Lockpicking 100
Wheres the link I can't find it 😭
check out lockpicking101 its a great resource for all lockpicking if you get deeper into it
No link for the stuff mentioned in video...
Found the link but there's a problem. Those are tweezers
lol yeah those are tweezers. Thats funny...
They sell lockpicking kits all over though.
Here is a good place

Thanks my little brother wanted a new bike for his birthday
Oh god
lmao
Lmao
Riley Gould lol
Update- he loved his new bike ;)
I love how I sat here for 14 minutes watching him pick locks
SamN GamN the man is a genius. He’s shit at lockpicking.. and still I enjoyed every second.
If you like watching lockpicking videos look for BosnianBill or LockPickingLawyer on YT. You can watch them pick locks for HOURS. And not just these shitty master locks. REAL locks.
And he love sat thre making a yt video and pick locks alone for a hourss
He could edit his videos underneath 10 minutes but he wont make any money. Soon as he passes 10 mins he get the ad money. Boom. Its the only way he keeps being able to bring the lovely content
@@prodrywallservice really agreee
the lockpicking lawyer has taught me too well to take him seriously when he said the masterlock is very difficult
That's what I was thinking lol...
Any LockPickingLawyer fans burst out laughing when the shot freeze-framed on the Master lock and he said "very difficult"?
Yes! love how master locks pride themselves in "high security" and can be opened with a piece of plastic lol
I agree lol, I chuckled a bit
Im not alone!
* Proceeds to do either the spy, medic, or demoman Schadenfreude. *
He's never done it before. Obviously to him it's gonna be difficult
The fact that someone with no experience can pick all these locks is scary
Now imagine someone experienced with some decent tools, Infront of your house when you're on holiday. 😉
Me too
Nonmagnetic locks might as well have bot been there for quiet some centuries. They are more of a warning than a deterrent.
Master locks are hot garbage dont use them
And now you can look up Lockpicking Lawyer. Who finds 20-30 seconds pick time at a leisurly pace a "good fight" from the lock. His income, mind you, is greater than he'd make if he picked for thieving.
That beginner lock is deceiving for how easy lock picking is. I have that one. All the pins are the same height. You can stick a paperclip in there and lift up with a little tension and it pops open. lol
Capp00 the one I have, all you have to do is push up the last pin and it opens 😂
Cool stumbling across Capp00 here. 👍
@@Moorgoth67 Howdy!! :)
My one you actually have to try it but they are way easier
Depends on the type you buy. The beginner clear locks have basic pins but the more intricate one have pins that you can adjust to increase or lower the difficulty.
The fact that you picked all 5 locks with no prior experience scares me a bit 😂
Actually most locks that people use are trash. Especially Master locks. Not a bad choice for beginning lockpicking but they really are not anything you want to use to secure whatever items of value.
For sure! I’m a lockpicker and master is terrible to keep your stuff safe but it’s what most ppl use... max you would really be scared if you saw what we pick for fun.. click on my name to see locks I’ve picked on camera. Or go to r/lockpicking subreddit. You will buy new locks I’m sure.
Locks only keep honest people out, unfortunately.
@@asagorcus My sister once had a master lock on a storage unit that she lost the key to. Made a tension wrench from a jigsaw blade and used half a hairpin to pop that bad boy open.
@@DrakonIL Yeah its not unusual. I saw a youtube clip where someone opened one with a McDonald's Straw! 🤣
'Going from easy to very difficult' *shows Masterlock as last lock* Lockpickers: 'AHAHAHAHAHAHA' :D
Even started with ABUS, luggage junk, but still.
Philip Eatherington exactly the master is the easeyest
I thought that they were like medium level in lock picking but they were big so somebody couldn’t break through it
The fact that he also used some stupid tools and didn’t even use a hook got me mad too.
Thanks just got my first felony.
I got my second
“I have to loosen the tension to get my rod in there” 😂
Really good job for a total beginner, but you should know that these locks are new and unused so it's so much easier to unlock them.. If you want to do some real challange, try to find and unlock some old rusty locks. That's really hard and challanging and it's also more realistic.. :D
Oh geez, good to know!
Spray some Liquid Wrench in there.
Zdareeec
Old locks? Hammertime!
I find old locks easier to pick cuz often the pins get stuck in proper place rather than moving freely. Just my limited experience though have only successfully opened 10-11 padlocks so far
I couldn’t help but laugh when he put the tensioner in the warded lock 😂 great video still. Love seeing people try lockpicking.
The thing that you pulled out around 8:20 is for car locks or double-sided locks in general. The lock with the blue band around the bottom and the weird-looking key appears to be a disc-detainer lock. Basically, the discs need to each be rotated into a specific position relative to one another in order for the lock to open. Since the key's cuttings are all equal depth, you just needed something that could reach through the warding (tabs of metal between each disc that prevent you from turning all the discs with a screwdriver and reverse-picking the lock), and that rake fit the lock well enough to do the job.
Chris : So we start from easy to difficult....
Me: I see a Master lock at the end....
Wow... best surprise of my whole day. The game that I love so much and play with my friends every week (for the last 15 years) is sponsoring the video of a guy that I enjoy watching a lot! THAT made my day... Thanks Wizards and Chris!
André Valente you’re a virgin aren’t you..
No, not really.
You know something is going to happen when suddenly music stops
yea
Yyyearaeaeahhhhh
When you finaly get lockpicking 100 without cheating in SKYRIM
I actually reached it without cheating in Skyrim. It took me some time.. Edit: and i'm not going to make it legendary lol
Yeaa me too
