Those are the only two print on demand apps that are available as standard but you may be able to set up custom API with the help of the ShopWired team for your partner of choice.
I know this is just a quick review video and your written content includes a lot of information but what a lot of review videos forget is to cover the nitty-gritty of setting up banking info to actually get paid, as well as PAYMENT GATE WAYS, one thing I did not find in your reviews (unless I missed something which is entirely possible), is when comparing shopify and shopwired, shopify provides them self as a payment gate way, it is not obvious in reviews that you must sign up separately for stripe etc to make a payment gateway separately from Shopwired and then link them.
Setting up payment gateways would fall more under tutorials than in a review and different payment gateways have different set up and integration methods and most platforms cover this in their own documentation.
Thank you, ShopWired can be used for dropshipping as they offer order export via CSV, which can then be sent to your dropshipping partner. The only app they offer for direct integration is with AliExpress.
Hi. Your video was very useful to me, so thankyou. Just one question. With the legal side of things. Terms and conditions, privacy policy etc, do you upload your own written terms. And also are they displayed as links for the customers. Do the customers have to click on an I agree button?
Hi, glad to hear the video was helpful. ShopWired do have templates that can be customised by you or you can choose to use your own by creating a page for them, these pages can then be added to link lists that are displayed around your site. As for the checkout, you can choose whether you want them to agree to your t&c's before completing the checkout process or not.
Yes, it is a huge improvement. I haven't had chance to do an updated video yet but have covered it in my written review www.ecommerce-gold.com/shopwired-review/
ShopWired could be a good option, you can add live chat to your site but this does need to be via a third party, you can also add a contact form. For personalised products, you can create custom fields for your product pages, where customers can place their personalisation requests.
Really torn between this and Shopify, will probably stick with Shopify for now as it's what I've learnt ecomm on, but may swap over when I'm up and running and bringing in sales - hopefully :)
It is always best to try and avoid moving between platforms as it is not a straightforward process and can impact SEO and search rankings. If your site starts generating traffic and sales, then it is best to stick with the platform you are on unless you have a very good reason for moving.
Yes, you need to have your own domain name, plus it is always best practice to use a domain name registrar that is different from the company that provides your website.
Great review but I'm left with four unanswered questions... 1. Do they have a theme with a Mega Menu? 2. Can more in depth bulk editing of products etc be done via a CSV file? 3. Can postage cost prices be assigned to specific categories and sub categories? 4. What sort of Search system is used and can it be customized? I would ask them myself but there is still no phone support at the moment and I cant open a test shop for some reason because I'm getting ... This site can’t be reached admin.myshopwired took too long to respond. Try:Checking the connection Checking the proxy and the firewall Running Windows Network Diagnostics ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT This may be down to the fact I changed my ISP from NOW to Sky and may need time for the connection to "settle" according to Sky Support.
Thank you and hope it was helpful. I'll try and answer as best I can: 1. I haven't seen a mega menu on a theme but I think they do have updates coming for their themes so this might change 2. They have a CSV template for their products, with lots of options, so I would assume that you could use the CSV for bulk editing but I haven't personally tried it 3. Not that I am aware of 4. The ShopWired search is powered by elastic and I don't think it is customisable. I think you can still send them a message from their contact page. It does seem like it is something to do with your ISP as I've just logged in straightaway but if you are able to set up a test shop, it would be much appreciated if you want through my link www.ecommerce-gold.com/shopwired
@@EcommerceGold Hi, I'm getting the same page when I click on the 14 day trial button and the trial for free button but I'll try to remember to use your link next time I try. Do you know of a Shopwired website with lots of products so I can test the search engine?
That is strange as it is working on all different browsers for me. The one that you could try would be superdrug opticians, which is on their customer examples pages as they have quite a lot of products.
Is this designed for dropshipping? you don't mention anything about suppliers. UK suppliers info is all I needed so I am disappointed with this review :(
Why would I talk about suppliers when I am reviewing an ecommerce platform to see whether it is any good for building an online store? It can be used for dropshipping.
@@EcommerceGold I read into it a bit more and their section on dropshipping is quite poor. Put me off of using shop wired altogether. Thanks for the content though, some will find it beneficial im sure.
@@EcommerceGold I'm looking into shopify but I was hoping for local suppliers, not 1-month-long shipping times from China. Was hoping shopwired would be offering that 😓 do you have a guide on how to find UK based suppliers that work with shopify? Would be amazing!
I don't really deal with dropshipping, so can't offer much advice but it might be worth checking out Avasam and Syncee, they both have integrations with Shopify (www.ecommerce-gold.com/shopify) and also EKM (www.ecommerce-gold.com/ekm), which is a UK based ecommerce platform.
I moved to shopwired from shopwired two months ago and my sales have fallen right off, do you think it would help to move back to shopify or should I just stick at it now that the move is done ? Any thoughts on getting my rankings up would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Hi Alison, sorry to hear that sales have fallen off but unfortunately, that is one of the issues that can arise from moving from one platform to another as the sitemaps are going to be different and unless you can do 301 redirects, you are effectively re-submitting your site to search engines. If your SEO is good for your products and site in general, it should recover itself, it just might take a little bit of time. I would be inclined to stick with it, especially if you are liking using ShopWired.
@@EcommerceGold thanks so much, there is an awful lot I really like about shopwired and would be loathed to give up on it now and all the hardwork I’ve invested in it. Do you do SEO tutorials too?
If you are happy with it, then I would stick with ShopWired. I have just finished a product page SEO guide on my blog (www.ecommerce-gold.com/product-page-seo/) and have also done a video on the same thing (ua-cam.com/video/bkLwEvobMk4/v-deo.html), which might be helpful

It sounds great! I’ve been watching Shopwired’s tutorial videos and they now have text pages where you can add About Me, privacy policy pages etc now!
ShopWired is a very good option for UK businesses and they do have some good content creation tools for pages and also a blog as well.
Liking the look of shopwired. Can I integrate with other print on demand apps other than Printify and Printful?
