Geert Van Nerum There are tours of the factory available, just book in advance on line, mostly in German also English, other languages on request, I went on a tour in French. If you are a member of a BMW Motorrad Club there is a discount available, certainly used to be, some years since I visited the factory. Sadly no free samples at end of tour. If interested there are tours of the car plants as well. Highly recommended if in Berlin, car plants elsewhere in Germany.
I think the prices are competitive. You definitely get what you pay for. Ive got a '12 R1200R and I've been pretty happy with my bike and dealer support since the day I bought it.
It looks like these bikes are assembled with a great degree of care. The workers don't appear to be stressed or rushed. There's a very good flow among them as well. It's nice to see.
Happy owner of a 2012 R1200RT. Had a 2009 R1200RT prior to the 2012. Ride all year round, never had any problems at all. Average 12,000 miles per year.
Police in California uses the R1200RT-P as well (they used to ride Harleys, but are replacing them with BMWs).
Thank you for sharing. Good old German engineering, quality, built to last. Bought a new urban gs. Nice to ride, love the sound of the boxer engine. Regards from Queensland, Australia.
Lovely video. Though, could someone kindly answer me as to why they omitted (twice) the part of the footage that involves assembly of the fuel tank to the chassis/engine. Thanks.
German police should be very happy. Beautiful motorcycle! I'm from Brazil. :-) Deutsch Polizei sollte sehr glücklich sein. Schöne Motorrad! Ich bin aus Brasilien. :D
It was very nice to see them work peacefully . M & M automotive sector where I worked in 1998 , workers did not believe in peaceful work practice. They just wanted to finish the work on hurry and sleep the rest of shift hrs .
Customer satisfaction and long-term reliability statistics in the industry don't bear that out. In fact, BMW has consistently rated lower in overall reliability than all the Big 4 Japanese manufacturers for many years now. It's a bit of a known sentiment in the motorcycling enthusiast world that the old "airhead" BMW's were significantly better in terms of long-term reliability.
Mein absolutes Traumbike: GS !!!
I'm not a motorcycle enthusiast per se, but from what I've read and seen, BMW makes a very durable and dependable bike. I know that a lot of police departments throughout the world prefer the BMW over other brands because BMW bikes are robust, extremely reliability and low maintenance.
How long for though? I'm not a BM fan,but credit that they're made there. But some parts Inc some engines now manufactured in Asia? My Triumph was made in the uk,but most now made in Malaysia, but still wear the British badge lol.
you have nothing for me to be jealous about as i also own several motorcycles i just don't need to brag to everyone on youtube!, this comment had nothing to do with you promoting your channel! it's about you comments on everyone else's channel...just say'n it how it is & i'm clearly not the only person who noticed.A true motorcycle enthusiast does not sprout all the time.
Of course I realize there's going to be a few people that get the wrong impression of my promotional efforts. That's why I'm taking the time to explain. I make my videos (in part) to educate people about the HP4 and Panigale R. Example, many people think the Panigale has a dry clutch, it doesn't. They learned it has a wet & slipper clutch from my videos. Its not bragging. We will disagree on this and I'm done trying to explain. I will continue promoting my awesome UA-cam channel and thanks for viewing.
Germans don't believe in happiness in the workplace. I spent 4 years going in and out of the BMW plant in South Carolina - the German bosses were absolutely, unequivocally, the most strict, unyielding, humorless people you'd ever come across. Laughter and levity in that plant were strictly verboten.
Still don't know how that "beep" passes as a horn! BMs used to have decent twin horns, now you have to buy aftermarket units, pretty shoddy when you've spent £19,000 on a K1600GTSE!.
A nicer ending would've been a factory whistle blowing, the work shift ending, and the men walking out to the parking lot and driving away on their BMW bikes.
Where are you from? :)
Guatemala
Indonesia
France
Slovakia
Saudi Arabia
These guys actually care about what they are making, gotta respect.
Fascinating! I want to see this with my own eyes!
These workers must be well trained and dedicated.

That is the cleanest manufacturing plant I've seen in 45 years. BMW, I'm really starting to like what you do.
I think the prices are competitive. You definitely get what you pay for. Ive got a '12 R1200R and I've been pretty happy with my bike and dealer support since the day I bought it.
Really good factories are almost quiet...
+dierks67 So, this is medium quiet?
I wrote this in comparison to asian factory videos I saw.
I like how clean and organized everything looks.
Uniforms also, much diff then a plant in US.
That's how it supposed to be. You don't want contaminants in your engine.
It looks like these bikes are assembled with a great degree of care. The workers don't appear to be stressed or rushed. There's a very good flow among them as well. It's nice to see.
Shukur
Just for the eyes of camera

old concept...good concept
You know..thousends of other owner YES
I love how quiet it is here. My local library is louder than this.
This must have been filmed on a training day/night, a weekend or a holiday.
No way it’s this quiet on a normal workday.
I want that white GS sooooo bad.
Sat on one a few months ago, it was amazing.
scrambler350 Lucky man!
So much goes into these places, unbelievable.
Fascinating, to watch these assembly videos. Such a cool process. The car ones are equally fun.
I'm from Brazil and really the Germany equipments are very good!
Excellent video! A lot of precision!
Very impressive. These bikes are really well assembled with precision and care.
Thanks to the workers ! You make a great job !
Wonderful video. Loved watching the assembly.
Police in California uses the R1200RT-P as well (they used to ride Harleys, but are replacing them with BMWs).

