Yea man confidence is such a huge thing while sniping in OW. If you get discouraged it's easy for your performance to wilt. If you get the shots it's such an ego boost though and you feel like the hottest shit ever. It's like havin sex
The key is to always believe. I’ve had games where I’m almost cancelled for the first half of the match, and just barely being useful. And then BAM! Suddenly it happens! And I pop off so hard to clutch the map and pull back up to leading the team in kdr. But I’m a one trick now, so I guess that helps the mentality, I would have swapped a year ago.
So what I learned from this: Get large mouse pad Set relatively low sensitivity Aim with whole arm rather than wrist (seriously, just like drawing!) Go into practice range and try to aim at the same spot while moving around it (tweaking sensitivity) Go into practice range and try to follow moving bot heads (tweaking sensitivity more! see if you are "overshooting" or "undershooting") Go into practice range and try to shoot all the moving bots in the head fast and accurately while standing on the moving platforms until you're consistently killing them 7-8 times. Then go to custom match with easy bots and try hitting them from difficult angles (e.g. where they will be moving sideways in your scope, not towards or away from you) Once you're pretty good in all that (you hit most your shots, or at least feel like you do), then you can start shooting players :) How'd I learn all these things you never really said? Because I read between the lines! :D
idk man.... when the other team admits that "ur widow carried to bad it went to waste" Or "widow only skill on other team" I think u playing widow is fine...
Overall, this is a nice enough video but I fear all the widowmakers on my team are watching this. "With enough practise, widowmaker can be played in any position!" No Support...
Definitely don't mean that! She can deal damage all over the map, but if she's either not the damage dealer you need or your team is lacking some other aspect to sustain the comp, she definitely can be a bad pick.
+Your Overwatch hey, I just found your video and it's great:D but I have a question. I play on console so should I have a higher sensitivity then a PC player?
Gage Nix I'm no expert on the console version, but I'd say it depends on how much aim assist is on the game. Typically, if there's a lot of aim assist (you could test by dragging your aim across a target and see how well it "sticks" to them) you don't want to have a sensitivity too high, or you may be over-aiming past where the aim assist will be helping you. Does that make sense? Aim assist slows you down and sticks to the target, but if your sensitivity is too high you might not "feel" the tug and be able to utilize it.
+Your Overwatch ok, thanks! I'm just trying to get gud basically because shooters haven't always been my strong suit, and someone has to snipe in my team since everyone wants to play Genji and Tracer
+Gage Nix i play with 60/40 sensivity and scope sensivity 40 on ps4. and it works pretty well. also for flickshots. i checked the aim assist with widow. didnt saw any aim assist there.
I wish we could get an updated version of this video from Freedo on OW2. I love how he breaks down the game, and I’m a Widow one trick. My favorite thing about widow is threatening space by zoning the enemy, and stretching the map to force a unfavorable decision to dive me.
If you're asking who cares, that implies that you don't. The reason you would be asking is because you don't know who cares, and if you don't know who cares, then you're obviously not someone who cares.
Great topic and amazing clips. The sensitivity tip is the most important, I decreased my sensitivity by 2 one night and had the best game of my life, couldn't stop hitting head shots. Lower your sensitivity if you are overshooting your flicks! On the other hand, I disagree with the tip about shooting as soon as possible. Most of the time it pays to just wait an extra 0.3 seconds to get the fully charged shot to get the kill, rather than damage him and reveal your position without getting a kill.
But what about people around you. turning 180 degree to catch them in a short times could be difficult if you don't have a proper mause pad. but definitely I'm gonna try the lower sensitivity. mine was 6-7
+Your Overwatch lol it's an effective way to use mause carpet. I found out after changing the sensitivity I'm dancing in front of the computer with my whole body :) also it's true increases aim.
I'm a console player, I'm pretty good (I think) with the controler (47% accuracy) I always win Windowmaker VS Widowmaker fights because I'm slow (10 sensibility) but never miss her head. But for the first time in my life I'm playing on console with a mouse and keyboard (also first time ever playing with a mouse and keyboard so yes I still have 100 auto aim). I played a few matches with her and got around 51% and 54% accuracy for each match. I'm not used to the way a mouse work and if you get too close and I have to start pewpew I'll lose. But I really want to get better! I want my teammates to stop getting in my way for playing Widowmaker in competition on console! Thanks a lot for this video because now I know what I was doing right and what I was doing wrong! It'll help me a lot! Now I want to be as good as you with Widowmaker!
