- Toe is defined as difference of the distance between the leading edge of the wheels and the distance between the trailing edge of the wheels when viewed from top of the vehicle. Toe is something that is fixed by the designer and can't be altered while driving. For changing toe angles , Mercedes came up with DAS (Dual axis steering system) ,which can change the toe angle of tire while driving on track.
In this video you will learn:-
1) What is toe angle?
2) How toe effects the handling characteristics of vehicle?
3) What is the toe angle preferred for rear and front wheel drive vehicle.
4) What is Thrust angle?
5) What is dual axis steering system and how it works?

I love the way you use to explain. This is a fabulous effort. But I'd like to ask you about something. why did you mention the rolling resistance in rear wheel drive and there is indeed a tractive force?
Your videos are massively helpful and I like your content very much, great job and keep up the good work.
Thank you !
best!!! the content, visuals, explanations, theories, voice, efforts. got a new subscriber :)
Thank you😀
Why for rear wheel drive rolling resistance is taken as parameter to explain the concept while for front wheel drive you have taken tractive force?
Very insightful video brother. Thank you as always. I just wanted to point out that race cars will mostly use anti-ackerman steering angle (esp F1,Indy). As weight will transfer to the outside tires in a turn.
Hello.
I'm discovering your channel with eager. It's full of knowledge ! Thanks for sharing !
5:51 Is it true that Toe-In improves mid corner grip ? (at the expanse of slower turn-in).
Another question.
My car (RWD) has nearly zero toe angle on the front axis.
The alignment shop I've been did this adjustment to improve fuel efficiency. (no rubbing)
But when I'm driving very fast on the autobahn (200+ km/h) the front axle feels unstable.
It doesn't give me confidence and I never manage to reach my top speed as I think something might be wrong.
I thought adding a slight Toe-in could stabilized it but you're saying in this video, zero toe gives the best straight line behavior.
Is adding more camber then will help with stability at high speed ?
Finally, to reach even tyre wear, what is the best camber & toe combination ?
Thank you.
good explanation bro🙌
Hey bro, your video is very helpful for preparing sae Baja india
Thank you
Awesome work dude!🙌
Thank you 🙌
Great work dude 👌👌!!
Thank you !
Really helpful 👍
Glad you like it !
Is there any video on calculations on turning radius
Will make it soon, Stay tuned.
Can you explain camber thrust.?.
