Classical guitar legend, maestro Pepe Romero, Spain, runs the public masterclass as the part of the educational program of the Moscow International 'Guitar Virtuosi' festival, 2019.
Student - Sergey Perelekhov, Russia.
Piece - 'Castillos de España' ("Castles of Spain") by Federico Morreno-Torroba.
The masterclass runs in English with continuous translation into Russian.

It's not just getting out of your own way, it's really feeling the love you have in your heart, for the people, places, time/time in your life, good and bad
lot of great young talented Russian guitarists showed up in each festival.
I can`t say about other guitarists but this one plays wonderful .
The value of having fun in, and while performing, is a great asset to a performers arsenal. I believe what Maestro Romero was attempting to point in the direction of, to the already fine guitarist, is that understanding purity of heart of not only the performer, but of the guitar maker, the composer and all that went into the ideas behind the compositions. Classical guitar is after all built on classical experiences of the classical kind, it's not jazzed up, improvised or baroque, though all possibly influential, the essence of the classical guitar is classic. That's my conclusion fresh from studying this masterclass, and I believe the guitarist, Sergey, is it? Did benefit considerably in the considerations offered by the maestro. As he said, "...this is for my taste, it's up to you whether you like it or not."

Пепе говорит очень важные вещи, которые находятся за пределами инструмента и техники исполнителя. Это очень ценные мысли, которые применимы для любого музыканта. Простое перебирание пальцами по струнам/ клавишам/ клапанам- это далеко не всё, что может и должен делать музыкант. Очень важно вкладывать душу в исполнение и слушать. Не просто слушать ушами, а слышать музыку у себя в голове. Без этого всё мертво. Отличный пример отсутствия внутреннего слуха - Додекафония - для тех, кто говорит, что достаточно иметь хорошую технику... Конечно, если вы пытаетесь создать Франкенштейна.
Другой вопрос в том, что эти знания в полной мере применимы только когда исполнитель не отвлекается на технические проблемы, поэтому для кого-то это пока что просто вода.

В начале этого часового видео гитарист Сергей Перелехов отлично исполнил две части из Торроба " Замки Испании " . А после легендарный гитарист Пепе Ромеро начал лить словесную "воду" о переливании энергии от исполнителя к слушателям через гитару . Я послушал 20 с лишним минут и , сделав над собой усилие дослушал до конца .Если речь Пепе Ромеро стала интереснее , то чуть-чуть ( на капельку ) . Тем не менее Сергей сыграл одну из частей "Замки Испании" в конце этого видео ещё лучше , чем в начале .
А я дослушал до конца, сравнил, как Сергей Перелехов сыграл это до и после мастер-класса, и понял, чем крут Пепе Ромеро. Надо немного выйти из нашего ритма и войти в его ритм, тогда все становится на места.
@@smrnff надо набраться терпения и дослушать его лекцию до конца , хотя Сергей Перелехов и в начале играл по-моему хорошо , просто лучше ,чем Пепе Ромеро .

@@smrnff Сергей Перелехов играет лучше очень многих , не то что Пепе Рамеро , но и Дмитрия Илларионова .Хотя сравнивать с Пепе Ромеро некорректно , учитывая его возраст .
Я бы не сказал, что первое исполнение было отличным. Он начал неуверенно, были явные проблемы со звуком и вообще тема просто не раскрыта. После промывки мозга он заиграл гораздо лучше.

Compare with masterclass of Andres Segovia 1965 and you`ll see difference . Segovia had sat with a guitar in his hand immediately had showed how to play . This Pepe hadn`t produced any sound . Why ?
That is a meaningless philosophical speeches that's all what Pepe is capable of ?
Unfortunately, Pepe never demonstrates with the guitar in hand... I prefer Segovia's way.
I didn’t want to hear a demonstration, he described every feeling and poured his brain into the young man effortlessly!

Romero gave close to zero practical suggestions or information , a waste of time.
Difficult not to agree . Especialy in the first 20 minutes of his speeсh .Though he knows that the first impression is very important .
yes, Romero talked rubbish on his own Philosophy of guitar playing...why we played the guitar, you and the guitar, guitar has soul, bah, ba. ba...Who care...? As long as the player understand what he is playing and let the audiences enjoy his playing.
Hogwash. The guy doesn’t need advice about his position or right hand; clearly he has excellent technique. Pépés advice about hearing all the voices and listening intently is exactly the lesson that needs more attention. He is talking about making music. A bad masterclass is just about playing guitar.

I perfectly understand the situation, a master class is different for each performer,Mr Romero as the master he is, saw what this young man is looking for and skips the technical advice and concentrates in something that for some people is rubbish for others is a new level beyond the reading,practicing etc yoyo ma is an example of this, it is an experience and actually no that hard, music has a flow and you become part of it, energy and matter have things in common, two aspects that are present when you play, give it a try , think of something like gravitacional waves or a simple wave in a 3d format, incorporate sound in that movement, so his lesson may sound like a metaphysical concept but is actually the opposite.
looks like the player has no idea what this guy wants from him ... first rule for all instrumental teachers: have the instrument in hand and show, what you are talking about.
