Alejandro Yánez everyone reading these comments literally has to be listening to this. But tbh I was sooo late to fall in love w this album. I was pretty much a a joyland virgin a week ago!
I discovered TR/ST in the summer of 2020 when most things were locked down and it felt like the world was ending. A few buddies and I had decided to defy lockdown recommendations and spent the day on a lake in rural Virginia. I was driving on 95 North heading back home when Bulbform came on my car's random playlist. I've fallen in love with so many of their songs since then.
"I'm getting used to the loneliest of sounds" The peaceful melancholy of this song really gets me every time. It's amazing how apparently meaningless lyrics (or at least lyrics without a clear unambiguous meaning) can combine with the deep and resonating melody and singing to create a profoundly relatable music. It's as if the gaps in meaning left in the text provided just enough space for the listener to project his own feelings guided by the atmosphere of the sounds. The strength of Robert Alfons' text is its ability to talk about experiences that normally lie beyond the scope of language.
Olivier Couture-Bienvenue so well defined. I love this song, and feel it resonates hugely, yet no idea what it's about. Yet I know EXACTLY what feeling it evokes. If that makes sense. Beautiful.
TR/ST is my favorite artist of all time. Have been listening to him since 2014 when ‘Joyland’ came out and changed my life! He’s. legend for sure.. especially here, watching his lips sing words but still not know 100% exactly what he’s saying 😹😹
While lot of electronic singers are used to sing whispering, this one makes the difference with his deep voice, creating a dark atmosphere, telling melancholic tales, fixing them in people memory. It works good. An original way to be known as a good singer.
#lyrics Are we Arc? Brace yourself They comin' for you Second breаth Anywhere you're tuning in I'll do my best to harbor it And you've seen some high?? I'm incarcerate I'm happy to be kicking it You ride breezing on the fire We taste the mercy doubt?? I'm getting used to the loneliest of sounds The voltage running might be Your joy personified You've fallen inward (oh) while I'm hoping heights of heights And hoping heights of high Love for you My forehead to my big toe/to my bed to womb/wound? And this mess I'm in I'll trade it for a second skin And you've seen some high? And there you punctured it It's gone and left a kink in me You ride breezing on the fire? We taste the mercy doubt I'm getting used to the loneliest of sounds The voltage running might be Your joy personified You've fallen inward (oh) while I'm hoping heights of heights And hoping heights of high Louse on me (lasso me) Louse to my feet (lost in my feet/fear) Louse on me (lasso me) Some speck underneath Louse on me
Es impresionante como esta canción me produce una melancolía tremenda, la escuché bajo el efecto de las drogas en un bus andando por localidades autrales, ver la cordillera, el atardecer y escuchar esto me hicieron Volar (literalmente).
Breathing all the fire, you chase the mercy down, I’m getting used to the loneliest of sounds. The Voltage running mighty, your joy personified, you’ve fallen inwards all while hopping heights of heights.
+Leonardo Ortellado no, that excerpt was included in an interview somewhere and I wanted to write it down to remember. Robert is really doing it Elizabeth Fraser style. I feel like there is certainly a personal mythology which runs through his lyrics, but then he leaves room for you to hear what you want to hear and add your own y'know? You may want to read Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson, as Robert said it was a major source of inspiration for this album. I think some of the lyrics/song names/feelings made more sense after reading.
:) Pretty close, but: You ride brazen on the fire, we chase the mercy down, I’m getting used to the loneliest of sounds. The voltage running mightily Your joy personified You’ve fallen inward all while hopping heights of heights, and hoping heights of high.
this was the song that I last listened to before I had to sacrifice my loved dog because of a very unexpected cancer. I love him. still. I adopted him, I tecahed him how to live and enjoy the sun, the light, the outdoors, he was an adult male in a puppy mill in Italy, all his sons were murdered in pharmaceutical labs while practicing experiments for new medicines and cosmetics for our ego and vanity, they were all innocents, did no harm to anyone, my adopted son lived in a cage the first 3/4 years of his life, he did not know how to walk the stairs nor run in the garden, he was afraid of every single noise, he didn't eat, he didn't make eye contact, he didn't TRUST me. I changed his life and he changed mine, he was a sensitive and intelligent being, an angel, a pure soul made of energy and light, yet his kind is used and abused as an object only to put the label "dermatologically tested" on cosmetics and similar skin care products, he was intelligent, loving, curious and after some months gave me all his trust and love. This song, I know is just a coincidence, but remains on my brain because of my adopted son. rest in a better place Tango, I still love you and I will join you no matter where. Thank you for your unconditional love.
Perhaps the lyrics go: They’re coming for you, save your breath (or search your brain)… and You seemed so mine… we chase the mercy down… hopping heights of heights… my forehead to my bitter wound… last of me, last of my fear, some spark underneath.
Does anyone still listen to this?, because I am still in love... Absolutely.

It reminds me so much of a very special person to me that he's no longer in this world. I miss you...

I could watch this forever just to generate money on ads for You Robert.

BR curtindo TRUST ?
Num to acreditando nisso
