    I feel people are taking the wrong message of this. It's not that any character can cook. But simply the fact that people don't take much time to learn matchups of less used characters, which can cause a greater gap in player skill and matchup.

      There are a lot of factors that go into who wins a tournament. Another important point is that he got to fight Leo twice, who is the one top tier that isn't a particularly bad matchup for Pot.

    • @devilcwesker5980
      @devilcwesker5980 Рік тому

      @@AMnotQ it was more to represent how some tools of some characters like leo's dp, is consider a huge part of their game plan and carries the character and person playing them.
      things that top tiers can do and arent exclusive to top pro players skill. Which begs the question on their actual skill when ever they comment things like "any one can cook or you can win with any character"
      do they truly know the match ups? do they actually believe they are as good as they claim to be? If so the question to arise is, can you win as pot.
      digging a little further and you start learning about how pot's frame data works youll realize alot ends with knowledge checks rather then actual tools.
      you end with the conclusion that you need a far greater understanding of your opponet's character rather then using simple defensive tools that your character has.
      in conclusion the few top players who took time to actually study and practice to work on their fundamentals like mochii over shine players who arent willing to learn how it feels to play the game with such oppressive tools of their own mains.
      this isnt to call out sajam, as I'm sure being a commentator, he has had the time to learn quite a lot about every character in order to become this awesome commentator for strive.

    What is gold burst?

    • @kaladinstormblessed8790
      @kaladinstormblessed8790 Рік тому +1

      When you use psych burst (the thing they use to break out of combos) when you aren’t stuck in a combo and it hits you get 100% tension gauge. The particles and effect are also swapped from blue to gold. Hence why it’s called “gold burst”

    • @95PTorres

      @@kaladinstormblessed8790 thank you. Is it a viable tactic?

    • @krowe5911
      @krowe5911 Рік тому +1

      Specifically, gold burst is when you use psych burst in a neutral state (Using burst while blocking an attack causes a blue burst just like getting hit) 100% meter gives a massive advantage, especially for characters with a quick gap closer to RC and force a mixup. It is certainly useful in specific scenarios, but overall its use cases are for more infrequent than blue burst. Damage in strive is very high; so unless you can guarantee it'll hit and give you good chance of winning, you're usually better off saving your burst to escape a combo.

    One thing I'll note is that a lot of potemkin players don't just use HPB when their opponent is jumping, which is kind of weird. It's crazy to me because these are people jumping in tournament against Pot with 50% in execute range, I'm willing to bet a lot of them haven't actually had any real matchups against Pot.

      HPB really isn’t as good of an option as any form of RC to gain or maintain corner. Sure it’s big damage, but Pot already does big damage.
      And… yeah of course they’ve had real matchups against Pot. That’s a part of playing at a high level. There are Celestial Potemkins to practice against, and of course Snake Eyez himself.

      @a.m.6901 It's an execution move, you don't need to gain/maintain, it wins you the round. Celestial is not high level either, park is. Celestial is a formality.
