Put some damn respect on HR Giger’s name. He is one of the best artist of all time. He designed so much for Alien(1978) including the xenomorph. Giger was the perfect choice for dune concept art.
In fact Gigers art was used for both David Lynch’s Dune and Denis Villeneuve’ dune and dune part 2.
He’s not just that weird gothic German guy, he’s THE gothic German guy.

One thing you guys look over is that jordowosky didn’t really have any sort of good understanding of dune as a universe. I have no doubt that this movie would be awesome, but it would be its own thing rather than an adaptation of dune.
There are a few fundamental elements which be completely misunderstands about the story and the universe.
The themes of the book are completely lost in jordowosky’s dune and the only things remaining are character names, spice and a few larger world building elements.
If jordowosky would just adapt his graphic novel that came from all of his work on dune “the incal” into a series of film that would be fantastic! I have a lot of hope for something like that after the success of dune. But again, that would be “the incal” not “dune”.

Yeah having not read the book this was bound to go over our heads. But the vision he sells for his version sounds incredible. I do get annoyed when adaptions aren’t faithful but then again if filmmakers didn’t do their own thing with adaptions from time to time then we wouldn’t have the likes of The Shining or Starship Troopers