What beautiful machines!
Thank you for sharing. Good old German engineering, quality, built to last. Bought a new urban gs. Nice to ride, love the sound of the boxer engine. Regards from Queensland, Australia.
look at how clean this facility is! impressive german engineering!
i love this video, especially everything of it;-)
Lovely video. Though, could someone kindly answer me as to why they omitted (twice) the part of the footage that involves assembly of the fuel tank to the chassis/engine. Thanks.
Just watching all the specialty tooling is a sight to behold.
RT and boxer engine - that´s the best combination for the bike!
THANKS for sharing this nice video..
Oh that s1000rr is a beauty!
That was very interesting. Thanks for posting it. Barry
6:20 - 6:23 - Time for Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson, and BUN E. CARLOS, to walk up and ride out on four of these!
Wunderschön! 👌🏼 Gruß an Berlin!
They're building an R1200GS, not an S 1000 R. You can even see the guy install a GS fairing @2:30
GS1200 is my dream bike... I ride 10 year old ex-police R1150RTP. Fantastic touring bike, Love BMW twin boxer engine,
Thank you Deutchland for your great products! They make our life a beautiful jeourney! Peace!

i don't mind getting pulled-over by one of these bad boys, awesome stuff! i need one.. what's Santa's address in the North Pole??
It was very nice to see them work peacefully . M & M automotive sector where I worked in 1998 , workers did not believe in peaceful work practice. They just wanted to finish the work on hurry and sleep the rest of shift hrs .
Wow! Echt Klasse!!! Grüsse von Barcelona!
German engineering = the best in the world.
I see a R1200GS Adventure in my future! :)
Mine too!

It's a bit of a known sentiment in the motorcycling enthusiast world that the old "airhead" BMW's were significantly better in terms of long-term reliability.
What you have said is very much true. Totally agree with you.
Excellent video, well worth the time to watch!

Taking pride it what you do. Good work ethics!
Great video !I was wondering if I would get a BMW or a Ducati, I think I will go for BMW, the factory look so clean !Thanks !
This is the work I'd like to have !
Knowing that my motorcycle is built in Germany and at this factory makes me proud

Interessante.
How long for though? I'm not a BM fan,but credit that they're made there. But some parts Inc some engines now manufactured in Asia? My Triumph was made in the uk,but most now made in Malaysia, but still wear the British badge lol.
The workers look so chilled out compared to the Honda factory.
Cool. I like to see this factorys. Amazing process of manufacture. Well done BMW.
Excellent German quality work!
I subscribed and on the notification :-)! I love BMW. I hope someday I get one to achieve my dreams. God Bless
Keren sekali ...kapan bisa kebeli BMW nya ..

Excellent Work.
Wow Amazing bike in world.
The name of quality BMW.
on youtube dont existe a video show the development and test of the engine bmw s1000rr some one now here i can see that?
Hi! I’m a student, I’d like to ask if some parts of this process are imported from different countries?
Thank you so much
It's interesting. I've toured a LOT of assembly lines in the USA and none of them are like...this. Differences? Can't put my finger on it.
Is there only one bolt holding that side shroud on?
The HP4 is beautiful.
What a wonderful video!
Que engenhosidade, parabéns BMW
Moto linda .
Piękna robota. ;)))
Awesome video of the bikes being assembled. My HP4 and Panigale R are awesome bikes!
why don't you trade both your bikes in for a KTM RC8R. then we might be impressed.
how come every supersport video i see, i have to see a comment with you bragging about your bikes?
I'm promoting my UA-cam channel and its awesome content. Not bragging.

I'd get one if they weren't so damn expensive, lot of hands on which is good to see.
Worth every dollar spent.
Good job
It seems so quiet, I went to the Triumph factory a few years ago, that seemed much noisier.
nice

It's a beautiful factory. That dynamo test in the factory has to be weird.
So most bikes are made in one production line??👍 except the GS?
So the cylinder heads are air cooled, what does the radiator cool?

Very good 😍😍😀
At first, I thought this was the inside of a Planet Fitness gym.
yes, auto nations, the german culture for mechanic...

Oh I see this is a 2013 clip, wondering are all BMW's now manufactured in India.
Never though of a job like this, but it would be fun for me.
I'm on my 7th BMW bike. I love them.
Latest R1200R Exclusive 2018.
Gorgeous.
I keep dreaming of this bike 💓💓💓💓
great motor.. I love it... sure quality is great.. nice to ride.. beg is better.. . I like to choose it.
very smart bmw.. keep producing bikes that have catastrophic engine failure the first time it falls down.
Bravo! True professional BMW
Bardzo elegancki motocykl..;)))
Too bad it was fast forwarded at 3:10, I would have liked to watch the whole video at standard motion.
A nicer ending would've been a factory whistle blowing, the work shift ending, and the men walking out to the parking lot and driving away on their BMW bikes.
At 1:18 someone is calling "gopal!"
Ummm, thats an R1200GS for the most part. Yeah sure, a minute or so of the S1000
