Thank you for the reaction! No Waves Like Home is an interesting one because it's not actually really about Subnautica at all. It's a deeply personal song about finding your place in life and making the most of the circumstances life puts in front of you, even if they were wildly different than what you planned. I spent years not sure what I wanted to do with my life, I wanted to be an animator, an entertainer, a writer, but none of it worked out and I ended up stuck in a job I didn't enjoy. Then I found UA-cam as a career and all those skills I'd learned for those other dreams all helped me flourish here. So the song's message of 'dreaming of space but finally being awake in the waves' sings to that idea, the protagonist planned to spend their life in the stars but ended up under the ocean and found actually, maybe it was where they were meant to be after all, and those skills they thought would help them in space are exactly what they need in their new life under the ocean. So whilst I peppered the song with some humour it's actually a very personal exploration of my own experiences with my own ambitions and life path. It's the sort of thing that most folks wouldn't really pick up on, but listening again with that in mind it should hopefully shine through. Also, Planet Zoo is a direct sequel to Planet Coaster by the same devs. :) Also, nice shirt! ;)
Now that I'm listening for it, I can actually here what you're talking about Stupendium. You turned something very personal to you into a great song, great job.
Wow, that's amazing, thank you for the breakdown, Stupes. I wish I had known that going in, that's my own fault for not researching well enough this week. Excellent song regardless of the knowledge of what it's truly about, tho knowing this makes me appreciate it more. Thanks! 😁

I _love_ the "Doesn't matter how you fall if you land the dive" line, that's helped keep me calm on same really bad days. Thank you so much for making it. I also really liked the message that even if your life is falling to pieces, you can still build something new out of the wreckage.
You Gotta Build a Zoo is such a special song. I love The Stupendium's songs where he plays a megalomaniac or industrial capitalist who has no regards for anyone or anything around him, but the simple and truthful message of conservation is a really nice change of pace.
