That steamer you bought at a garage sale isn't for carpet. It's for steaming wrinkles outta clothes. That's why there's such a tall metal piece. It's designed so you can hook clothes on a hanger to it and steam them. It's a nice tool to have, and you got a deal. 🙂

I miss living in Alaska. This, and auroras, are the best part of Arctic living.

We used to fill baby pools with hot water at Rochester Institute of Technology the same way.

A 55gal plastic drum or something similar filled with hot water and pressurized with an air compressor would make epic steam. Possibly even a homemade snow maker, similar to what they have at ski resorts. Keep it up!!! Always interesting.

I’m not so sure that’s a carpet cleaner. It looks more like a clothes steamer to me. They use them in clothes shops/stores to steam the creases out after unpacking. It’s quicker an easier than using an iron.

We we told to have glow plugs installed in anchorage because Seattle didn’t know how to do it properly for Barrow Alaska weather. I know the engine block, oil pan, and transmission, and radiator were necessary locations for glow plugs (as if it were diesel).
