I think the master cycle zero should be usable in both places because you get it so late in the game. It is made of the same material as shirens so it should be able to withstand the heat of both places at least. I guess it makes sense it's not allowed in the same places where horses aren't allowed either, if you think of it as just a fancier "horse" for link. That said, death mountain makes sense because horses burn, whereas the desert not so much. Horses are ok in extreme cold so the desert heat shouldn't be too much either. Perhaps both horses and the cycle could move slower in the desert sands to keep it a harder place to travel. This would also encourage the player to keep using sand seals in the desert. In the end, I don't think it is a bad desicion to forbid the cycle from death mountain and gerudo desert. I'm sure the developers have their justified reasons for these desicions. Edit: split the comment in sections so it's easier to read.
Yea its so late in the game that it doesn't matter, and the desert would be super cool because it's a big open space. I don't actually go to the desert any more that I have ro because of this. I think the sand seals kinda suck compared to the MCZ anyway
i can see that you know a lot but how the hell do you get botw on pc like i have it on my Nintendo but like i want mods too :( (just saying i have around 135 hours on the game but now i have gotten a new pc and i want to play on my pc because videos in stuff)
I think the reason the MCZ isn't allowed in these parts is because they both offer unique transportation, like in the desert there's sand seals and in death mountain theres minecarts.
I think you should be able to use the master cycle in the desert and in death mountain. You get it very late in the game, so by that point you’ve probably already explored most of those regions. Riding around in the desert could be fun, going and jumping over the sand dunes. The wheels could bog down in the sand so it’s harder to drive the bike, and the lack of resources would make refueling difficult. Death mountain has lots of narrow paths with tight corners, which would make driving difficult and you have to make sure you don’t go off the path and fall into lava.
One guess I have is that it's to have the Master Cycle Zero be closer to horses, which are not evolutionarily meant for deserts or mountains. I mean, from what I've heard, the Koroks you can get by jumping over fences can also be gotten with the MCZ anyway. The other is that it would be impractical in a realistic sense. Cheats aside, the desert's sand would likely bog down the MCZ (this was actually a plot point in Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness). Death Mountain, on the other hand, is just dangerous in general, so driving there is just gonna get you a lava bath faster than you can say "Mario Kart".
I doubt the creators did it for a more realistic sense. I do think you are right for the horses thing, the MCZ does have a lot of the same abilities as a horse and they both share the fact that they are unable to go on death mountain or in the gerudo desert, but I do not think the creators did this in a realistic sense. A lot of the stuff in botw is not realistic, and they did not even follow the facts that they made for certain animals that are only in the game. For example, the Hyrule Compendium says that the Hearty Lizard gets its color from the food that it eats from the dense forests that it lives in. So, you would expect to only find it in forests. However, a lot of forests in the game do not have many hearty lizards living in them, with the only forest where they can be frequently found is in Faron Woods (at least from my experience). Moreover, they can be found in Kara Kara Bazaar which is in the middle of a desert, no where near the type of environment the game states they should be in.
@@Crunchkycrizipy Yeah well I think the MCZ is an all terrain motorcycle with increased friction and control so that it's meant for deserts, mountains, and grasslands alike. Nintendo had no legitimate reason for disabling usage of it in those areas because by the time we have the MCZ we've already explored the majority of the desert/mountains.
Are you saying there are koroks you can get by jumping certain fences on your horse? I have recently beaten ganon and part of the DLC pack and barely used the horses throughout the game.
Yes, you SHOULD be able to use the master cykle anywhere and here's my argument. In the basegame horses are not allowed in the dessert and Death mountain. It makes sense, it's supposed to be these harsh areas and forcing you to be challenged by it. Makes sense. But the master cykle is introduced so late in the game, basically you'd probably already have explored everything and be able to obliterate Gannon in no time. The master cykle is not needed, but just added fun and it doesn't really matter that it "ruins" the hardness of the dessert, cause it's already been explored and conquered. So, the master cykle should not be restricted since it really serves no purpose to do it that late in the game.
honestly idk why they thought it was a good idea to stop the master cycle going in the two places it looks like the most fun to drive in. and i don’t think it’s because it ruins progress, because chances are if you have the master cycle you’ve already explored these areas
probably what i would do to balance it would be to make the mc0 consume more fuel in eldin or gerudo. lore wise that could make sense, the sand of gerudo desert requires more torque for the wheels and therefore more fuel, the heat of eldin burns the fuel already in the mc0 causing it to run out faster
I feel that the Master Cycle isn't allowed in Gerudo dessert because the devs wanted the sand seals and shield surfing to be the main mode of transportation within that region. Now as for Death Mountain, with how complex the paths can be would probably just be a pain to navigate with the Master Cycle as shown in the video.
