Gotta say, this is the most impressive ride I've seen from Disney in a while.
Honestly I think its the very extensive pre-show that sells it!
@@sevfront3366 Trackless too which is insane!
You didn't consider Flight of Passage or the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run to be impressive.
@@mitchellries256 Flight of Passage was my favorite but Smugglers run was supercool as well - Specially with the setting inside the Falcon. But from the look of it this will surpass both of them. J.
Nyanka Jinx yep. sorry pooh’s hunny hunt at tokyo disneyland, you may be trackless too, but not as long as rise of the resistance
A *really* nice detail in this ride is that during the interrogation, Hux and Kylo Ren must be on a projection screen. However, they have additionally mapped out their movements, and they are overlaying a *second* projection of their shadows on the wall from another source to make them appear three dimensional! It definitely helps sell the illusion!!!
Yea I was wondering how they did that
Yea I noticed their shadows on the ceiling. A really nice touch!
I NOTICED THAT AND I WAS LIKE OMG!!!
It’s so wonderful to see that Disney still does rides in which you go through scenes, even while other entertainment companies just use screens and virtual reality.
This and the Harry Potter rides do it best where it is a mixture of both
@@Quickscript Yes...but even with the Harry Potter ride there are some moments where the whole ride is just a dome screen with no practical set pieces. At least with this ride, though there are moments with screens, there are set pieces places around them to add depth.
"You will be processed to be interrogated IMMEDIATELY"
*everyone calmly stands around taking photos for several minutes*
Disney: "Galaxy's Edge will be the utmost imerssive experience for guests in theme park history!"
Guests: /Staring at phones while talking about irrelevant things incessantly/
New dream Disney Job.... the Attraction CM that plays the resistance member that breaks you out.
woollimy attractions CMs change positions every 30 minutes.
woollimy you would be surprised. I work there and we all love it
This is by the far the most amazing experience Disney has ever done. Bravo
This is the best pre show to a ride yet!
Sevfront
*which one*
I wrote this on another site but the thing I was most impressed about the pre show was the launch video background. If you launch in the day the movie is day. If you launch at night the movie is night. That's attention to detail!
@@stevenvasquez1709 I didnt even know that! very cool
Never going to be able to unsee bellydancing Kylo!
I thought the same - the only thing off that stood out. I figured he was doing the hula.
Well, there was a strong wind effect during that part cause the windows shattered behind him that's why he's swaying like that.
Yea and I'm sure if you suddenly had a wall break off behind you into the vacuum of space you would just stand there motionless.
I knew people would be complaining about the animatronics. I think it adds to the charm, personally. A little bit of old school, a little bit of new.
It;'s not the explosion, it's the hand motions before - I expected him to act like a ghost: "OoooOOOOHHH! I'm spoooky!"
This really is incredible. The imagineers truly outdid themselves on this one.
Bacara...reference to the clone wars commander, hmmm? Also this isn’t a ride anymore, it’s an experience
There's so much going on but in an extremely well done way. It's amazing
Disney's USA parks finally get their own trackless ride experience and it looks like it was worth the wait!
Ben Gerlach There was Winnie the Pooh, is also trackless.
@@badideabearcub2747 If i'm not mistaken, only Whinnie the Pooh in Japan is trackless
@@mariotorresgo You are right. I checked. My mistake. However the other trackless ride in the USA prior to this one was Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters at Disney California Adventure. Same technology, different shape of the vehicle.
From start to finish it looks absolutely amazing. The detail, the effects. I can't wait to experience the depth of the projections screens. A video of a video never looks good but these looked great so i'll bet the live version will blow me away. Did you notice the matching shadows of the projected cast that further enhanced the realism? After viewing several videos I was also amazed that the take off video projections in the first transport changes with the time of day. Absolutely incredible. Without having been on it (next week at WDW) I call this the ride of the decade.
Steven Vasquez for the foreseeable future, guests can ONLY experience this ride in boarding groups, and they sell out extremely fast! Get there super early before the park opens, get on the My Disney Experience app, and reserve a boarding group time. When it’s time for your boarding group to ride, you’ll get an alert via MDE, and you’ll have up to 2 hours to make your way to the attraction.
All boarding groups were sold out by 8:30 this morning, so it’s critical that guests get to the park first thing in the morning.
OMG. Thank you so much. We'll do that!
Steven Vasquez you’re welcome. I’m a travel agent and I’ve been kept in the loop with opening day.
Nice! Well it was helpful advise. I was going to show up late and just wait in line. I would have missed the whole thing!
Oscar Isaac looks like he's trying not to piss himself laughing
How?
@@Lightguardian_HOH You can see him trying to hold back a smile, its so cute!
@@Aramoonstaz I can't tell
Ya I definitely caught that. lol
Yeah, he looks like he just now realized he’s in a Disney ride
“How brave...but ultimately hopeless!”
yeah i fell you.
