This video is a perfect example of why those of us who are poor have to eat what we can and not worry too much about what is in the food. There are so many who judge and wag their fingers at us saying we need to eat healthy. Actually, we need to think about feeding our families first l. Making sure we have enough. I very much prefer to eat healthy and was super grateful to be able to get some healthy things the last time I went grocery shopping just the other day. However the couple pieces of fresh produce I got are already going bad. Which is why I don't usually get any along with the price. Processed foods are way cheaper so we can buy enough to feed everyone in the house, and they last much longer😢

Southwest central VA here. No rain and high temps for weeks, but getting rain and it's a little cooler now. Cucumbers are coming in, but we're finding them to be more bitter than they should be. Had a lot of blossom end rot on tomatoes, but starting to get some decent ones now. Green beans slow; just picked the first handful yesterday. Peppers are slow. Corn was a lost cause this year. Watermelons are doing okay. Strawberries are smaller than usual. Zucchini and yellow squash have been producing for a few weeks, but lost a few to squash vine borers. Definitely not the best year for the garden, but with the crazy weather, we'll take what we can get out of it!

I am in Wetumka, OK, a rural town in southeast OK. You think over $7 for a watermelon is high? We have people coming through here selling larger watermelons (yellow, red meat) for $12 to $15 a piece. They also sell cantelope but don't know the exact price. This is not a rich town and they sell out every time they come. I sure can't afford them but they are sure selling them. I'm 70 years old and never thought I'd see a watermelon sell for that kind of price.
In your video last night I just knew the store you was talking about was going to be Walmart. Nice to know I was right once in my life. LoL 😆 Have a blessed day Danno and Jessica 😁
Good morning Danno and Jess. Thank you for sharing your trip to Walmart. Thank goodness it’s Summer and I can go to my local Farmers market for produce. Shocking prices. You are lucky to have the Keystone Turkey in your area of Ohio. None here. The Grandkids loved the limited edition Star Wars Oreos which were a treat for them. They did get the “Light “version as mystery for Light or Dark side 😂. Very pricey cookie Blessings to you All ❤
I always buy those French toast bites for my granddaughter and knew the price went up. I’m looking to start making them homemade and see about freezing them for the week 😊
I have spent a lot feeding. Grandkids this summer son is helping but. 300. U get nothing I’ve saved 2,000. At food lion in 7 months. And that nothing fancy I bake my own cookies and chocolate cobbler. For kids crazy
Have to keep being creative, stock up on sales that are good for the budget, keep carrots, celery, and poocorn for snacks, and a few treats. This is definitely a challenge every week. The garden is full of green tomatoes zucchini and cucumbers starting. Hope they do okay. Thankful for the spurts of rain.
Mac n cheese i am picky on and basicly only like Kraft. I see kraft is $1.24 where you are at. right now until Aug17 or 18 you can get an 18 count kraft at Sam's for $3 off making it only $11.96, only .66 a box, still more than the generic but not much more but almost half price over buying the regular kraft at $1.24 a box at walmart. i brought 2 cases when sam offered $5 off of it a while back making it around .55 each and just opened the second case not long ago so not sure if i will buy another case or not when i go in this month. They have good sales for us this month, stuff we usually get, like our cat litter is $3 off so we will probably pick up 3 of them even though we are down to our last house cat. We just opened our last litter and we brought that at a $3 discount too. others might not fin the sales good though, it all depends what you normally buy but any store is like that.
Walmart has its own DRY WHOLE MILK. I have not tried it yet, but people who want NIDO may try it. Walmart prices upset me on most items, except for some frozen foods and some canned vegetables.
Hereford meat products are halal which is a bonus for some of us who can’t buy all meat types at Walmart. If you go to Amazon, they have fast delivery and it is like $39.99 for a pack of 12, so it makes it like $3.33 a piece…. A hair cheaper than Walmart and Inuse it to stick my pantry
One of my local Walmart stores just put in the digital shelf labels across most of the store. They look nice, but there was a decent number of them that just said “no signal”, so therefore no price for the item that was behind it.
I just checked the yellow onion prices at my Walmart, here in middle NC, and $4.24 for a 3 pound bag. Ridiculous indeed. I find our local Food Lion has much better sales on their produce.
Chocolate mint chip , but Neapolitan serves us better. We have food lions now. As long as it says ice cream not a dairy dessert or confection. 😊 I put a couple tablespoons on my coffee as a treat its cool and warm.
I shop every friday for groceries. One of the store i shop at is walmart. I get milk from there cause they were the cheapest. Up to last friday, it was 2.86 a gallon. I was in there today for some random stuff and it is now 3.32 a gallon. But my local kroger is having a special for 2.99 a gallon, so...yeah
If anyone lives in the UP of Michigan, Jack's Supermarket, has a great sale on almost all Ore-Ida products....all of the reg. Size bags $3.99. Many General Mills family cereal also 3.99 a box. They have Everyday Essentials brand orange juice for $3 and frozen veggies for $1 a bag.