Eh I can understand death mountain but wouldn't the shield suffering thing go double for hebra but you can use it there it kinda doesn't make sense really
Nice! Those mods look pretty cool. Also If I had to choose I'd say you should be able to ride the matercycle in the desert, but only when you get all gerudo desert shrines or something like that edit: also your editing got so good!
This video satisfies the longing itch of just wanting to ride the master cycle in the desert, which to me is one of the difficult terrain to travel in. Yeah you can buy a seal but they disappear after a while leaving me stranded in a hot desert a long ways a way from the closest civilisation. Yeah I can travel using shrines but that’s not the point! Thanks for coming to my rant. Great video 😅
I want to be able to ride the motorcycle in the desert at night it's such a cool feeling >:( And it wouldn't ruin the desert imo you get it so late into the game and would have already done every main quest for Gerudo Desert, I can't bring a horse in there but being able to blast through the sand on a Unicorn Harley seems like a great reward for my efforts Dunno why anyone would want to ride a motorcycle on death mountain tho
I guess it would make sand seals completely worthless and you would drive to lava easily in eldin region. Canonically i guess the motor would fill with sand or burn and explode.
I feel like it would be too hot, and it would overheat like how horses can't. Or you know bike and sand don't mix. ever see a motorcycle on sand? Bad times
I’d want it in the Gerudo Desert so it could be like off-roading, which would be AMAZIN, but not on Death mountain because I’d just always fall in lava :-:

The desert is the emptiest place in the game, I get better to explore with the feature made for sand travel, but still, it would be so fun to just ride around in emptiness, so they did a no no here
...you can only get the bike AFTER completing the divine beasts, so completing the main quest of the areas. theres not much more to be explored other than the great fairy fountain in gerudo. the bike would be hard to use on the death mountain anyway, rough terrain and constantly at the risk of falling into lava because of very narrow paths.
I would like if it was allowed anywhere. As you show on the video, its very hard to use the mastercycle there, so exploring it would still being hard, and in the desert, it would be cool to have limitations, like, in the sand the mastercycler being more slow and the fuel ending faster
This is the official botw what if channel now, and congrats on 100k! I noticed it seconds that person subbed to make this channel 100k! Ngl I actually danced when I noticed it lol.
my guess is because the horses cant go here and the bike has a similar mechanic so they just did it this way im pretty sure you also cant summon your horse with ancient armor in these areas of the game.
Gerudo desert yes but death mountain is more of a climbing type thing and the sharp turns well... it explains its self and mind you death mountain is full of lava, where the only road is the main road to the Goron village and that's barely a straight path but it's not hard to traverse
Pretty sure you have to clear the divine beast before you're even allowed to do the dlc quest to unlock the master cycle, which means you'd already have explored these area's the intended way to begin with. So the logic of "it'd be too easy" just doesn't work. It doesn't look like there's any glitches either. The only nintendo esque reason I can think of is either lore based or science/physics based.(I mean real world physics not what the game uses) Now that I think about it, looking at the entire franchise, horses have never been useable in desert/volcano areas without cheats.
I think they should have just let players pick whether or not to use it based on the environment, therefore no one would use it on Death Mountain because common sense. But let the players choose how important exploring is or trying to get every shrine or korok in the desert. I hate having to either run or use a sand seal to get from Gerudo town to Kara bazaar or the entrance to the desert from the stables. Having the option to use MCZ would have been better
Death mountain kinda makes sense, the motor would probably catch fire, but I think the gerudo made it impossible so you had to buy a sand seal and give them money
Also, the 2:00 part, in order to get it you have to do the divine beasts and the entire Champions Ballad, so you have to explore a bit to get it. And it’s not that easy to do so you’re going to have ended up exploring so you can get stronger and be able to do it, with shrines and stuff. Difficulty exploring for me isn’t a big enough reason to disable it there
my logic is that these areas are too hot for the mastercycle itself to withstand without the engine failing in some way. But also i wanna ramp the master cycle off death mountain let me live my dreams of flying like ET across a blood moon
Bit of a silly decision for it not to be allowed because in order to get it in the first place you have to of done all 4 divine beasts and found all 4 crazy hard to find locations in the regions so by then you've practically seen everything in each region so there isn't much of an argument of it takes away experience it can't because you've already milked it more enough it just to get the bike
Death mountain makes sense, it seems to complicated to get around there. You should be allowed to do it in the desert, because it's end game, and by then you've already done with the major parts of the desert
I think it would be cool if you could bring it in the desert but it was slowed down because of the sand or something, but it’s still fine without it especially considering sand seals are a thing along with sand boots
I think that if it would ruin the experience of exploring it and not be as hard that i think it was a good choice to make it not usable in those regions
The game shouldn't limit you with invisible walls, in death mounting you should be allowed tk bring your horse but the horse will catch on fire so u then won't bring ur horse (The MCZ is just dangerous to use there). In the desert horses could get bogged down in the sand and the MCZ could get its rear wheel stuck in the sand under certain conditions (e.g. accelerating too quickly) The reasons for not using this shouldn't be an invisible wall, it should actually be a reason
I think the MCZ should be allowed in the desert and Death Mt. because, like, you get it later in the game. You FIRST have to actually get the MCZ, so without it there would still be a great experience of hiking through the sand on foot . When you’re actually OP , THEN you get the cycle…! Therefore I think it should be allowed in the desert… but still not in Death Mt. *Also plz pin me*.