It's like someone better idea but my new *force* down your throat cast
Haha I love that line. Especially since the way he says "How brave" is almost endearing. XD
There's nowhere to run!
I would be lying if I said that I was speechless but wow just wow and the fact that there are two paths for different experiences that Is literally insane Disney you have outdone yourselves again 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 and I am excited for the chance to ride this one day.
They're the same path though. No difference at all.
Lechuga there are two perspectives when u go up the lift in the at-at room
@@jakeharkunc5792 Perspective in a same room with same animatronics, same storm trooper animation as other is not different experiences. It's literally the same thing in either one.
@@lechuga5985 Lechuga is correct. There's 2 different perspectives/angles after you go up the lift of the troopers, but otherwise the ride is nearly identical on either path.
Awesome ride wow........there are combining several ride systems in one ride! Love Live Disney!
Star Wars is from 20th Century-Fox and Lucasfilm Ltd.
@@Naminski1a did they make this ride?
@@Naminski1a Disney made the ride. Lucasfilm made Star Wars which was originally distributed by 20th Century Fox.
Because 20th Century-Fox and Lucasfilm Ltd. are both owned by Disney.
3 big wins...Great ride, Mandalorian and the video game. Lets hope the movie is a big surprise smash hit!
stonedcommander I have a really good feeling it well as long as the toxic side of the fandom keep their mouths shut
@@noahmarshall8726 Well the toxic side is only toxic when you disagree with their position. We all have a right to our honest opinions and id wager 99% of real fans hope its awesome...But, you must understand that if it stinks as bad as the last the filmmakers will hear it.
That actor is now Hux and the Weasely brother at Universal
He plays Bill Weasley in Harry Potter.
I'm calling it now, Kylo in this ride, is more intimidating and menacing than he will ever be in the entire trilogy.
@@Red-zh7vq Awful? most of the animatronics were well animated
@@Red-zh7vq He's supposed to be fighting being sucked out. There is a huge blast of wind too that helps sell the illusion. It looks funkier on video
@@Red-zh7vq Well, he's using the force to keep his feet in place so he doesn't get sucked out. Thats why he's too distracted to stop us. :D
That's amazing. Even the pre-show queue is so immersive! I wonder if the backgrounds behind Poe before takeoff match the time of day or the weather.
Not sure about weather, but yes, time of day. I've seen videos of it at dusk and it was darker in the videos segments as well. Same for Smuggler's run. It changes to match time of day as well.
I spy Tim Tracker 9:03 in the red sweater.
Haha I thought I was the only one that noticed that!
Wow good eye
Wtf that's him
Holy cow I didn't catch that. Nice looking out. :)
That looks like him, for sure!
That's one area of the park I could work in. All pissy " How many in your party!? Stand over there and hurry up. You are about to be interrogated!"
*"LOOK OUT! IT'S ROSE! SHE'S GOING TO CRASH INTO US!"*
LOL
Why didn't they just ease off on the main thrusters when they got caught in a tractor beam? It worked in Star Tours.
First Order has had some time to correct the faults in Imperial tractor beams.
This is such a great attraction. I really like it and the attention to detail
I wish they gave the stormtroopers more movement. At the very start it just looked weird having all those storm troopers stand almost still.
Their movements and body shifts are subtle. Like the Hall of Presidents. You can't have everyone moving around it would look... well fake! A slight body shift here, a gun lowering there with a head turn or two is enough to give the illusion of reality.
agreed, if they had just added maybe like 1 or 2 more animations it would look a little more convincing.
@@stevenvasquez1709 It looked fake for lack of movement, they need not have walked around as it is unbecoming of stormtroopers. However there was almost no movement of heads or arms. It really is a shoddy work.
No one has complained about that who has ridden the ride. I hold on to the fact that shifts and any subtle movement works when you witness it live and don't transfer will on video. Like the guys with the hats in London. On a youtube video they look fake. In real life (been there) they move!
It loooks waaay better in person. Their are a mix of real people in there too.
I see Tim Tracker on the ride!!
Meghan Murphy where?!?! I didn’t see him
@@singingbaker16 @ 9:33 hes in the back left hand corner. Lol
@meghanmurphy so funny how even the back of his head is recognizable lol
8:48 Now that acting adds to the experience, assuring you that you are indeed in Star Wars
This looks so real! I need to go on this ride ASAP it looks incredible!
How they do the lighsaber cutting through effect
Spoilers!! (sometimes it's more fun not knowing, but here's how they do it!): The entire silver metal section of ceiling is one giant disk with a long curved notch already cut into in it. That entire plate rotates around, reveling more of the notch that was already cut into it as it rotates. The curved cutout doesn't appear to rotate/move, however, because the red hot portion around its edges is a projection that is steady, making it appear that the entire silver metal ceiling piece is stationary.