i just took the key from the the guild and never gave it bsck
Yeah its a good feeling
Ha! I definitely clicked on this video because of Skyrim.
Basically raked all five locks open, the brute force method. You should try going pin by pin, utilizing the tactile feedback from the pins
Locksmith here, Very well done! you talk about how accessible lock picks are, if you get pulled over at least in USA and have the pick set in your car and are not a locksmith bad news. Besides that you did great couple little things, as I know you like learning - it's all preference as to tension and what picks you use. However some work better in some situations. Padlocks are a bit of a different experience than door locks. If you can find a simple hook pick in that set, my all time favorite and universal pick. Sometimes heavy tension is nice if you have a strong pick and slowly push the pin up you can feel the *click*. Also it's the valleys on the key not the peaks that matter. Just a heads up. but over all well done! Huge fan!
The concept of this video is so sick. Taking an amazing sponsor and relating to the subject of the video.
This is why you rock Chris 🔥
Now the thieves of your lgs can go to your home and steal your expensive cards.
If you are interested in learning and improving your lockpicking skills I can't recommend BosniaBill and LockPickingLawyer enough. They are great youtubers such as yourself!
edit: a word
What the hell I swear youtube must slowly be suggesting certain videos to people because I just recently got back into the locksport hobby. Also "very difficult" when talking about master lock should never be in the same sentence. Unless its
"master locks are not very difficult." You should pick up the revolver from sparrows, and a few abus padlocks from amazon. Also go get some decent picks. Sparrows makes good stuff, Southord, Peterson, and Dangerfield are all great. I recommend the Dangerfield Serenity or the Southord PXS-14 over anything from amazon. The steel they use is much better. AT THE VERY LEAST get a peterson gem and hook #1 also some more tension wrenches wouldn't hurt.
Cunningham's law - "the best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer."
Oddly enough that was covered in a lock picking video released this morning by bosnianbill.
x9x9x9x9x9 Have you picked a Master 527, 911, or 410 LOTO? Master does make some OKish locks. Dont believe everything you hear from the tribe...
@@user54389 I have not done those but so far every master lock I have tried has been pretty bad. I do want to try a 527 at some point and I think it was a 510(?) That has spools in it that I want to try.
Bill is a god
Too bad he never showed his face
Could be a hot 19 years old chick...
@@x9x9x9x9x9 You are probably thinking of the 410 LOTO. Its a fun pick...
@@user54389 I'll give it a shot then.
Might be a bit late telling you Chris... here is a tip. Most important thing to note is that tension is everything. Notice the leverage of tension you put on a tumbler. The last one you accidentally were using half the wrench thus easing up the tension... unlike when you first started trying it... if you're going to use the whole length of the wrench... way less pressure. I use the technique you found.. put 1 finger on half the wrench. Another great way to figure out what is too much is use a paper clip bent at tip to insert into tumbler, the tension used to find the sweet spot should not bend the paperclip. It's very light pressure. Great video and props for accomplishing the picks.
My hubby got me into Magic and I've been OBSESSED for 4 years now. It's literally our go to date night game. I love everything about it. I'm geeking out as well 😂
I want to hear the sponsor pitch that went on at WotC. "so there's this guy that does magic videos but he does more than that" "you mean he plays other card games than Magic?" "uuuuhhhh no? he dose like, puzzles and stuff as well as do magic, sometimes in the same video" "ooh a puzzle solving Magic youtuber, sounds great send him an offer"
I am a lock picker. Hence the name. Lol.. I have a channel but havnt post in a while. Just so you know it’s called a tension wrench. Your doing good so far, if you wanna keep learning more about lockpicking, and pick some harder locks go to r/lockpicking on Reddit. I used to be a mod there and there’s good ppl there.
OMG, I was getting triggered every time he said "tension rod" lol. It's like fingernails on a blackboard for me. I mean, it's not that big a deal, but damn lol. All that being said, he did a pretty good job as a cold beginner.
Also....that first technique is called raking
He says he is a lockpick master I would like to see him try a double spring, serrated pin type lock with fault sets lol. Plus he called the rakes this guy with a bit more teeth. Oh wait I want to see him pick a dimple with standard horizontal pins with advanced mechanisms I mentioned earlier
And did he call tweezers a tension picker?
Awesome Wrecker I think what your talking about is a wafer rake. They are made for car locks. You put em in and jiggle. Also called jigglers.
The number six you took.. is either a half Diamond.. which is a raking tool.. or an extractor.
Half Diamonds do more than rake. That looked more like a weird half ball though
All except the first pick he gave up on using are used for raking. Technically he racked them, not pick
Raking is where you slide a pick with ridges along it across the pin, hoping to set the pins into their unlock position quickly. This is considered a more beginner technique because it doesn't require much skill or feel for the pins. Picking, on the other hand, is where a pick is inserted into the lock and each individual pin is felt and then the pins are pushed one by one into the correct position.
Saimeren hey man, so if you want a more in depth explanation look up the art of lock picking. Very lengthy but descriptive and helpful. I also watch a lot of the lockpickinglawyer videos and he is fast but has explanation videos too
Saimeren it has too much junk in it. Tentioners.. great.. the shiny gold has to be sanded off.. better get a cheap set from Sparrows than the chinesium.

