want to hang this on my wall in a shadow box it’s just perfect little catfish.
Dude! You’ve got mad carving and design skills. I used to carve decorative decoys, and am very impressed. I have you on, while I work, most days. Great work!
Why is it so satisfying/therapeutic to watch someone carve wood with a blade? There has to be a scientific/medical explanation. That is definitely the coolest looking lure that you've done yet in my opinion! Subsurface swim bait with a flashy bit, that formula would make for an epic saltwater bait.
Outstanding bait! One of my favorites now for sure! The attention to detail on the ribs and fins will bring you your Pike and make it Official in no time! Great job!
love from Japan! being away from home for a while seeing some fishing wildlife and most of all good craftsmanship makes me feel a little bit at home. I love the videos please keep making them they really brighten my day.
The magenta to green gold to silver to white is literally a catfish PERFECT paint scheme, looks more like a catfish than some catfish do super impressive, much love, hope you and your family is doing well!
I got one of those spring tools a long time ago when I bought a new tool belt for when I was a carpenter and it’s the most handy little tool. I never even knew they made those til I got my tool belt in the mail and saw it was a free gift from the guy who made my tool belt.
Yay I'm so happy to see that you're making catfish which I suggested on and off for the last year ( a lot. ) Awesome awesome awesome. You are the best point blank the best at what you do.
Soooo freaking epic! Great job as always but this is above and beyond even for you! Glad you got it to have some action at the end. Looks like an actual catfish swimming, very cool!!
Phenomenal as usual Nate! U constantly out do yourself and really are a master of ur craft. I live in Wales UK and would love to see a small brown trout for winter pike. With the amazing quality of your paint skills I think u could recreate the color scheme perfectly!!! Whatever u choose, keep them coming please. Hope the family and garden going well!!!
I would so buy ones of these !! I need!! This is so incredible, totally outdone yourself. This is a whole new level. Just putting the ribs in alone was amazing detail. Nice incredible work man ! And the fact that you used a plastic bait mold as well for parts incorporated was sweet as well ! The brass fin idea is epic! I’m just in awe of this one !
That is probably my favorite bait that you have made. The amount of detail that you put into it is amazing. Keep up the fascinating and fantastic work!
I saw a pic of this someone shared on Facebook and didn’t remember seeing the build video. Had to come check it out, this is my favorite build so far! Nice
The final action looked perfect. From the flashy brass fin to the hand poured whiskers. Good job! I bet you can make Finn a cool train set on wheels by the way.
I about fell outta my chair when I saw you were making a Catfish lure 😎🤘 This is gonna be absolutely awesome!! Never wanted to use a catfish lure so bad in my life 🤣
I used to use finger nail polish to paint my lures there's so many AWSOME colors and variations and combinations with finger nail polish, and the finger nail clear coat gloss, and semi gloss made a great finish, so many of the polish colors had metal flakes in them it made for some beautiful lures!
Beautiful bait. I'm a bit surprised it didn't have a more aggressive action when you added the lip. The detail and intricacy that you are putting into your baits is really next level. I'm glad you didn't snag that one... it deserves a place on the wall even if it never becomes "offishal". I've always been a soft plastics fisherman... so I really like your injection mold stuff but the hard baits you are making lately are sooo well done. Remarkable craftsmanship. Love Sunday mornings with Marling Baits.
Sunday morning cartoons YAY!! Very nice bait this week Nate. I've gotten into freshwater fishing with artificial because of you now. Been fishing them saltwater for years but after watching you for a while now I got the itch to try them in fresh.
i fish for channel catfish up here in western new york. so this is my absolute favorite lure you've ever made. so glad you finally did one. the detail is spot on, excellent work.
Entered a new state of awesome here as now I watch your videos before I go out and tinker in my new wood shop. Sort of my procrastibaitin hehehe. I had to add that I agree with your assessment on this catfish….amazing..
Been waiting for your next video you always inspire me to keep creating and challenging myself. Had to wait all day to watch this so I could sit down and give it the proper attention it deserves
Sundays are always double edged swords.... I hate them because i have to go back to work the next day but i love them cause i get to see a new Marling Baits vid!
Another bait that is larger than most of the fish we (you and I) catch! I enjoy learnin bait building techniques, but it's more fun when the baits catch something.
I got up late today after hardly sleeping at all, and have fly tying orders to fulfil, but I just couldn’t help but spend the first half hour chilling out, and watching you make this INSANE bait! Easily one of the best looking baits you’ve made, both in, and out of the water! Can’t wait to see what you’ll get on it first! PURE AWESOMENESS!! 😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was more listening to this one instead of watching, and I finally glanced up near the end. Mind blown at how realistic it is. That thing is nuts. I don't know if I'd be able to throw that in water, I'd put it in a trophy case.
That has to be one of my favorite lures you've made so far! I love the attention to detail and the realistic look of it! You did an awesome job just don't get it snagged or broke off that would suck!
Ok, hear me out: Topwater Battleship lure. Either a tall ship like the Constitution or an aircraft carrier with tiny planes. Then, you gotta zoom in on that topwater blow-up for the epic Marling Baits Kaiju Experience
We are clearly on the path of ridicule

Agreed 👍

It may be beyond that stage but that doesn't stop a pike from destroying it
I've even tried clipping the spines and have never in 40 years been able to catch anything on juvenile catfish. Unless you count gar and softshell turtles. I don't.
@@robertthrobert2337 agreed... old wives tale about predatory fish loving to munch on small catfish..
@@zekethefishgeek8690 never tried madtoms then, best bait ever.