I’m guessing a combination of projections and fiber optics.
I've already been on this ride 3 times now, thanks to the people bringing it to UA-cam for us. There's no way I could ever afford a Disney trip.
Really like they brought back Bakura. Was the first Star Wars book I ever read taking place right after RoTJ back when there was only a few books in canon (old canon lol). Nice they kept so much
I assume 2 simulation with a trackless multi level ride. Love to know the layout of it.
Just Google rise of the resistance track layout, simple
All the details are readily available. Including the loading and lift systems
I know there’s like a 15 or 20 foot drop towards the end. Every video I’ve seen, that release pod mechanic seems to take everyone by surprise.
Kylo’s doing his impression of the wacky waving inflatable tube man.
Wow! Total masterpiece! I'm beyond impressed with this ride. Truly breathtaking.
They’ve done a really damn good job with the story line and all that sort of stuff I can’t to experience it in 2 weeks
I'm going to go get in line now...
So amazing that it's already broken down. Truly ground breaking
Please find me a ride anywhere on Earth that on its debut day has not broken down? This is what we call normal.
Found the virgin
this might be the coolest and most immersive ride i've seen at Disney. I definitely was swerved as i thought it would just be another lame "sit down and watch this screen play while the structure shakes" ride and it was actually still part of the queue...good stuff!!
WOW!!! Like holy smokes!! Talk about emersive!! Can't wait to try it out!!
Thanks for the vid! Best footage of the lightsaber ceiling effect I’ve seen yet!
I just have to pause this video and say that this is AWESOME.
I cannot wait to ride this in February! Bringing an umbrella for when I wait in the sun in the long line, and a Star Wars adult coloring book to keep myself occupied in the long line. Ahhhhh this is going to be amazing!!
i hate the living f*** out of what Disney has done to Star Wars... but this is nothing short of absolute magic!
You can disagree with it all you like that's your opinion. But to others like myself enjoy watching the ST.
The Imagineers are talented as f***.
I wish Admiral Ackbar didn't die in the movie, that could have been him in the ride.
Batu and Smugglers run was great enough but this time Disney has outdone themselves in an inmersive ride. Its also cool to see all the well known characters from the current movie trilogy but you might wonder if those will be so hot ten years down the road when the current trilogy is a thing of the past? Well I guess they could change the setting to whatever characters that they have then.
It was great to se that those ride vehicles seemed easy enough to board and that they had at least some actors in the show even thou it was hard to tell what was what from times to times, it shows the skills of the animiatronix of the day.
As an SW fan this ride is a must if I ever get back to Batu - It looks like tons of funs and the atention to details on this ride is just breathtaking. It picks everything Disney has learned from the past decades of ride building and put it together into one amazing showpiece. J.
Johan M Star Tours was still a hot commodity years after both Original AND prequel childhoods so I’d say yes. Plus the fact that it’s not just a screen ride that can get a paint job like most universal rides is a saving grace.
So impressive! It's a Star Wars take on Mystic Manor. I like the effects. This is the way
This is the way
This is the way.
This is the Way.
Wow!...thats all I can say...i know where want to go next year
Oh my God - that looks amazing.
Seriously with every video you guys have posted in in such aw. This ride has honestly left me speechless and will revolutionize the theme park industry . I can’t wait to ride this with my son who’s just starting to get into Star Wars!!!!
Wow !!! I have goosebumps just watching it on youtube !! Cannot wait to ride this
Cant wait for that 5 hour wait times
😒
@@Red-zh7vq So certain are you? Star Wars isn't dying anytime soon pal keep dreaming.
@@Red-zh7vq Whatever pal you do you¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It looks like a great LucasArts Dark Forces experience too from the 1990s that helped build on the Original Trilogy ... But in this case the Disney sequels and First Order Dark Forces new spin!
I'd be the one guy who doesn't go along with the whole "being captured" thing grabbing a fake blaster and knocking down a trooper screaming for everyone to get behind me while the crew all just stand there stunned waiting for security. It would make one hell of a different experience. lol
Way better than that other thing they called a ride. I was kinda hoping to see a room filled with stormtroopers coming at you but them just standing there looked cool and creepy.
This video didn't really show it, but as you are pulled into the docking bay, looking out the windows you see the storm troopers running into the bay and lining up as you land. Then the door opens and there they all are. It really sells it, and when you are physically there in that huge room with the sounds and sights and the First Order officer commanding you... it's going to feel VERY different than it does at home on a monitor.
This looks like one of the best rides Disney has ever made. Definitely in the top 3 with Indiana Jones and Pirates. Well done!
The continuity of this only makes sense if Poe replaces his Black X-wing with an identical one at some point between Episode 8 & 9. I do think they should have used CRT Television monitors though.