I like how finding this video is pretty full circle for me. I occasionally watched chris's cardistry videos and thought"hey that would be cool to learn. I have tons of magic cards in my room." Then I thought about it and it might make me look more questionable especially if I learned something like a double lift. Here is chris talking about magic card. XD I might have to revisit my decision to not learn cardistry (also magic) type stuff.
Also love how he had me at warded lock. Thinking "hah! That's a warded lock gl raking that! Lol" and he proceeds to pick it.
Gj Chris love your vids and MTG
The subtext is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!! My library has an annual comic convention. Game Kastle was there. They sold Magic cards. And they taught people how to play. Mike's channel is lit.

Lockpicking lawyer would be disappointed
This guy is an amateur the first lock I picked was a master model 3.it was easy
True
So would be bosnianbill and locknoob. BUT!!! maybe they would appreciate the effort of a noobie =)
I think the fact that he used a z bar instead of an actual bottom of the keyway wrench he deserves mad props. And the fact that he got the warded lock open by happenstance. Pretty sick.
elias meinhart this man is a magician not a lock picking expert

Just like in Dungeons & Dragons®
Which is just another of Wizards of the Coast (LLC)'s *_amazing_* products!
lol
Good job picking these locks! If you get further into the lockpicking community, these locks would be considered really easy. Some of the hardest locks have more than 90 degree angles plus pins that go inside the barrel itself! It makes you wonder how you could even get a key into it, but it actually does work.
Chris: Uses Rake and it works extremely well.
Also Chris: Lets go back to the thing that didn’t work as well. 🤣
When you tell someone you play Magic:
"Oh show me a trick!"
Bolt cutters do the same thing just more efficiently
But they're more obvious and bulky. Alot harder to hide

Yeah imma bolt cut a door open real quick
crazyshotgunner and you don’t feel as cool

