- How to stick your pop-up models together to make a book - this makes them easier to access (and admire!) - it also preserves them better and stops them getting damaged. This video also has a little run down on The Pop-Up Channel's Playlists which can help to guide you around the maze of pop-up tutorials.

Thank you for all your hard work. You truly are an inspiration. Thanks to your tutorials, I made 2 pop-up books of my own and gifted them to my favorite stand-up comedians (they loved them!)
Favourite stand-up comedians! I'm intrigued!
@@thepop-upchannel4919 Teo Stand-up and Victor Bara. Thay have a podcast together. The books were about that podcast. Unfortunately, they're from Romania so you wouldn't know them but you'll have to trust me they're really good :))
I have your book and try to make a pop-up card. You are an incredible teacher. Thank you.😍
So good to see you again! I've learned so much from you. Based largely on things in your videos, I have made three of my own pop-up books. I made a Winnie the Pooh and Wizard of Oz for myself and an Alice through the Looking Glass for a friend. Labors of love, that's for sure. Thanks for all the great tutorials.
Wonderful!
Pop up is amazing and mind blowing...!!!
Limitless creativity...

You are amazing!!
Nice tutorial 😄
Sir you are really a miracle of paper crafts👌👏👏👏👏👏
Best channel keep the content going im a big fan
Thank you so much! ❤❤
thanks so much!!
Your channel is amazing! I live in Ukraine and it's really hard to think about art now because of the war and mostly every night bombing. But your works inspire me to make different pop_up cards and it's incredible! This paper work calms me down and saves from the anxiety
Thank you so much for your lessons!
Thank you so much for your lovely message. It's wonderful to hear that the videos can be helpful in such terribly difficult times. Stay safe, Duncan
What a wonderful channel! I'm attempting a diorama in a box (balsa wood, airdry clay, etc), but I want the walls and ceiling of the "room" to "pop-up" when the lid is opened, forcing the viewer to look in from the front; like a Book Nook. I've been driving myself mad trying to figure out the mechanics when I suddenly realized.... I'm trying to "reinvent" the pop-up! Thank you for this incredible archive of info!!
Thank you!!! 😊😊👍👍
Thank you sir ☕
Thank you 👍🌹
Nice video👍🏻
Very helpful
What a good advice because my experiments are here and there in my work place that is a madnes but I love it
Eres muy bueno en lo que haces felicitacaciones
hello greetings from Nicaragua, my name is Michael and I love pop up art very much and I would like to learn it a lot to be able to make those wonderful pop ups for my daughter, just like you, I wish you many blessings.
I used to always gut my UHU glue at Poundland but they don’t seem to have it anymore. Where do you buy yours, Duncan?
That is where I get it - but they used to have a large stock of very big tubes these days they just have a few small tubes available. But I see UHU is available on Amazon.
Thanks for your reply! I’ll have a look there 😊
Спасибо большое! Как всегда интересно! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Tengo ganas de abrazar a este señor.