Okay, but that doesn't seem like a very valid reason when you consider that, by the time you get the bike, you've probably explored the map and done nearly everything. The entire point of the thing is to explore Hyrule in a new way and just have dumb fun with it. The desert seems like the perfect area to use it, so restricting it there specifically seems pretty stupid to me.
I think they might have disabled the master cycle in the desert because it is probably faster than the moldugas, making all the fights much easier. I dont exactly know why In death mountain it happens, but it could be due to the numb terrain, and the amount of glitches that can be pulled off by glitching into the rocks
As cool as it is. But I understand why you can't use the MCZ in both regions. As you say in the video, it would be much easier in the desert. Also, the sand robes would be useless then, too. And using it on Death Mountain would be suicidal. I would have fun anyway. Nintendo could have given you the option to use it there after freeing both titans. I also think it's a pity that you can't go into the desert by horse. Ganondorf also has a horse and can cross the desert. (In OOT at least). The Egyptians also had war horses in the desert. But yes, the trip would be a lot different if we could travel there by horse or MCZ.
I think master cycle zero should be allowed in all regions because it would make traveling those regions a lot more easier and a lot more fun and it would make it a lot more worth it to get the master cycle zero.
I think the reason you cant pull out the mcz in gerudo is that there already a mode of transportation the sand seal (idk what its called) and the reason for not being able to pull it out in eldin is because its a literal volcano its not really a good placw to use the mastercycle
The master cycle should be able to go anywhere because you do so much stuff to get it then realize you can ride around the desert and jumping of the sand dunes
Gerudo Desert is one thing, but I don't think this video properly shows just how poorly the Master Cycle handles in Death Mountain. It feels like EVERYTHING is a speed bump.
I know I’m really late on this but I think that the master cycle should be allowed in both. As it is canonically (confirmed by developers) to be the fifth divine beast, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t work in those regions, think of vah neboris and rudania. I understand that restricting ease of travel in those areas is good for the plot and exploration feel, however you’ve had to complete all four divine beasts and the champions ballad to even unlock it, so you’ve already experienced those places like that. In order to maintain some of that feel, I think that they could maybe make it slower in the desert and make it consume fuel faster, in order to reintroduce some difficulty, with sand seals remaining the faster option (and not requiring fuel of course) so as not to become obsolete. I also think that the terrain of death mountain alone adds difficulty, so those both of those areas would remain slightly harder to navigate. Overall, I think they should be useable but with maybe with some difficulties built in. Not being given the option to use it in those areas feels a bit forced, whereas having players discover for themselves that other transportation methods are more efficient feels like a more natural way of going about that.
I think you really should be able to use the master cycle zero in these regions because you already got all the divine beasts because in order to get the master cycle zero you need to beat all the divine beasts so.... there's really no reason not to have it accessible in those regions
Here's most likely why the master cycle isn't allowed, it's treated like a horse. It can go where horses can and more or less the same where the horses can't go
i would want to be able to use the bike in the desert but it does kinda make sense that the bike cant go in death mountain because it would fry the bikes circuits wouldent it
Personally, I disagree with all the comments arguing that mcz is too op in the forbidden areas. Its already op everywhere! I think it had more to do with the physics engine flipping out in those regions that anything else. Or something tp do with how things are loaded. Like how in subnautica, if you manage to move too fast with your prawn suit you can find yourself on a patch of ocean floor that hasn’t loaded collisions yet and now you’re falling through the map! Its entirely possible that something in those regions messes with the cycle in some way, so it was just easier to block it in those areas
It's mainly for balancing purposes I would assume. If you can use the motorcycle in the desert, what's the point of sand seals anymore. I'm not so sure about death mountain though. Edit: I didn't watch the whole video and you basically said the same thing :P
Probably because it would make part of the urbosa divine beast quest(using sand seals) useless and not make sense and also it could be too hot/cold for the horses
I think the master cycle zero should be usable in both places because you get it so late in the game. It is made of the same material as shirens so it should be able to withstand the heat of both places at least.

