My vote is for you to do the Pulitzer video! Tops and Flops and the obscure ones. 😃 Glad you are both able to get out and about! Enjoy shopping and seeing family! It is strange being back with people for the first time. I don’t think I got much work done the first day we were back at work in person because I was just so overwhelmed (and happy) to see all the people!
You’ve worked hard at protecting yourselves and others. Thanks for sharing about the impact of returning to some daily routines like work etc. It’s not like getting out of school for the summer. We’ll get there but if there is ever a time for good will and patience as people go at their own recovery speed, it is now. I view your Pulitzer reading and rating project as a growing thing. I find it interesting to see the influence that each next book has for you at present while taking us back to why you began this project in the first place. Awesome. You know, someone should make a little tutorial for booktubers who want to style up their channel!
I would love that tutorial! I don’t want it too pumped up, but a little bit more would be fun. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Pulitzer contact and adjusting to the new normal.
Hi Kelly, today is Friday and I had my second vaccine. I’m 70 but they just opened it up to my age group about three weeks ago. I am grateful and so far I’m not having symptoms like the first shot which seems a little upside down. I hope to even do a video on Sunday if I keep on feeling good. I haven’t read Shakespeare in a long time but I’m so backed up in my reading right now, I’m going to have to put it off a little longer. Good for you. I hope you and Jason are fine. Aloha
Marilyn, so glad you got your second dose! I’m also really surprised your age group only opened up 3 weeks ago! I really hope you don’t experience any side effects from the second dose. I had chills and body aches the evening after, but the next morning I was fine.
That's a rainbow of sticky notes in Parade's End. I think you are right, you have to settle back into the language with Shakespeare and it gradually starts to flow. Thanks for the Covid update. Great that you feel a little more free to get out and about. Seeing family is so important. I don't think it matters if you can't show all the Pulitzers. It will still be an interesting video.
Ros, yes it seems there is a demand for more Pulitzer videos. I had no idea! Yes, I am very excited to spend next weekend with my parents. It has been very hard to go so long without seeing them.
I'm glad Jason's family are all recovered, and DO NOT feel guilt for getting the vaccine. Getting the vaccine means you'll not only have less chance of getting but also transmitting it, so you've done your civic duty in helping the stop the spread. Also, yes, a video on best and worst Pulitzers would be great because even though you may spoken about them in other videos, having them all in one video would be illuminating, and you may even see some trends in your tastes. XO
I would enjoy a video on your top and bottom Pulitzer titles for sure! Or perhaps you could do your favourite (and least favourite!😄) winner from each decade or something like that if you wanted to do something a little bit different..? Pad Thai - delicious! Of course, now I want delivery food but...there are zero restaurants that will deliver to my place!🤣
Glad to hear that you have an IG account. 😊 As for Pulitzer, I was hoping to hear more a Tops and Flops than necessarily Top 10 or Bottom 10. Maybe you could choose some that you agree or disagree with the average rating on Goodreads. I read The Optimist's Daughter and didn't care for it and then noticed that it only has a 3.50 avg. rating (just as an example). I'm finally in line to get vaxed next week, but have to get the J&J 🤷♀️ .
Lots of comments related to Pulitzer videos so I will definitely be thinking about this. I like your idea of comparing it with a Goodreads rating. I’m glad to hear you are up for a vaccine. Truthfully whatever vaccine we get, there is some risk. Stay safe and let me know how it goes, will you? You can even send me a message on Instagram! 😃
Congrats on being fully vaccinated. I just got _Hamnet_ thank you. Don’t feel guilty. The faster we get people vaccinated the fewer people will get it.
I remember really loving Henry IV part one when I was at school- Falstaff especially and then when I reread it a few years ago those parts fell flat so interested to see what you think Kelly. Oh, and I would like the best, the worst AND the most obscure/forgotten Pulitzer videos! 😉
We too have been incredibly careful--and now my spouse and I are looking forward to our second shots in two weeks. We have such high hopes that next month we can see at least a little more of the world. Congrats to you both. You've read all the Pulitzers?! Very cool. I would really like to read Julia Peterson's Scarlet Sister Mary at some point, since she is from the area where I grew up. But I am definitely a little nervous about how dated it might be. I would love to hear your thoughts on it and everything else!
