Painterly Embossed Effect Affinity Photo

In this video we are going to take a look at a filter that can produces a surprising result in that creates a great painterly, textured effect! Using the various settings we can change this effect and create a different result every time you use it!

Interesting! I have always done this with tone mapping, combined with a couple unsharp mask and denoise passes to give it a smooth look. One thing I would suggest with your method is to play around with blend modes as well. People always leave blend on normal but you get really cool results changing blend modes as well.

Yes that would be the other way to create an embossed look JB ATL but very involved. With everything thing it's about experimenting. Blend modes can give some interesting results depending to the tonal range of the image. Cheers David

Funny enough, blend mode was the first thing I fiddled with once I had a lighting effect I was pleased with.

It was while I was experimenting (also known as what does this do if I?? :) with the Lighting filter that I found it, still this effect was unexpected phlotographer :) Cheers David