+Superpizza Eater you do realize that the only reason we buy a console is that it costs less than a PC that can run overwatch. we have a life, not like you.
So because I've got a computer I've got no life. Ever heard of working ? Job ? Money ? Remind me how much an XBox1 is ? Because you can just buy a 500€ compute that runs Overwatch on max quality and optimal fps, so please don't open your mouth on things you've got no clue about.
Thank you for this, I think I'm starting to like her more especially on more dealing with countering her. And this will help me for when I finally pick the game up in preparation for when I play with the squads.
could i ask how many hours you have on playing widowmaker?? im just curious, and i really love your widow videos!! it really helps especially when im getting to play widow a lot more !
+SuperSofaLofa Dingdong You must be lying then.Because TF2 snipers are one of the hardest things to play in any game.If you can play tf2 sniper then you can play widowmaker easily.
The Rabbit thats normal in overwatch :) You have good game as widow, enemy team hates you and call you cheater... You have bad game and your own team hates you because you cant get 5 kills every 20s of the game. Playing Widow in overwatch practicly means you will be always blamed for something, but dont give up she is worth it. I played almost only with her for about 2 months before I had my first competetive match, just because I was scared that if I go in competetive everybody will blame me for loosing. I am not saying I am good Widow player, but now I know I can be usefull to my team. This weekend I had my first competetive match ever in overwatch and we won. What I want to say is that just keep playing with her and you will get better. Once you will be confident go on and show them in competetive. Dont let other players discourage you, because when you are in bad mood you wont hit anything (from personal exprience :D).
It's a tricky call on the issue of just taking a shot when you can vs. charging. Most players with decent awareness will move out of line of sight the moment a Widow hits them. As a result, you often only get one crack to make the shot count, or it will just end up being trash damage. That said, if the target is in a position where team mates can help finish them, then definitely just take the shot.
It's just personal preference, you can't have someone just tell you what sensitivity you should use. Usually you want a lower sensitivity for sniping and have lower dpi like around 400dpi. Again, this is personal preference, so you don't need to do this stuff, it's just ideal.
Most CS pros use 400 dpi. See docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UaM765-S515ibLyPaBtMnBz7xiao0HL5f-F1zk_CSF4/edit#gid=1762004852 400 or 800 is fine, but if you're at 800 use half the in game sensitivity as you would at 400.
Awesome guide! I like how you talked about how to actually aim and pre-position your cursor rather than just go into excessive details about mouse sensitivity and stuff like that. I feel like I liked a lot. Thanks!
After watching this video I realized ur advice was very similar to what I did with my Hanzo play. I practiced tirelessly with him in games on offense and defense until I perfected my aim. Now 3/4 games I receive play of the game for a quick 4 or 3 picks. It feels great to have the reward and you obviously feel pretty confident in ur widow play as I am with Hanzo.
lol idk my sens is at 2.2 when playing widow/mcree/soldier and i got up to 3 when playing someone like reaper, d.va, pharah or supports. But it kind of depends, I dont just change my sens in the middle of a game but i mainly main d.va so I usually stick around 3. :P
Hey thanks @Your Overwatch ! It's nice to see people trying to help others improve, rather than keeping their tips and tricks to themselves and just laughing at those trying to learn.
:) People are so debating about skills, team compositions and so on, but what really separates the tiers-ranks it's that more you are climbing up on the ladder, more the teammates are helping each other. There are many very skilled players in the lower ranks, but what it's holding them back is the indifference towards their teammates during the match, playing by themselves and not with the team.
