LOL..This video was very fun and entertaining to watch my dude. If you only knew how easy that fan comes out. lol. One little plastic pop pin on the top (driver side) and one screw (T25) on the passenger side and it comes straight up and out. LOL. Makes all four of them bolts simple to access. =)

If it's not my thermastat then wtf is causing my car to over heat? I just installed new recovery tank. Brand new. I checked made their there was not a single hole or cut in it at all before I installed it. I installed a new lower radiator hose as well with a top one. Brand new no holes no nothing but for some odd reason uts still over heating... I haven't changed the therama Stat yet. I'm doing that today.

I’m switchingg water pump and thermo right now… did that fix your problem ?

    • @officialyungtwizted3858

@@Blocgod nope. The problem was the inlet hoses underneath the intake manifold. I fix them. And my fan dont work but when i drive it works cus of the air hitting it and moving the fan.

@@Blocgod they were bits and pieces, extremely britle. Gotta be csreful when removing them because they will break off into the head. Real slow with caution.

My 325i is over heating, new expansion tank and fluid. Could my thermostat or water pump be bad.

Jorge Serna when is it over heating? While idling? While driving? Fans running? I doubt its the pump unless its leaking from the pump its self.

Joshua Vieira Didnt do much testing last night. Electric fan did not kick in at all in 10 minutes, clutch and fan seems to work fine. I replaced coolant also 50/50 mixture, not sure if thats an issue. Automatic transmission thermostat was not replaced which is in bottom of tank. Car was lifted and running idle, I had bottom cover removed to check for leaks also. Story behind issue was Monday night while car was parked it cracked open the expansion tank for coolant.

I may try added a fan in front of car to simulate it running and see if that also helps.

Jorge Serna if your car was over heating and the coolibg fan is not running during the over heating event then I would find out why the fan is not running. 1st easiest test is to unplug the fan and directly power it to see to the fan actually works. If it does work id start checking the easiest stuff. Like fan fuse. If that checks ok id grab a wiring diagram from bbbindustries and start with powers and grounds for the fan circuit.

Joshua Vieira I was going to check that last night but got dark on me. Hopefully the wiring is easy to get to for testing. I will post later to see if that solved the issue. Thanks

Hey guys looking for a little info. So I have a 2002 BMW. While driving one day the engine over heated and blew a hole in the coolant reservoir. I replaced the reservoir and it worked fine for a week. After that it start overheating after being driven for 30-40 mins. I took it to a shop and they said it was a bad water pump. So I went back under the hood and replaced the water pump, ac belt, and serpentine belt. It once again worked fine for a couple days but started to over heat again. I then checked the fan to make sure the clutch was good. Fan clutch seems fine so my next thought is maybe it’s a bad thermostat. Would this be a possible issue? I was always under the impression that most of the time that a thermostat went bad it would lock open, but it seems it isn’t sending coolant from the reservoir. Some other information would be that when it over heats steam sprays from the reservoir cap. It occasionally will send coolant to the engine to cool it off but sometimes fails and overheats. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, also awesome video.

Zachary Wilbur hey just curious what ended up happening to your BMW. I recently bought a 02 325i. The radiator/belts/water pump where replaced by the previous owner before I bought it, now I’m getting a code for the thermostat so I’m replacing it.