There should be like a side quest you can only get after taking back naboris that allows you to have it
I think the MCZ should be allowed in the desert and Death Mt. because, like, you get it later in the game. You FIRST have to actually get the MCZ, so without it there would still be a great experience of hiking through the sand on foot . When you’re actually OP , THEN you get the cycle…! Therefore I think it should be allowed in the desert… but still not in Death Mt. *Also plz pin me*.
yeah i think if we were able to use the mastercycle in the desert or death mountain it would ruin the experience
Master cycle zero needs a radio station update too.😅😂
Okay, but that doesn't seem like a very valid reason when you consider that, by the time you get the bike, you've probably explored the map and done nearly everything. The entire point of the thing is to explore Hyrule in a new way and just have dumb fun with it. The desert seems like the perfect area to use it, so restricting it there specifically seems pretty stupid to me.
I see it as if you can use the ancient saddle to summon your horse then the master cycle will be allowed
Riding on the sand dunes with the dirt bike is just too cool.
I think they might have disabled the master cycle in the desert because it is probably faster than the moldugas, making all the fights much easier. I dont exactly know why In death mountain it happens, but it could be due to the numb terrain, and the amount of glitches that can be pulled off by glitching into the rocks
Although, put that all aside, I do agree that gerudo desert would be insanely fun to drive around in.
Gg for 10k !!!!!!🎉🎊🎉
As cool as it is.
But I understand why you can't use the MCZ in both regions.
As you say in the video, it would be much easier in the desert. Also, the sand robes would be useless then, too.
And using it on Death Mountain would be suicidal.
I would have fun anyway. Nintendo could have given you the option to use it there after freeing both titans.
I also think it's a pity that you can't go into the desert by horse. Ganondorf also has a horse and can cross the desert.
(In OOT at least).
The Egyptians also had war horses in the desert.
But yes, the trip would be a lot different if we could travel there by horse or MCZ.
congrats on 10k subs
Thank you!
I think master cycle zero should be allowed in all regions because it would make traveling those regions a lot more easier and a lot more fun and it would make it a lot more worth it to get the master cycle zero.
I wish it was made available in these areas after completing their Divine Beasts.
I think the reason you cant pull out the mcz in gerudo is that there already a mode of transportation the sand seal (idk what its called) and the reason for not being able to pull it out in eldin is because its a literal volcano its not really a good placw to use the mastercycle
Can you also do this with a horse?
The master cycle should be able to go anywhere because you do so much stuff to get it then realize you can ride around the desert and jumping of the sand dunes
Yeah it would be rly great to have the master cycle zero in the desert
The desert would be a very cool terrain to use the cycle on
Gerudo Desert is one thing, but I don't think this video properly shows just how poorly the Master Cycle handles in Death Mountain.
CONGRATS ON 10K! :DDDD
Thank you!
It can go where horses can and more or less the same where the horses can't go
You would have to use a diamond to ride in those two areas are because it’s very rare and it would last A certain mount of time
Yeah, that’s like the perfect place. You would want to ride it out in the open without any trees and mountains in your way
i would want to be able to use the bike in the desert but it does kinda make sense that the bike cant go in death mountain because it would fry the bikes circuits wouldent it
Well in the sequel I'm sure they will allow it in all regions
Now I know why the dlc was only 19.99
You are my favorite Zelda youtuber
Never took link for an off-road bike racer... xD
Maybe if you like went to purdah you could get different tyre upgrades would be cool and then it also makes sense
id say gerudo because of how much space there is to walk around in.
ii think it should be usable in the desert because it would be so much fun
You got new subscriber :)
It's mainly for balancing purposes I would assume. If you can use the motorcycle in the desert, what's the point of sand seals anymore. I'm not so sure about death mountain though.
Edit: I didn't watch the whole video and you basically said the same thing :P
Going anywhere with master cycle is part of the fun, glad it so easy using patch in cemu lol
maybe the game could give you the abylity to ride in theese areas after certain hours if playing( like 80 or 100)
You only get the master cycle after exploring all 4 regional divine beasts quests
but another thing is nintendo should update the game to make it let us ride it in the desert when we beat the game or atleast the desert
My guess is that it's unintentional and it's just hit by the same flag that prevents horses from going to those places.
Probably because it would make part of the urbosa divine beast quest(using sand seals) useless and not make sense and also it could be too hot/cold for the horses
This Is A Good Video Btw I have trouble getting BOTW On PC to use mods
yeah it took me many hours to figure it out