Tobias Co there was actually a copy of overwatch that was special edition origins (there's normal origins and there's this special one) and it had a code for the noire skin
Normally, you could get noire skin from pre order the OW. since the game has been launched, you can't get it anymore.. buying the origin edition won't include that skin.. I search and found the way to get the skin without pre order it. i bought on www.cdkeys.com/. Buy and they give you a code that you can redeem, and you get the skin. it was around $6.. but last time i checked it, the cost increased a lot to around $20. i'm lucky that i bought when it was cheap... edited : i search it and found this www.gamesdeal.com/overwatch-noire-widowmaker-skin.html?a_aid=gocdkeys it's around $5, but i don't know whether the site is trusted because i've never bought there
usually a tip that i use is that you can center your crosshair to about head height by aiming at the lines textured on a wall, so when someone comes around the corner you can get a pretty easy headshot. like for example on kings row if you are on defence and you aim at the second story door on the enemy spawn thiers a line on the wall next to the door and if you line up your crosshair with that line its always a headshot
I play too much widow, and usually get golds in things after a few warm up rounds, but I never realized the importance of crosshair (pre)placement. I usually rely on the trip mine and AR function for close range, and when I lose health I back off and snipe, usually with flicks because I let my crosshair be wherever so long as I have a target picture. Thanks for the guide, has some really well thought out tips.
I'm so jealous of the video quality of your computer I'm not even really listening to what you're saying. I have a 50 percent render scale with 30 fps so...
Hermit I have 30 fps and my graphics are on the lowest setting. When the match first starts I can't even see people I just see their name tags. I can't even see myself for the first 20 seconds!
:) As a general rule, it's recommended a low sensitivity for shooting and a higher for melee. That's why a gaming-mouse, with a both easy to reach and not to by accident DPI setting button, it's topmost recommended.
"If you want to be Widowmaker, you have to almost cosplay Widowmaker, you have to wear the lyotard and have your cleavage showing and be ready to rock and roll." Yes.
(competitive ) Team: switch switch plzzz Me: no *30 seconds in* Match chat: OMG that widow is annoying, oops that was meant for team Me: lol tem Salty team: I still dont like u Me: I can live with that *we win bc of me* Sigh, I hate people
Dude...your sniping skills are boss! I started doing a lot better at Widowmaker recently -- to the point where I have at least 60% scoped accuracy. This video helped me get there. So thanks bro!
This is good to know because i usually wait for full 100% charge and that's usually my downfall because that time waiting for charge can kill you. aside from that i like having a high sensitivity in order to flick whenever someone is trying to get away or pop an ult. i usually keep my crosshairs at a height that's universal to the head levels and if an enemy is being difficult i let them walk into the headshot. I always go for the ones who are singles out or the healers. if that's what im supposed to do.
So, I have been watching several Overwatch videos as I love the game. Mostly at work or away from computer. When I saw your handle I thought it sounded familiar. I watched a few more and got to this video. Where I'm on your team in a couple of the clips. Having seen you play first hand knowing what your capable of as Widowmaker I think I might have to give her another look.
Hey, so I'm relatively new to this whole sniper thing since I've never really been too confident in my sharpshooting abilities but I'm currently trying to improve. Now my question is for how long have you been playing sniper and how long have you been practicing? Great video btw.
For people with smaller mousepads, would you recommend lower or higher sensitivity? I have a decent grasp on mine placement, sniper perches and proper use of the grappling hook...but I simply can't land my shots. I don't have the same problem when playing Hanzo because it's a little easier to land his shots and he has a wider hitbox.
I'm on console and this helped so much. I'm getting 52% scoped accuracy, don't die as much anymore, and I'm having way more fun playing as her. T^T Bless you Robin Hood.
That's the most important thing about a good widow, it forces the enemy team to maybe genji/winston and target you - causing 1-2 people to NOT be on the point, allowing your team to 5 v 4 a lot of the time.
Thanks for your great work! Love the videos. Would you guys do a video on how and when to use the melee attack on OV? Maybe you can talk about utility of the melee attack with different characters. I just dont find myself using it and would like to learn how to best use it.
Hi Freedo! May I ask what scoped & unscoped sensitivity could you recommend for widowmaker with my mouse at 800 dpi... I really want to improve on Widowmaker... P.S My current sensitivity is 8 (Unscoped) and 32 (Scoped)...