When lockpicking, there is never a KEY to examine to help figure it out. That would render the entire process moot :p
I said the exact same thing, dude. Totally defeats the purpose.
@@kylepirko9251 Lets sey that the,, thief '' has seen the key
Hate to disappoint you guys, but theives don't pick locks; locksmiths and locksporters pick locks
pick enough locks you can tell how a lock needs to be picked without seeing a key.
Locks are made to keep honest people honest.
Great Chris... I love Magic the Gathering. Albo Dimir house is my favorite faction. I hope that someday we will fight in Mtg Arena. I was wondering for years what to do with this whole pile of Commons that occupies my wardrobe, desk, cabinets and shelves ... I throw them !!! as part of training. with all due respect to Wizards of the coast, the unique cards are in double-sleeves. Thx.
The fact that you did that pretty easily with no prior experience in lock picking kinda shows how easy it is to pick locks
TIP2:
The rake is the one with a bunch of bumbs its made for beginners so it makes it more easier to pick the lock and the pic with one bumb is for when you get more good at picking locks
I have that same pick set, now I'm geeking out
It's a pretty crappy set tbh... Try sparrows, Peterson or multipick, you'll be *amazed* at the difference in material quality
1:29
"from easy..." shows an Abus
"... to very difficult..." shows a Master lock
Ok then lmao
The God-Emperor Of Mankind when he said that I knew he hasn’t picked locks before
To be fair, the Abus was a Nautic 20mm (3 standard pins), and the master was a 3DEX (4 standard pins and Master's famous engineering)...neither of which are difficult.
It is interesting how people think master locks are good. Before i got into lockpicking that's exactly what I bought to learn on thinking they were challenging. Now I really cannot fathom using one to secure anything. Same thing with brinks locks.
They have their purposes. The laminated style locks are brutes and can take a lot of abuse. Most thieves don't pick locks ;)
Yeah I get that. But personally I just can't use them myself hahaha
welcome to the lock picking/locksport community! check out warded locks- that’s the type of lock the third one you opened was.
if you want to level up your lock picking skills even more, check out dimple locks. the guild never had to deal with those!
keep picking, the more you do it, the easier it is!
Probably been said but the 'laminated' lock, the one that just span with the weird grooves in the key is a warded lock and doesnt have pins. The slots in the key let it turn through metal shelves (wards) inside and the mechanism is actuated only by the tip of the key turning. You can skip past all the shelves and rotate it like you did through trail and error with anything slightly hook shaped. Still impressed you got it how you did though.
Also to echo what everyone else has likely said, there are two rules. 1) don't pick locks you don't own, 2) don't pick locks you rely on. It's surprisingly easy to break a lock making everything way worse, even with experience. There are lots of different types of lock! Pin tumbler, wafer, disc detainer, lever, dimple, warded etc.
Watching BosnianBill and then this is a trip 😂😅🤦
Deshaun W. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ya think
Hahah facts
yup....would be interesting to see BosnianBill and LPL do a reaction video to this one LOL....
@@artstrutzenberg7197 I'm sure they would be pleased at the interest in lockpicking if a little amused at calling the master lock the hardest one

Shut up begga
Go see what BosnianBill thinks of Master locks... Or Lockpicking Lawyer for that matter.
I won the kit you're using at LockNoob's channel, so there's him mentioned as well.
Ola Magnus Lie what is the kit because the link isn’t working for me
Also that saw thing used at 12:00 is called an L rake/city rake your supposed to move the rake up and down in the keyhole while slowly moving it either forwards to backwards hence the different bidding cut into the metal it lifts the pins to either position 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 etc
I have that exact same kit. It's nice. I almost exclusively use the #6 hook, to manipulate the pins one at a time (rakes never seem to work for me, except for MasterLocks).
Now to learn how to break into my own car...
I've found that when I try to pick, I usually put too much tension on the wrench, which locks up the pins into a bad position. I also find that I can feel the pins click over better, when I am using just the right amount of pressure. It also seems to allow the barrel to turn a fraction of an inch every time I get another pin in place, but that depends on the lock.
no this is about lockpicking 50 you only get 100 if you can do it with only a bobby pin.
miguel figueroa fallout style ma dud
It's actually pretty easy
I can actually pick a master lock with two Bobby pins😂
Yeah that’s fair

The fourth pick you chose is related to the City Rake. Master lock's nemesis.
I have been picking for a day and I can rake my number 3 open with little to no effort.