Walmart has become completely unaffordable on so many things now I barely go there for anything The only thing that they're still cheaper on is if you're going to buy the store branded toiletries like equate lotion body soap things of that nature other than that you're better off going to Kroger and using digital coupons on sale items.

@irisnunez5741 much better quality. Than Walmart. Walmart stuff spoils in a few days if it isn't ready half spoiled when you buy it. The saying You Get What you Pay really is true.
Good video I haven't been commenting much I've been watching you on the big TV
I am in Wetumka, OK, a rural town in southeast OK. You think over $7 for a watermelon is high? We have people coming through here selling larger watermelons (yellow, red meat) for $12 to $15 a piece. They also sell cantelope but don't know the exact price. This is not a rich town and they sell out every time they come. I sure can't afford them but they are sure selling them. I'm 70 years old and never thought I'd see a watermelon sell for that kind of price.
The jimmy dean breakfast bowls are actually cheaper buying the 8 count at Sam's club. The bowls would be $2.12 a piece
Your eggs are cheap in Cincinnati compared to anywhere in Arizona. Evidently they ship ours in from other galaxies.
Probably Mars! 😂😂😂
In your video last night I just knew the store you was talking about was going to be Walmart.
Nice to know I was right once in my life. LoL 😆
Have a blessed day Danno and Jessica 😁
Fruits are more expensive and sometimes no even good anymore 😏
Yes, the quality of fruits isn't good.
I only grew potatoes this year and after seeing the price I’m really glad that’s what I picked to plant 🫣
No homemade ice cream at my local walmarts where i live in Wi. Here we have Kemps that is made fairly close.
I've tried the great value dry milk and it's good. It tastes like fresh milk 🙂
Hi Danno! When you do price checks on fresh potatoes..could you also check the carrot and celery, too? Thanks!
Loose Russet was $1.87 lb yesterday
I am more & more shocked at the
Fast food
Prices
Which I dont get much of it BUT
WOW
Thank you Danno ❤️✝️
Hereford meat products are halal which is a bonus for some of us who can’t buy all meat types at Walmart. If you go to Amazon, they have fast delivery and it is like $39.99 for a pack of 12, so it makes it like $3.33 a piece…. A hair cheaper than Walmart and Inuse it to stick my pantry
80/20 hamburger has been over $4 here a long time so less than $4 sounds good to me.
I don't see how walmart survives nowadays! Too many folks paying attention to sales that they don't have.
I'm not worried about it. They will be in business for a long time.
Because all store have high prices cuz of inflaction
Walmart for now it's the cheapest but Inflation will hurt everyone
Eeww 73% beef even
No way
For $34?? Wow 😮
The protein powder went up $1 since last week; now it’s $20 for 9 servings😮
Ridiculous walmart!!!! hyvee has 5lb potatoes for 2.39. I better stock up looks like.
Need to correct potatoes are now $2.99 at hyvee for 5 lbs.
One of my local Walmart stores just put in the digital shelf labels across most of the store. They look nice, but there was a decent number of them that just said “no signal”, so therefore no price for the item that was behind it.
Really
I just checked the yellow onion prices at my Walmart, here in middle NC, and $4.24 for a 3 pound bag. Ridiculous indeed. I find our local Food Lion has much better sales on their produce.
Chocolate mint chip , but Neapolitan serves us better. We have food lions now. As long as it says ice cream not a dairy dessert or confection. 😊 I put a couple tablespoons on my coffee as a treat its cool and warm.
Mint Chip Great Value Ice Cream !
Just Walmart had planned all along they ran the small stores out and now jack up the prices!
Hey Danno!!! We get the Guy Feri flavortown sauces.....they are delicious on everything!!!!!!!!
yep, even on eggs!😃
Danno hows it going Buddy! Ty for the Wally world update I hate Wally world! But not many choices here! Back in 2008 I discovered GMO food I have to boys so I was pissed I was feeding them poison grrr. So that day we exchanged out all our gmo food for Organic food! We Immediately could taste the difference in all our home made food, oh and we never eat out NEVER! Ok ok so over the course of the next 4 months my weight went from 235lbs to 175lbs! What? That was my high school weight! Now I'm a Surgical Nurse so I was omg do I have Cancer No I feel great but jeez! It's now 2024 still Organic and I'm still 175lbs! I love you guys I hope you liked my story and if you know anyone struggling with the weight please tell my story I mean over 160 Countries have Banned our food! Theres a Great book out there called "Your Right To Know"
My local walmart has gone up 68% butter bread now $4.28 was $2.13 a loaf. Milk was $2.48, now $3.89 Tomato's went from $1.68 to $3.15 per pound. I can not afford meats a double price in past 2 weeks.
Prices went up, quality went down.
Houston metro. At my local Wolly World, Roma tomatoes have been 88 cents for months. Last trip couple of weeks ago, they were 98 cents.