I think it's difficult to give suggestions regarding sensitivity because it's a matter of personal preference, style (some people use mostly the wrist, others move the forearm, others the whole arm) and available space on the desk. I use 800dpi, 6 general sensitivity and (Iirc) 20 scoped.
I find it easier to maintain muscle memory at insanely low sens. My entire arm is used to aim, wrist to adjust, arm to flick. I play on 800 dpi, 2 sensitivity in OW. Yes, that's not a typo, 1/4th of what you're on lol. Our scoped is near though, mine is 30 (I left the default), but I think that's more of a "modifier" to whatever your normal sens is.
I'm new to the game and just hit lv 10, is this real level 19 play or do you have multiple accounts. also can you make a guide on recommended techniques for leveling up and practice? should i just be playing pvp until i get a handle on it, or should i be sitting against the lowest level bots until im comfortable to move up to the next bots?
For console players wondering about sensitivity; push it up to 40 from standard and gradually increase by 2-3 points every hour until you can control it. I play on about 50 sensitivity right now which seems to work for me. Although I'm yet to master Widow I can get decent headshots in a game.
i've recently increased my playtime with widowmaker and my aim has improved a lot (been hitting between 60-75% scoped), still have a long way to go though however i think the countdown on the hook is outrageous! 12 seconds is way too long, between 6-8 would seem perfect imo... it allows you more mobility while you primary counters can still chase you down (winston, D.va) also i think a slight decrease in shot loading time is needed (higher DPS) this would make her a more.viable pick for the meta
on the PS4 version i am having the hardest time trying to get good shots in, this is my first first person shooter, so i guess i will take the advice and try this.
Watching how easy you headshot someone was so satisfying, I really wish I had your aim. Even though, I use the same sensitivity on every hero, but I would like to know which sensitivity is the most recommended for a nice accuracy.
I play Widow and Tracer a lot on console (PS4), my aims fairly decent considering (average about 40-50% scoped accuracy since I "got gud"). Is it worth practicing with her still though? Given how she's effectively dropped off the meta? I normally pick her to deal with Genjis and Pharahs since both are super predictable 99% of the time.
Going by this.. i'm doing exceptionally well with a small 8 inch mouse area that i can only move the mouse roughly 5 inches one way or another at best due to my large hands. Initially i was averaging about 50% accuracy with scoped accuracy at around 55-60%..... after a few hours of getting used to the way the game played.... i usually tend to get lows of 55-60% where either i just have a bad round... or i'm suffering from a migraine.... with an average in around the 70%... and i managed the other night to have a few rounds that showed me at 79-92% accuracy, i really should have screenshot that, considering that i managed at the end of the round to get legendary (10 upvotes) for the 92% accuracy. Pretty sure the 92% round was a total fluke and just the ultimate perfect conditions. I'm a fan of the LARGE mouse area though, i definitely need to invest in a better than desk/chair that was built for TRS-80's way back in the mid 1970's. I'm sure if i had a good amount of full arms swing with much lower sensitivity, i'd be able to make my shots a lot easier without running into just missing by a hair as often as i do. Doesn't help that i suffer from pretty serious carpal tunnel though... Still i'll suffer and play on.
Does her shots instantly hit when you click your button or is there any travel time at all, even if tiny? Because I paused the video on a lot of your kills in the video and the tracer trail of the shot at times wasn't even close and it still recorded a hit. Is the tracer trail just graphic so people have a chance to see where the Widow is firing from? Or does it have any value on if you hit the target or not?
I think the best games to develop that aim were UT99, UT2003, UT2004. CS thaught me to keep the crosshair at a certain horizontal line, to basically just make left and right adjustments. This game is full scale left right top down most of the time. My hours of UT gameplay paid off twice :D This vid gives some good input tho.
I'm currently practicing Widowmaker, and my current strategy, if this is one, is to aim at where a lot of the enemy team is, and go for headshots, and just attack based on their position, blindly charging and firing. 12 eliminations that game XD
Followed this guide for a few days and got my first hax accusation. 1:54 is actually accurate.
Joey Zero lol nice my dude
Happened to me too before lol people just automatically assume you're hacking
You are good
I actually got accused of Smurfing
I either suck as widowmaker or amazing as widowmaker
All snipers in any game are inconsistent. You either have a great game or bad game. Also snipers tilt easily when they are missing shots.