Definitely one of the coolest looking baits you've made. Should make an swimbait where you use paint brush brissels as the fins like back in the day.
You building this bait has reminded me how beautiful catfish really are. When you catch an abundance of them, the beauty fades. Your video reminded me to slow down and take everything in. Thanks man. Appreciate you
that's a really good adolescent channel catfish. it always amazes me how much detail you put in to your lures.
He’s just to good. This bait looks so unbelievably good. It’s wild he can make baits people would pay hundreds for in just one day. I wish I had a drop of the talent he has.
Dude! It's beautiful!!! It don't matter if it catches fish I would want to put that one on display or something. Awesome idea on the whiskers too!!!
Has to be my favourite bait you’ve ever made absolutely stunning.
this was absolutely my favorite bait you’ve made. i’ve been watching for about 4 years or so now and this thing is just a complete perfect representation of your work. the beauty in the paint scheme, carvings, and even the hardware is amazing. keep it up!
Great looking bait mate well done I love the face flappy holders nice work
This bait shows how much you’ve learned and experienced since started making baits truly a great piece of art! Want to hang this on my wall in a shadow box it’s just perfect little catfish.
The best looking bait you’ve made to date. So awesome to watch you progress even more and more!

Wood, lead, polycarbonate, brass and soft plastics all in one bait. What a fantastic mixed media creation!
Church
That is one good looking catfish. Like how the whiskers turned out. Great detail on this creation. 👌
The realism is on point honestly your lures are far better then anything ive seen at any fishing store, section, gas station. Anywhere. Ever.
Keep up the great work! We are proud to be your subscribers.
Yay I'm so happy to see that you're making catfish which I suggested on and off for the last year ( a lot. ) Awesome awesome awesome. You are the best point blank the best at what you do.
Functional or not this has to be my favorite lure thus far. So technical and beautifully crafted.
Awesome swim bait build, Marling! Your wood carving skills are fantastic..
That bait looks just exactly like a catfish in every way. This is one of my top favorite baits that you have created Nate. The realism is awesome.
Soooo freaking epic! Great job as always but this is above and beyond even for you! Glad you got it to have some action at the end. Looks like an actual catfish swimming, very cool!!

that is INSANE. This is a contender for my favorite, so much going on but at the same time, just enough.
The catfish bait is just awesome and it looked like a slow lazy retrieve would give it the swim action it needs. Great job as always.
Man been watching your work for 7 years now. Your paint jobs and work is truly excelling!
A++ caliber bait for sure! This is in my top 3 favorite baits you have made 🎣
Am I the only one that finds it super satisfying when he carves and practically peels the wood off with the box cutter?
I must say That’s my favorite bait yet! Nice work my brother from another mother.
I’m utterly speechless at how detailed this one is, great job man. Maybe one day some of us can paint like you can😂
This bait along with the gar pike and the musky has to be my favorite paint jobs you have ever done
One of the best looking baits. That save at the end of the video made it one of the best baits in general

I love my little ictalurus friends. I was so happy to see that thumbnail.

My new favorite, man I love that action it's perfect I think! Once again you knocked it outta the park
It's so beautifully made it looks real in the water
I gotta say I love the big realistic lures!
Once you added the lip the action is nearly exactly how a small channel cat feeds at the surface with a slow retrieve. Great job!!
One of the best yet... really smooth action.... impressive!!!!!
Now my Sunday morning is complete!

Uhm...

PURE AWESOMENESS!! 😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can't wait to see this bait catch fish. It is an amazing combination of art and action.
The rib lines are an excellent touch on this bait, incredible attention to detail
I love that the “I didn’t fart” bit is still here. Makes my day hearing it.
I was more listening to this one instead of watching, and I finally glanced up near the end. Mind blown at how realistic it is. That thing is nuts. I don't know if I'd be able to throw that in water, I'd put it in a trophy case.
Been watching for a long time and this just might be my favorite also. She's beautiful!
I believe it is the two big whiskers that stabilized the bait so much. Good looking bait- take it out to Palo and catch a musky with it!
Yup, I’ve concluded that this is my favorite so far, great job
😂 oh and the LED light is still on 😆
Beautiful lure. Makes me want to finish my Bullhead Popper. I might take some cues from this creation.
Amazing work honestly the Bob Ross of Baits right here i would love to have one of your baits keep up the great work 👍🏽🔥
That has to be one of my favorite lures you've made so far! I love the attention to detail and the realistic look of it! You did an awesome job just don't get it snagged or broke off that would suck!
Yay!!! Finally a catfish bait with whiskers!!! Thank you.
Don't think I've ever commented on your videos but this lure is absolutely amazing I wish I had one