Have you heard about brown rice shortages? None at Fred Meyer (Kroger store) or Walmart
I love Wally
For certain things
NOT meat
❤
ty for helping us👍👍😢😊😊
Sugar $1.87 to $2.12 in one jump.😮
I bought Chef Boy ar Dee ravioli and was blown away at how much liquid there was in a can and the flavor was not what it used to be. I'm getting very discouraged when it comes to buying food. I want some French fries but I flat out refuse to pay the outrageous price. The bread was very close to being totally wiped out and I will NOT pay over $3 for a loaf at my Family Fare in Michigan.I got extremely lucky and was able to find 2 cube steaks close dated today for $3.29 so I snagged them up and there's in the freezer. I did buy a family pack of boneless, skinless chicken breast for $2.49 a pound. I'm making a lot of soup these days, chicken with rice and celery, carrots and onions. It's really good tho . I'm freezing to some as well
Everything is going up. I guess the best thing to do is use coupons and check out sales when you can.
If you don't mind just chicken ricearoni then you can get a 6 pack for $5.98 at Sam's making it less than a buck a box
u r 100% correct.not going to wallys anymore.
Ok I just checked out our Walmart Flyer in Ontario CANADA and the prices are good. Yes I see where a few things have significantly increased in price and I will not be buying those. Eg. Half and half 2@$7.00. Usually $2.99 a piece. There were some other items and I will just pass. Regarding meat if you can find a Butcher where you live go that route or do a frozen food order at the Butchers. If you have meat and chicken covered then you can get by I think. I mean grill some chicken and for pennies make a salad fresh from your garden.
Today I received from our Government local government how much food prices have gone up in the last year And I wiLl Share it with your viewers.
Beef up 30 percent..eggs up 38 percent..butter up 45 percent...tomatoes up 63 percent...potatoes up 60 percent...rice up 30 percent..apples up 39 percent...lettuce up 48 percent..chicken up 34 percent...milk 25 percent increase..pork 12 percent increase...pasta up 24 percent..fish up 28 percent..baby food up 26 percent..baby formula up 27 percent..snacks and crisps up 24 percent. Food prices are expected to keep on rising. It's outrageous and once you climb out of the food category there is gasoline..insurance etc.etc.
Time to sell the second car and rent a car when necessary..time to staycation..time to eat at home..time to save something anything like you have never saved before.
This is the increase in prices in the last nine years.
grapes $4.19 a lb here, tomatoes $5.49 a lb, potatoe bag here are over $30
i used to buy asparagus all the time for almost every meal. It used to be $.198. A few months later its almost $3.30.
Good morning Danno
Hey Dano, keep an eye on what's going on in China with all the floods.
Hey, 81 million, so we are told.
GM ☕️
My husband and I like the jerky from Buc-ee's It is very tasty and tender. It isn't tough like other jerky.
Not sure where you're at but where I'm at inflation's cooled off.. I do believe it varies state to state.. basically it depends on where you're at in the country.
Prices haven't cooled off
@@annjames1837 no.. prices will never come down it's permanent .. what I meant was prices are staying where they're at and not going up where I'm at anyway I'm not sure about other states.
I live in Michigan. Every time I go shopping it's more money. Don't get me started on gasoline and utilities and insurance.😱
Inflation hasn't cooled down in NE Ohio yet. It's still red hot.
I usually only buy store brand and even doing that it still cost's me 5 time's more than it did a year ago
My favorite Rice A Roni is the beef. I haven't been able to find the beef flavor in over a year anywhere. I wonder if they still even make it anymore.
Same here on the beef being my favorite. But they priced themselves out of what I've been willing to pay for it years ago. Might only buy it once in a blue moon when it's on sale.
I am more & more shocked at the
Fast food
Places
Which I dont get much of it BUT
WOW
If you are buying that junk, quit p n ming about the price. Save-A-Lot pork chops, $1.99#. Pack of 7 for $7.22, So $1.03 each. enough for a week.
I know that people are not buying hamburger helper, because they can't afford the hamburger meat. 😢. Milwaukee Wisconsin 😍 love ❤️ your videos.
Didn't they shrink the box,too?
@@bethyeary8995yes.
People need to make the homemade version. Much healthier. You can sub chopped up mushrooms for meat substitute.
It's decent to eat without meat at times I do.
Thanks Danno I don’t buy vegetables there anymore there never good❤
Hi from Canada. I forgot to mention that all the increases in food were since 2015.
Kroger is having a great sale starting 7/24 , but you probably know that
😊
i have been saying for YEARS that our walmart in northwest ohio has terrible produce since the day they ioened up tge store many many years ago ! but tgese prices are terrible and until we stop buying stuff and supporting this they are not going down.
22:35 most people use the great value equal to the left of it for half the price.
Never shopping at Walmart. I canceled my membership too.
MacCormick spices recalled for metal traces
Publix in SC 7.98 a pound for the dark red cherries-insane. I refuse to pay 93 cents for 1 lemon. For what it costs to go to chic-fil-a,I can buy chicken, potatoes( cut myself) and dessert to feed us
I went to Walmart today and they have replaced the $4.68 watermelons, with a different variety, for $6.98. So, I didn't buy a watermelon, even though that was the main reason for my visit. Other stores have them, for around the same price or less.
The liberal and liberal media would have you believe prices are coming down .
BS. Inflation is easing. That is not prices going down.