Yea man confidence is such a huge thing while sniping in OW. If you get discouraged it's easy for your performance to wilt. If you get the shots it's such an ego boost though and you feel like the hottest shit ever. It's like havin sex
danitiwa well said man

that's a nice recap, thanks
Thanks for the recap pal! :)
I know this gameplay is slightly cherry picked but damn you're a beast with Widow Freedo
+Dools Dooley 1,300 hours in CS:GO will do that.
Haha nice man
FeelsBadMan...I'm a decent with the AWP but can't play Widow at all.
soo... about 1000 more hours for me then T_T
***** People generally consider you not experienced in CS sub 2000 hours, which is nuts.
I hate it when ur doing fine as widow u got 20-30 kills with ur name and when ur team loses..... they blame the widow >:(
because I guarantee you should have switched hero's....
idk man.... when the other team admits that "ur widow carried to bad it went to waste"
Or "widow only skill on other team"
I think u playing widow is fine...
my opinion urs is urs all is good
its not a individual game, and if your team is that bad, you playing widow is not helping the situation.
Widowmaker has a lot on her, she either gets blamed for winning or loosing
I tried Widowmaker once and it was a hot mess. A hot ass mess.
We've all heard it before but practice.
*butt* practice
and while you're practicing, ignore all the comments about what an awful sniper you are lol
:) And always start by warming you up in the practice range, just as Kephry does.
some days i'm a human aimbot, other days i hit a total of 2 kills in 7 minutes.
It makes my 12 and 1/2 filled Hyrulian hearts smile to hear you refer to her grapple as the hookshot
Overall, this is a nice enough video but I fear all the widowmakers on my team are watching this.
"With enough practise, widowmaker can be played in any position!"
No Support...
Definitely don't mean that! She can deal damage all over the map, but if she's either not the damage dealer you need or your team is lacking some other aspect to sustain the comp, she definitely can be a bad pick.

widowmakers like you are what make me rage quit the game haha
SORRY!
I just need to git gud and have team mates who KNOW THAT KILLING WIDOW IS A FREAKIN PRIORITY *sorry I'm salty*
impossibrugirl It really is. Looks like you need to recruit good Winston, Tracer, Genji players as friends! ;)
Maybe she needs that widowmaker as a friend hahaha
Pablo Ortega yeah that too haha
I wish we could get an updated version of this video from Freedo on OW2. I love how he breaks down the game, and I’m a Widow one trick. My favorite thing about widow is threatening space by zoning the enemy, and stretching the map to force a unfavorable decision to dive me.
For console players:
Step 1: Give up and play Soldier 76 or something
jha_Norwegian lol. bet you use 76 yourself
used to, now I main tanks (meta and all that)
Haha, please. Headshots are easy on console.
InVain WeDie same especially widow head shots
InVain WeDie Ik..
I remember my dad saw me play as widowmaker super good and he's like I wanna try, he did and he is like how do you play this character xD
who tf cares?
+ErroAxe well if you don't care why did you respond?
That's adorable tho ^.^
If you're asking who cares, that implies that you don't. The reason you would be asking is because you don't know who cares, and if you don't know who cares, then you're obviously not someone who cares.
BloodoftheLotus13 doesn't that mean you're caring because you don't care about caring which means you care about not caring.
This sniping shit is impossible with a controller.
exactly
its so easy lol
Licensed Contractor ?
Not impossible look up Gleevac on YT pretty impressive widowmaker and he plays on Ps4
It was doable in Halo. It just took practice.
Step 1: play on pc.
Definitely
networking problems are far less severe on console
+Deamsters yay
+Deamsters So?
+Deamsters trying to find a flaw on the pc version....

I think under hero settings you can change the sensitivity for Widow for scoped and non-scoped aiming
I use my whole desk to 180! Yes you need a big mousepad, really a mouse mat. Or say, your living room carpet.
+Your Overwatch lol it's an effective way to use mause carpet. I found out after changing the sensitivity I'm dancing in front of the computer with my whole body :) also it's true increases aim.
