When you discovered Maneskin, they had already been famous in Italy for 4 years. And their biggest hits have always been ballads. Sad and deep ballads. You can't box them into what is just one aspect of them. And yes, it is Damiano who died suddenly drowned and returns to say goodbye to those he loves. The surrounding nature rebels against what is happening, people get scared, friends stay close to him... and he returns to drown in his grave.

My take is that he's drowning...in pain, good catch he doesn't have an umbrella, and his bandmates neither, as i think the umbrellas are a protection from the pain of the loss (the rain). Anyway like the song the video can have multiple takes and isn't this amazing?

Video wise, I just figure that he's a ghost, who realizes he died, and now he says goodbye to everyone and accepts that he has to go.

Yes and what will be the saddest part of him, the one it won't never be his own? The funeral, death, can be the feeling one has while realising that all the love he or she wanted to experience with a person will never happen. He lives and dies without it. That is sad.... He has lost the expression of his Anima and thrown in a state of mourning for ever.... He feels alone and empty without who he thought would have realized and completed him. This song is very psychological I think...

Maneskin catalog cover a lot of different genres, all the 4 members are involved in writing their music and because they each have very different music taste they bring very different input into the creating process, besides being Italian they naturally comes from a melodic music background which translates in the many ballads ....

Ok, I looked at your Måneskin playlist and 2 were in English and 2 were in Italian. This is a power rock ballad like many of their Italian songs are. Check out Torna a Casa with lyrics and it is not about love but about their Muse/inspiration.

Ciao ragazzi ... Scusate sono italiana e non parlo inglese e il vostro video non ha i sottotitoli ... Spero di non essere ripetitiva ma vi spiego l'origine della canzone e del video ... Damiano il cantante del gruppo ha scritto questa canzone mentre era a Los Angeles per lavorare al nuovo album ( che esce il 20 gennaio 2023 ) e si sentiva solo lontano dalla famiglia e dalla fidanzata ( Giorgia Soleri ) e ha pensato " se muoio adesso i miei cari sanno quanto li amo ? " E ha scritto la canzone in una notte un po' come se fosse una lettera di addio ... Il video racconta il funerale di Damiano ... Lui torna sulla terra per dire addio ai suoi cari ma all'inizio non sa che il funerale e suo e nessuno lo riconosce ... Poi lui si ricorda della sua morte e torna in se per fare ciò che deve ( la lettera che esce dalla bocca è il simbolo delle parole non dette 😉) poi tutti lo riconoscono e scappano terrorizzati tranne gli amici del gruppo che cercano di trattenerlo con loro ma Damiano sa che il suo tempo è finito e quindi torna nella sua tomba ( e piena di acqua a simboleggiare tutte le lacrime versate per lui ) ... Questa canzone ora è molto sentita da Damiano perché poco dopo l'uscita di questa canzone ha perso suo nonno 😭 e la famiglia per il funerale ha fatto suonare questa canzone 😭 . Scusate la lunghezza del messaggio 😩 spero vi aiuti a capire meglio