훌륭한!
Sir, where are you, I need someone like you on UA-cam, your video is very useful for all of us who watch it :)
Just finished filming some more tutorials - so... they're on their way!
@@thepop-upchannel4919 Okey im waiting you to make a vidio! ^^
@@thepop-upchannel4919 Yay!
I enjoy your videos so much that I have made a small investment in the tools of the art . It is very accessible to those on a budget . Looking forward now to following your playlists and or your videos chronologically in the hope I can achieve a little book . Loved your examples of old books to show us the principles . Do you know of any 1960's psychedelic pop ups or ones related to Mesmer .
Most of the pop-ups in the 1960s were being designed by Kubasta in Czechoslovakia. Graphics International in the US started producing pop-ups in 1965. Some of these books could possibly be described as "Wacky" - but never anything psychedelic that I'm aware of. And Mesmer - I don't know what that is.
@@thepop-upchannel4919 Thankyou . The designs sound interesting
Hi, do you have an electronic copy of your most recent pop up book for purchase? I have the physical copy, but would like to read it on a computer. Thanks!
Sorry - I don't have anything like that - I suppose you might find something on line.
🥰شكرا
Please continue the training.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Really enjoyed your video! More intuitive for me to learn how to make pop-up book structures, I am researching on the topic of children's pop-up books recently, is it convenient to do an email interview with you?☺
Sorry to be so slow answering you - I've been away, and out of touch, for all of November.. Yes, you can ask me questions via email. My address is on the end of the tutorial videos.
👏👏👏👏😍😍
wow’s 😮❤
Just discovered your channel because...algorythm. Went to buy card stock & I'm plodding along. Fantastic bit by bit clear, precise explanations.
But...I'm allergic to the glue. Gives me a headache & sinuses feel attacked by needles. Using rice glue, works fine with 160gsm paper but...might not hold that long. Any suggestion of another solvent-free glue that might be more resistant over time?
Thank you.
I'm not an expert on glue - you could try PVA or UHU solvent free.
@@thepop-upchannel4919 Thank you!
Can you recommend any pop up books that are more an educational type for making your own? (like you often show in your vids). I would love one that exhibits all the main mechanisms you dedicate your tutorials to 🙏🙏
ua-cam.com/video/OaoQ3HfDNhc/v-deo.html
Thank you! Why not you oganise a video where you show your followers projects. I have made many pop ups following your tutorials. We would need an email where we can send you a video and you can comment it and explain how to improve it?
Thank you for the excellent suggestion - I've been thinking about a series of "Reaction Videos" where I go through individual books admiring and explaining them - your idea could well fit into that. I'd like to do something of the sort but I am a bit busy with other things at the moment.
Dear Ducan,
I write from France and I can say that your works and books are very interesting for me. I really improve my pleasure to build your pop-ups.
I have a little problem with the horse (page 152 and 153 of your book). I don't understand how to glu the tail. There are two parts and I don't know how to manage them. I can't found the place for the two piece of paper which are made for the tail.
Could you help me please ?
Many thanks and sorry for my poor english.
Thierry.
PS : I was hoping that one of your vidéos describe the building of the horse but I didn't find.
Hi Thierry, The grey piece of the tail is an Angle-Folded Strip (see page 106, and Tutorial 8 at 7.45). The short end of the grey piece glues underneath the body of the horse - the black piece is then glued on top of it. I hope the model works now. Best wishes, Duncan
Future me is gonna be mad that I'm watching this at 2am
Very useful video! Thanks! I've created a book for one of my exams (in paper technology) and I learned a lot of mechanisms from your tutorials :) I'd like to show you my work, can I send an email with a booktrailer? Thanks in advance
Yes, I'd be delighted to have a look at your pop-up book. My email address is at the end of the videos.
I miss your videos ☹️
Can you do tutorial for geometry solids like icosahedron, Great stellated dodecahedron
Simple geometric solids like cubes and pyramids are relatively easy (See tutorials 14 and 21). Anything approaching spherical (like an icosahedron) is much more difficult (Tutorials 61 and 62). As for a pop-up stellated dodecahedron (!) - that's way beyond anything I could design though there may well be a genius out there who could do it.
I am Sharmila, studying in grade 12 and i had been given a topic about my hometown. I planned to go with making popups and your videos have been really helpful for me in making my work.
I just want to ask you about |making temples| like the Meenakshi Amman temple located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India as well as |waterfall flowing down from a mountain|. Could you please give reference regarding how to use popup mechanisms in these topics?
Anticipating a faster reply. Thank you!
Sorry to be so slow getting back to you. For the temple I would look at trying to combine a shape based on Tutorial 6 with the ends closed in using the mechanisms explained in Tutorial 21. A waterfall that's a difficult suggestion - I might try making a hill/landscape type shape using mechanism explained in tutorial 19 and then illustrating the waterfall on it.
Hola, me encanta como explica, tiene algún libro editado, como se llama?? Me encantaría poder comprarlo
El libro se llama..."Pop-Up Design and Paper Mechanics - How to make folding paper sculpture" ...generalmente disponible en Amazon o eBay.
Muchísimas muchísimas gracias 🫂

Hello sir, i am a ungraduate student from Indonesia. Hmmm ,can i ask you for some question. By the way, right now i am doing my research related to pop up.
Here my question, i am so glad if you want to see and answer my question 😁.
1. Are we can make a floor plan pop up ? Is that possible sir ? Because i want 3d view from my pop up with floor plan content.
2. If can do it, can you give me some reference to do it ?
Thanks sir 😁
I usually think that a floor plan is flat. But if you want to make it 3D Maybe you could use a Right-Angle V-Fold (Tutorial2) to raise Parallelograms (Tutorial 5). Another mechanism that might be useful is the Zigzag Fold (Tutorial 20). I hope your project goes really well.
@@thepop-upchannel4919 Thankyou for the answer sir, it's really help my research 🙏🏼