Just keep your normal sensitivity the same and decrease your relative scope sensitivity
"You can take her to any position" "You can edge a lot" ... the jokes are writing themselves here
On low sensitivities, I literally have to move my hand for like three feet to turn my character around. How do people play with low sensitivity?
I'm a console player, I'm pretty good (I think) with the controler (47% accuracy) I always win Windowmaker VS Widowmaker fights because I'm slow (10 sensibility) but never miss her head. Shizuka Yazawa I always win Windowmaker x widowmaker as well.
You’ll get banned for using a mouse and keyboard on console
Jeff has stated that it’s not permitted
Widowmaker + PS4/XBOXONE = DISASTER
and the nerf now... she's unplayable. and that's coming from someone who put 23 hours into her so he could enjoy her for what she can really be;-;
;-;
lol console plebz
More seriously, buy yourselves a computer.
+Superpizza Eater you do realize that the only reason we buy a console is that it costs less than a PC that can run overwatch. we have a life, not like you.

22 in Quick Play, 5 in Competitive. But to be honest the aim come from practicing CS:GO one taps, a game I have 1,300 hrs in.
i have 1200 hours on sniper alone in tf2 and i cant play widowmaker
rip me
Titanfall 2?
Siddhant Sharma Titanfall 2... Are you serious? :D
+SuperSofaLofa Dingdong You must be lying then.Because TF2 snipers are one of the hardest things to play in any game.If you can play tf2 sniper then you can play widowmaker easily.

Trust me when I say " I'm worse," I literally just learned how to use keyboard and mouse and I have overwatch on pc.
you're so good at this that i needed to replay the video to hear what you're saying just because i was distracted by the game play omg.
this video but every headshot/elimination triggers the roblox death sound
It's a tricky call on the issue of just taking a shot when you can vs. charging. Most players with decent awareness will move out of line of sight the moment a Widow hits them. As a result, you often only get one crack to make the shot count, or it will just end up being trash damage.

please make a video about sensitivity for widowmaker :D
It's just personal preference, you can't have someone just tell you what sensitivity you should use. Usually you want a lower sensitivity for sniping and have lower dpi like around 400dpi. Again, this is personal preference, so you don't need to do this stuff, it's just ideal.
Most CS pros use 400 dpi. See docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UaM765-S515ibLyPaBtMnBz7xiao0HL5f-F1zk_CSF4/edit#gid=1762004852
400 or 800 is fine, but if you're at 800 use half the in game sensitivity as you would at 400.
Awesome guide! I like how you talked about how to actually aim and pre-position your cursor rather than just go into excessive details about mouse sensitivity and stuff like that. I feel like I liked a lot. Thanks!
I never seen 1 Winston jump on this guy but then again he is playing with people at low levels
Your guy's videos help me out a lot. I had lots of Widow potential, sometimes I got 20 kills sometimes I got 5. This really helped me again thank you.
I get so happy when i get the accusations, i know im doing something right
After watching this video I realized ur advice was very similar to what I did with my Hanzo play. I practiced tirelessly with him in games on offense and defense until I perfected my aim. Now 3/4 games I receive play of the game for a quick 4 or 3 picks. It feels great to have the reward and you obviously feel pretty confident in ur widow play as I am with Hanzo.
in overwatch i have mastered all the class except for snipers but im learning and sometimes i make headsjots when im startled
except for genji also
One of the most fun heroes to watch replays of. Thanks for this, very interesting!
How do people move their cursor with 2 sensitivity?
Chris Mckenna you just move the mouse using your hand. I don't know how people can hit anything with a sensitivity higher than 4
Lizzie O it also depends on your mouse's dpi. My sensitivity is around 13. (not sure whether my mouse's dpi is high or low, but it's one of those lol)
lol idk my sens is at 2.2 when playing widow/mcree/soldier and i got up to 3 when playing someone like reaper, d.va, pharah or supports. But it kind of depends, I dont just change my sens in the middle of a game but i mainly main d.va so I usually stick around 3. :P
Well everything beyond 13 is to high and under 9 is to low in my opinion.