Though I don't think it's canonical at all as there is no real point where Rey can be part of the Resistance and Kylo has un unbroken mask. Hopefully they are running the video over 120 frames per second to help immersion. Otherwise the human mind immediately knows it's just video. They may want to update the projectors on the blast marks on the Walkers legs too - they look a bit faded. The projection of the space battle though is very good very bright and realistic looking. That Kylo Anamatronic that nearly gets spaced might need some tweaks though. Overall it's pretty damn good. I'd love to see the raw video feeds of the space battle in isolation though.
WHOA....talk about immersive!
The line is like the ride it is that cool
Looks like Disney created a spectacular experience with this attraction. I would love to see them apply this kind of novelty to a Star Wars themed roller coaster, the possibilities seem limitless.
Very Cool. Probably the most important, innovative and immersive ride since "Pirates".
I'm not a big fan of star wars but I have to give then credits for the way the attraction looks.
The movies might suck but this looks cool AF
Well in your opinion the movies suck but to others like myself enjoy watching the ST. So agree to disagree.
Hey, if you actually say 'as f*&k,' you got yourself a pretty decent rhyme, you badass poet, you!
This looks almost as good as Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. They should just bring that back.
Robert Barker I agree but really... lol
Awsomer than i thought
Im going to the Disney headquarters in L A to thank them for a job well done!
Impressive......
Most Impressive.....
I think this ride was the reason why my dad wanted to go lol
Really incredible! What a massive attraction. Although, watching the Disney staff attempting to act is making me cringe.
Im going to have to get on this ride a few dozen times !!!! Dang now only if the movies were this good?!?!?!?
all they gotta do is switch it to OT, wont be hard
Omg I’ll be riding this in 18 days!!!!
I really wish the interrogation room was with animatronics :(
This seems like the first people to ride on the ride because a lot of the parts were delayed. The most noticeable one was the scene where kylo ren comes down from a hallway that seems to go on forever.
Best ride in The world 🤩
What was that drop at the end like? .. free fall or just a dip? going at the end of December and don't like rides with drops
small free fall. Enough to make your stomach tickle.
23 feet!!!!! That’s a lot!!!!
It's only about 20 feet but it is a free fall. It's exactly what you see. You are dropped from the ship before the engines kick in. Nowhere near what Tower of Terror does to you (that actively pulls you down).
Wish they would make a Prequel ride with Clone Troopers
it's definitely the most impressive ride Disney have ever built, but i do kind wish Kylo Ren in the ending would move a bit more, but the ride it's still amazing
And I wish that he had his lightsaber with him & have it tutn it on where he tries to take one or two swipes at the guests in the vehicles.
I need to ride this!
13:27 finaly some love for R5 units
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Star Tours: The Adventures Continue are the greatest Disney theme park attractions ever and on second thought, Star Wars is from 20th Century-Fox and Lucasfilm Ltd.
Apparently resistance is NOT futile afterall.
Phil Rabe .....wrong series.
LMAO that's not Star Wars. xD
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was sick
Looks absolutely "FANTASTIC". Out of a 10 star Rating - I give it 36 stars! Really helps make up for "Smugglers runs Video game(you play with 5 other people) ride. I may have to make a trip to Disneyland when ride opens next year.
Omg...can we please get this up and running in socal
5 weeks. And as I understand it FL was opened for real world use and if something major happens they have an unopened Disneyland version they can work out fixes on. The ride is unbelievably complex. Like nothing else anywhere. They're trying to play this as smart as possible to keep downtime as minimal as they can. And opening day only had 7 or 8 downtimes, only 1 was an hour long, the rest were mostly 15 to 20 minutes.
9:04, a wild timtracker appears
Ok, what is really going on here? The Mandalorian is a hit on Disney+, Jedi Fallen Order has no EA controversy, and this ride is blowing everyone away! Is Star Wars cool again!? If so I think we can all be at peace! :)
Daisy Ridley's acting is as wooden as ever and Oscar Isaac is nearly laughing through his lines. Lol!
The best attraction ever!!!!
So amazing
Incredibly immersive
Amazing. So excited to experience this!!!
i love it and i never had watched Star wars! i can’t wait to ride it :D
It's good to remember that when people say "I expected more! ☝️/ This is underwhelming! ☝️" they are referring to their own miserable lives and frustrations and not to the best and most complex ride ever created in all times. Sleep well, y'all! 😘
I’m floored.
I wanted wait 4 o more years to go to Orlando once again until for Universal and Disney opens the coming soon attractions and park, but after to had watched this, I think I can't hehehehe.
I’m so excited to go to Disney world again
Disney is going to make a *FORTUNE* off this ride!!
Looks really good, hope they can keep the % availability up, but like all mechanical and electrical devices, they have teething issues, Haggrids ride was the same as was King king and other technological rides. For me i love the look of this and being a SW fan, well its simply great.
