The Schützenfest (target shooting festival): Past and Present Perspectives

A Schützenfest (marksmen's festival) is a traditional festival or fair featuring a target shooting competition in the cultures of both Germany and Switzerland. Nothing similar has survived in the Anglo Saxon world, which is likely due to the different civic traditions in each. This presentation will discuss the history, as well as present some examples of targets from the first half of the 20th century.