Lyn welp it kind of depends on your dpi and resolution.
Hey thanks @Your Overwatch ! It's nice to see people trying to help others improve, rather than keeping their tips and tricks to themselves and just laughing at those trying to learn.
I love good aim widowmaker players. I love to 1shot reflect them as Genji :D
Sky Fist lol, stupid widows are amazing, especially with oni skin, they don't realise u deflected until they are ded, this only works at long range
Sky Fist, same, lol
It truly hurts when you reflect tht bullet :(
You dat boi been killing me?
:) People are so debating about skills, team compositions and so on, but what really separates the tiers-ranks it's that more you are climbing up on the ladder, more the teammates are helping each other. There are many very skilled players in the lower ranks, but what it's holding them back is the indifference towards their teammates during the match, playing by themselves and not with the team.
Should mention the hookshot jump that launches you up.
Video inbound!
its up!
+Your Overwatch woohoo!
I just adjusted the sensitivity. It's crazy how much difference it makes, not just on widow maker, but aiming in general.
i want that noire skin :------(
Tobias Co there was actually a copy of overwatch that was special edition origins (there's normal origins and there's this special one) and it had a code for the noire skin
Paeffles ! but that would mean I'd buy the game again and it's not just worth i think???? :--(
Normally, you could get noire skin from pre order the OW. since the game has been launched, you can't get it anymore.. buying the origin edition won't include that skin..
I search and found the way to get the skin without pre order it. i bought on www.cdkeys.com/. Buy and they give you a code that you can redeem, and you get the skin.
it was around $6.. but last time i checked it, the cost increased a lot to around $20.
i'm lucky that i bought when it was cheap...
edited :
i search it and found this
www.gamesdeal.com/overwatch-noire-widowmaker-skin.html?a_aid=gocdkeys
it's around $5, but i don't know whether the site is trusted because i've never bought there
Yonathan Winata I'll check it out in a bit!!! if it's 20$> I'll buy it haha im assuming transactions are safe?
The confidence in shots is relatable, I sometimes play Hanzo close up. Im going to try maining Widow now :)
Haha there's nothing better than getting accused of hacking after a good match with widow :D
usually a tip that i use is that you can center your crosshair to about head height by aiming at the lines textured on a wall, so when someone comes around the corner you can get a pretty easy headshot. like for example on kings row if you are on defence and you aim at the second story door on the enemy spawn thiers a line on the wall next to the door and if you line up your crosshair with that line its always a headshot
I can't even aim with reaper :,D
I couldn't even aim with the old symmetra.
I cant even aim with moira
I play too much widow, and usually get golds in things after a few warm up rounds, but I never realized the importance of crosshair (pre)placement. I usually rely on the trip mine and AR function for close range, and when I lose health I back off and snipe, usually with flicks because I let my crosshair be wherever so long as I have a target picture. Thanks for the guide, has some really well thought out tips.
I'm so jealous of the video quality of your computer I'm not even really listening to what you're saying. I have a 50 percent render scale with 30 fps so...
bruh that's how people get cancer :( wishing the best for you
Hermit I have 30 fps and my graphics are on the lowest setting. When the match first starts I can't even see people I just see their name tags. I can't even see myself for the first 20 seconds!
Something I learnt on this video that helped me a lot: 1. Take your time to aim, be patient. 2. Move!!, dont stay at the same spot all the game.
She used to be so good
:) As a general rule, it's recommended a low sensitivity for shooting and a higher for melee. That's why a gaming-mouse, with a both easy to reach and not to by accident DPI setting button, it's topmost recommended.
you make it look easy :(
"If you want to be Widowmaker, you have to almost cosplay Widowmaker, you have to wear the lyotard and have your cleavage showing and be ready to rock and roll." Yes.
01:40 nice aimbot LUL
Thank you so much! I wanna remember these tips because I am always missing my shots on enemies with widowmaker
(competitive )
Team: switch switch plzzz
Me: no
*30 seconds in*
Match chat: OMG that widow is annoying, oops that was meant for team
Me: lol tem
Salty team: I still dont like u
Me: I can live with that
*we win bc of me*
Sigh, I hate people
Dude you are a BEAST at Widowmaker.
widow maker is fucking impossible on console. i have 24 hours on her which isnt much but fuck shes so hard to play as.