Chris Ramsay is the man! I’ve taken all of Chris’s advices, and I’ve learned every sleight of hand move he teaches. He also inspired me to make a UA-cam channel where I show magic tricks. I would love some support/feedback so I can become a better magician.
Advertising yourself on someone else's channel is extremely not-cool
You know that when the music stops, he’s about to solve something.
I love how he said the master lock was the hardest😂😂
If he hadn’t accidentally bypassed the second lock, it would have put up a much better fight, especially considering the size of the key way on that Abus.
I guess this just goes to show how little the general population of people actually understand about lock picking. I’m not claiming to be an expert by any means, it’s just intriguing.
Harry Potter, MTG, Magic... You are like the coolest person out there
Congrats Chris! When I was a kid my grandfather also taught me how to pick some of these! ;)
This video is really fun! 💖✨
lock 3 was a warded lock... how u opened it the way you did. [lol] they make bypass tools for those... skeleton keys. but hey, whatever works!

You could also point out that picking one of these locks in situe is much harder than holding it in your hand or that all 5 locks are just pin tumblers with no security pins or anything. Again though, good job for a first time locker picker, very impressive

after watching 1000+ hours of lockpicking videos from BosnianBill, Watching chris opening (With Difficlty) some MasterLocks (the most UNSAFE locks ever), is veeeeery cringing xD
*Brynjolf wants to know your location*
Lockpicking 200, only using the hook tool. no raking for the rest. Raking is the easiest way to pick locks because its just randomly pushing the pins up. Hooking is a lot harder, especially when there are some of the anti picking tools where pins get reset if picked out of order. Its addictive. I did this all the time, now im starting with card tricks thanks to your channel.
Side note, lock picking sets are not illegal in the US (for all the US viewers), unless you are caught by the cops committing a crime.
Oblivion and Skyrim! Loved those games!
your title is wrong, it should be "i learned how to be a robber"
lol no hate :)

this planless picking fondling was extremely painful as compared to lockpickinglawyer's preciseness.
Yeah but i didnt expect him to do well considering that its his first time and im not sure if he dis any research on how to do this
His first time you fuck.
I've been lock picking for about a year now. Its interest to watch a new lock picker. Not to be mean because I didn't expect anyone that doesn't know much about locks to know but the lock with the funny key isn't a pin tumbler lock, so there's no pins to pick. it's called a warded lock ( you can find a good example on how they work online ) and I'm kinda surprised you opened it because you use different tools to open them just like any different kind of lock. And the master lock at the end is one of the most common locks around where I live in nova scotia, you can open them with just about anything that will fit inside and turn the core. I've even opened one with two zip ties😂 (one as a pick one as a tension wrench) BTW if you are intrested in lurning more, windshield whipper inserts and a file can make a better quality lockpick then the ones you were using.
Love Magic, and magic and gave been picking locks for a year now; subbed!
Great box, mine had an Ultimate Deck from Stranger & Stranger, and a bunch of other cool stuff.
Some quick tips from an advanced picker: The lock with the blue band and the key with crazy teeth isn't a pin tumbler lock at all, it's called a warded lock. This can be easily opened with a ring of 'warded lock keys' which you can buy for under $10. Just watch when you're manipulating the lock, don't twist the pick like a key, only use an 'up and down' motion , picks can be snapped and bent otherwise. Well done otherwise, you picked some more advanced locks there containing 'spool' shaped pins.
I cant believed you just flourished an unsleeved doom whisperer and a chromatic lantern
I have to play Skyrim for 20 hours for me to get 100 Lockpicking, Chris gets there in real life in just a few hours.
I like you Chris. I watch all your magic stuff and think how cool it would be to do that stuff so clean like you do. So don't take this the wrong way. None of those locks are locks. They're basically subtle suggestions that you aren't supposed to open the thing that they are attached to. I actually (actually!), and I'm not proud of this, shot a little nasty out my nose when you had a Master lock at the "hard" end of that stack. I know, you're thinking, "but this was the first time I ever picked a lock." Still too easy. I've had small children picking harder locks for their first. You can literally, as you did, accidentally pick those.
All that said, I found this because I was going to suggest you start playing with lock picking. I thought it would be a hobby right up your alley. Do more of it. Shoot video of that. Put it on youtube. I think you could be a youtuber bro, really.
