As you have said before Dave. All shoots should put on at least one day which the normal working man can afford, thats the only way you will reach more people and ultimately kids, lovely film as per usual
Beautifully done film at a really picturesque estate. What a super team of guns you had going there Dave! A 20 in the field is a pleasure and you did your usual great job of shooting whatever gun happens to be in your hands. Equally impressive and important is that you always get the word out of how shooting sports play such a role in habitat conservation to the benefit of all. Thanks and best regards.
Lovely video Dave. Pleasure to hear someone as passionate as yourself supporting our wonderful sport. Nearly the end of another terrific season and here's to many more. Steve.
Hi Dave I'm 12 years old I live in New Zealand and I duck hunt and I go on pheasant with my grandfather I love your flims and as always hit some stunning birds
Hunting/field sports treads a fine line, walking it requires self restraint, moral courage, in depth knowledge, self sacrifice, huge respect for your quarry and discipline. If you practise this everyday you should have no problem explaining to the most extreme anti your stance. A true sportsman/hunter commands respect and also deserves it. Cracking video as usual Dave.
An excellent video, I really enjoyed it! I've been a long-run shooter and hunter as well (ups and downs as years have come by...now going back into the business once more!). I have had 16Ga. and now keep a 12 Ga. but after watching how nicely that bore worked, I am now convinced to buy a 20 Ga. (Verney Carron) on sale!.
Hi Dave hope your well . Happy New Year to you and your family . What a cracking line up looked Amazing day out Dave .Keep up the great work . Look forward seeing you at the British shooting show. That 20 bore looks a great little gun . All the best , Darell 👍
Another great film with some lovely shooting. In the video you make a great point in that the shooting community often shy away from the spot light and the only time we come together is to defend the sport. We should have a constant rhetoric promoting the ecology of shooting, highlighting what shooting does for the community, nature and conservation. If we bang on - excuse the pun - promoting the pro's of shooting with as much enthusiasm as the anti do then we may stand a chance and actually get the positive messages across. But we need to be co-ordinated and encourage people to stand and be counted. At my local shoot we have two very famous actors who would never stand and be counted as they know it would end their careers. But if we are as active promoting shooting as the anti's are against it then these people would be far more keen to stand and be counted.
Another wonderful video, Dave. Happy New Year to you. It seems that every bore has its evangelist. I think everyone should shoot what they want and not care about what the next guy is shooting. You look so comfortable shooting your 12 bore Miroku with the Monte Carlo stock. If I could shoot it that well, I'd never shoot anything else. As for conservation may I suggest Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever.
@@manofkentcatapultsgunsando5069 Quite agree! I have a English 20b o/u and wouldn't think of anything heavier than 28g, in fact the best I think is Hull HP 25gm.
I don't use 32g 5 through my 12 let alone my 20! Those partridges could have been cleanly killed with 13/16 ounce 6s which is a standard 20 bore load. Or 23g if you're French!
The only way schools would let a gamekeeper come in and talk to children in class would be if he told them he used to be a woman who by the way was an ex heroin addict who also marches at Westminster to promote the LGBT COMMUNITY. Now someone tell me im unrealistic. Happy new year by the way.
The moment you bring your other political BS into defending the shooting sports, you've failed your fellow sportsmen. Your statement is ridiculous btw.
@@MrMayhemVI Your OBVIOUSLY out of touch with the way modern Britain has become its got nothing to do with politics you imbecile but everything to do with modern snowflake thinking and brainwashing our kids in school . Either you dont have a Tv or radio or your to busy painting your nails to notice whats happening .
You are unrealistic. I understand your frustration completely and it is natural, when shooting is under attack, to compare it with, and be bitter about, other social issues that get a lot of positive coverage in the media. However, your point about gamekeepers in schools is a very important one, and I can give no better response than that of a gamekeeper friend: ‘If every gamekeeper, visited one school in their life, it would maker a difference.’ He visits schools, scout groups and so on. Nobody has supplied him with a resources pack, he just got on and did it. He came to my school and in one day nearly 700 kids handled pheasant chicks and learned about shooting. I would add that if every shooter gave an oven ready pheasant to their child’s teacher that would make a difference too, and I started saying that sort of thing in letters to magazines 20 years ago. Also every child I have taught knows about shooting. More shooting groups are picking up on this, but too many don’t and a lot have taken a hell of a long time. If we expect things to be fair and even handed we will fade; shooting is easily morally defended, we need more of us to be proactive. I would also say that shooting is a broad community and I think that it does not exclude the LBGT or pretty much, any community, and suspect that it never has.
@@MrEMrC Hi John i have been "like you" begging them to get back to the schools, i think the only way is get rid of the old school who are afraid of a good fight (even when armed to the teeth with scientific proof) they seem to just languish in the hope that it will all go away.
@@DaveCarrieShooting It is so frustrating, I do wonder sometimes if people just don't see, as we do, that shooting ticks so many boxes for good. So many so that there are plenty of ticks left over for boxes that have yet to be discovered! I really do understand the frustration of shooting people, and I think films like yours must give loads of people that quiet nudge that says 'Go on..'! It is a long old track though!
Thoroughly enjoy your films and agree with your philosophy on encouraging youngsters and what shooting does in promoting wildlife, the environment and the countryside as a whole - long may it last! On a shooting note may I ask what chokes you use when taking high birds, I use both a 12 & 20 bore.
I have a question... I love shooting and I love the English culture of shooting. One thing that does bother me a little though, that is the use of lead shot. I would really appreciate a comment on the use of lead shot and its affects in nature and the landscape. Best wishes from Australia.
KurJan&Urbano - I am no expert on the effects of lead on flora and fauna or the environmental impact it may pose, I do know that there are no existing records of any human having died of ingesting any through eating shot game, but the argument is fierce on both sides (to keep it or get rid of it) I think the get rid of it brigade are in front though 🤔
Great video. And thank you Dave for wearing a tie as you always do. However I see more and guns not. What I feel is a disgrace and a total lack of respect to the sport, the estate and the game.
Hi Dave, happy new year to you! I see you're using the clear pigeons. I think I read somewhere that it's best not to choke them too much but I could be mistaken. Could you give your insight and what chokes you used when running them through your gun? Have you used them in a 12 bore? Great video as always. Many thanks
hi Stephen clear pigeons great little traditional load, i use mainly 1/2 and 1/2 or 3/4 3/4 on the more traditional shooting scenarios especially in the 12 gauge
Mega rich people hunting right there. Good for them, looks like fun. But I just stick to my “blue collar” desert hunts of Arizona and California. No champagne, just beer and bourbon in the evenings with friends.
Dear David I could not help but notice that you were carrying your gun over the shoulder as is only to frequently seen on clay busting grounds, it is both ungentelmanly and poor style on a classical shoot Best regards Geoff
in my opinion your films have got to be one of the best if not the best on youtube cheers and keep them coming

Nice to see Simon in the vid, class act and great shot!

100% correct Nick, the problem is education wasted in the wrong places such as gamefairs instead of inner city schools
Great shooting and cinematography!!

Personally I think a 20 b is nicer to shoot with 25-28gr but that's only my opinion.