Josh Fontaine 1. Step: Dont play her on consoles
Dude...your sniping skills are boss!
I started doing a lot better at Widowmaker recently -- to the point where I have at least 60% scoped accuracy. This video helped me get there. So thanks bro!
My sister is a widowmaker GOD! But I cant hit a afk road hog... :')
Thnx so much! At first I wanted to be a Widowmaker main, but decided to be a Sombra main because I don't have confidence with the former.
That Pharrah shot was brutal!
My lord your widowmaker is unstoppable
I'm only ever getting 50-60% scoped accuracy and while that's okay I'm really trying to improve and I think this really helped!
I've been doing oddly well with widow lately and its got me looking for tips lol thanks for the help
Your accuracy is inspirational. Fine shooting, sir. I have a lot of practice to do.
+Ibis Bricks & +FREEDO. Thank you, I appreciate your input.
***** The "scoped sensitivity" setting is actually a modifier of the base value, I think it's percentage. Like 30 means 30% of the basic sensitivity.
I'm already pretty good with Widowmaker but you gave me some helpful information, thanks man.
"the ants go marching one by one" lmao
For console players wondering about sensitivity; push it up to 40 from standard and gradually increase by 2-3 points every hour until you can control it. I play on about 50 sensitivity right now which seems to work for me. Although I'm yet to master Widow I can get decent headshots in a game.
This felt extremely helpful. Widow's probably my worst character and a roadblock to my attempts to get at least _somewhat_ competent with all heroes.
i've recently increased my playtime with widowmaker and my aim has improved a lot (been hitting between 60-75% scoped), still have a long way to go though
however i think the countdown on the hook is outrageous! 12 seconds is way too long, between 6-8 would seem perfect imo... it allows you more mobility while you primary counters can still chase you down (winston, D.va) also i think a slight decrease in shot loading time is needed (higher DPS) this would make her a more.viable pick for the meta
Insane accuracy you have there.
godlike aiming skills. you're so good
Freedo had me at killer instinct....
Actually, he had me at "splitting the difference"💯
Great guide, thats for taking the time to make this! I am a sniper main in tf2 and now want to transfer this knowledge to overwatch, any tips?
I average maybe 20 give or take 5 scoped critical hits a game I'd this on par for what a good widow maker should be getting?
on the PS4 version i am having the hardest time trying to get good shots in, this is my first first person shooter, so i guess i will take the advice and try this.
Watching how easy you headshot someone was so satisfying, I really wish I had your aim. Even though, I use the same sensitivity on every hero, but I would like to know which sensitivity is the most recommended for a nice accuracy.
positioning, take a shot when you can, mouse/controller sensitivity.
This will hopefully help me.
thanks
I play Widow and Tracer a lot on console (PS4), my aims fairly decent considering (average about 40-50% scoped accuracy since I "got gud"). Is it worth practicing with her still though? Given how she's effectively dropped off the meta? I normally pick her to deal with Genjis and Pharahs since both are super predictable 99% of the time.
what about mouse acceleration? lot of people recommend disabling mouse acceleration, do you agree?
great guide, thanks for this, my play has improved already form watching this but i am still miles off your skill!
1:14 that sneaky win edit
as a widow player myself this is so satisfying.
Such a great video! Loved the content and the consistent commentary! +1 sub keep up the good work! :)
How do you know what to set scoped sensitivity to be equivalent to regular sensitivity outside of scope?
hey thanks for the video & for your work some obviously good thoughts
Thanks buddy!
I think the best games to develop that aim were UT99, UT2003, UT2004.
CS thaught me to keep the crosshair at a certain horizontal line, to basically just make left and right adjustments.
This game is full scale left right top down most of the time.
My hours of UT gameplay paid off twice :D
This vid gives some good input tho.
That is some awesome sniping. I love it!
I'm currently practicing Widowmaker, and my current strategy, if this is one, is to aim at where a lot of the enemy team is, and go for headshots, and just attack based on their position, blindly charging and firing. 12 eliminations that game XD