For the Pulitzer video, maybe mention a standout book from each decade would be good? I need to do some prep for Shaketube, I havent read shakespeare since school so need to get past that.
It would be great to have you participate in Shaketember! My favorite Booktube event of the year! But yes, I feel like I am still so unfamiliar with Shakespeare that I need to stretch those muscles. The decade idea for a Pulitzer list could be really interesting. I will give it some thought! Thank you!
Yes, Kelly please make a video about your experience reading the Pulitzer Prize winners. I feel that our best, or worst books are ever changing, so I wouldn’t hold you to your current opinions being carved in stone.
Thanks Jan! I am definitely planning a Pulitzer series as so many people expressed interest. Thank you for not holding me to opinions on books I read 15 years ago! 😂
Congrats on full vaccination! I am two weeks out as of today, too, and let me tell you, I am SO excited to go to Target tomorrow because I definitely need some new clothes (think I'm down to like 3-4 pairs of socks that don't have holes in them 😂) I'd love to see a video on your worst Pulitzer Prize books. Which ones got 1 or 2 stars and why were they so bad? 🙂
Being somewhat née to your channel, would love to see a Tops and Bottom Pulitzer discussion. But understand if you’ve already discussed a lot. However you choose to discuss is fine as I always love learning about new books to read.
Hey Kelly, Happy Friday to you. I like your thumbnail pic for this. :-) Glad to hear Jason's family are doing better from being ill. Is scary for sure. Also that things sound to be sorta normalizing there. Like you say though of course, it's important to remain vigilant overall still. I don't know much about the Pulitzer, so however you choose to cover it in videos is A-OK by me since I'll be learning something new. :-) Happy reads and everything else your way. -Carm
Carm, you must be one of the kindest people on all of UA-cam. Thank you for always chiming in and sharing your thoughts. Did you get a vaccine? It always good to hear from you. Have a good weekend!
@@booksimnotreading Ah, right back at you, my friend. :-) I'm hoping to get my first one later this month. I'm in the 2nd priority group for our state, and we're still in the 1st phase...getting there though...
One I had before I started a Booktube Channel, but I like having an account that is focused on my channel. I add my TBR when I post TBR videos, it keeps me on track for Booktube events. There are people who I knew long before I had a Booktube channel that I would prefer to not to know about my Booktube channel, etc. Does this make any sense? 😂 Sounds a bit neurotic, but it does truly help me sort out what I want to do on my channel versus just a big TBR and read list, along with people I would prefer to not watch my channel as it is a separate part of my life.
@@booksimnotreading yeah, that makes a lot of sense! I'm still trying out different ways of keeping track of all this BookTube stuff - it's hard to get it all organized!!
Hello friend. How have you been doing? I found some time to start Angle of Repose. Been slow going though due to time constraints here. I see Jason is back in the office, I am probably heading there May/June. Not necessary at all. How does Jason feel about it? Also, how would you consider your town/state in terms of reading culture? Some places are known to have a lot of readers, some not as much. I imagine it is very conservative there. Still have too much going on, sorry I have not been on much lately. But I always love seeing your videos and I thank you for posting! Stay safe and have an elk burger! :)
Glad to hear you started Angle of Repose! Jason was really anxious the first day, but he is feeling better. All of his co-workers are vaccinated or in the process of getting vaccinated. Most people are not readers, I would say. It is quite a conservative state, but there are pockets of people we somehow find that think similar to how we do or we at least can find some common ground. How are you feeling about going back to work? Will people social distance? I don’t think you’ve told me where you live (which is fine!). Do you live in a place where reading is valued? Stay safe and be well.
@@booksimnotreading I am not happy to go back to the office. We are getting everything done from home and it is not necessary. I cannot say more for fear of being monitored but it stinks.
