Just checked this out and it makes sense that we engineer this instead of just drilling holes everywhere until something looks cool 1st then functions well 2nd. Appreciate the tip! I'll be watching and already recommend your channel to my crew.
I recently bought 2 muzzle breaks and did a head to head test with them to see which one was going to replace the obnoxious one on my LRP rifle. The first break was the OSS Banner Charlie ( I realize this break is not the same as in the video but the design is the same.) The other Break will remain nameless but I will say it was $100 more expensive. The OSS Banner Charlie is still on my rifle! Not only does the banner Charlie mitigate recoil Better but it also has much less muzzle blast. I usually shoot alone, (No spotter,) so the OSS Banner Charlie is saving me money by making me able to easily spot my own shots, no more wasted ammo! Very reasonably priced considering it outperformed a break that costs nearly twice as much, simple and solid. This is a Great Product!
I've been running the OSS Bannar Alpha on my rifle for over a year. I have ran this device on my M4 during several courses and have yet to receive a complaint from a fellow student. The muzzle flash is reduced during low light training and muzzle rise is minimal. I was fortunate to pick up my device at a discount price during a training conference but would not hesitate to buy another at full price.
Pretty cool. I'll have to check out their products. I agree about muzzle flash reduction, I was in the Army for 6 years and got out 100% disability and medical retirement. The fact that SF guy did this is great. I think about this kind of stuff a lot, it seems the people that are the most innovative for brakes are the Russians.
3:46 Graham Kill House Rules are the best rules to follow I.e "Kill everything that needs killed". I'm Really enjoying this channel of yours. you have some great wisdom going on. Thank you for that.
This is the first time I have seen them demonstrated. I can't believe they actually work. I think they look kinda cool, and a little goofy at the same time. Damn if they work though. I might have to grab 1. I just wish they could do one with a qd can attachment on it.
Good review. Probably a dumb question, but does this device force the muzzle down at all? I never really cared for the a2 simply because, especially on sbr's, it tends to push the muzzle down a bit. Combined with natural recoil, it makes the gun kind of bounce under rapid fire. Thanks
It slightly does, not as much as most I have tried. It has to, to compensate for the recoil naturally pushing the barrel up.But it has the best side pressure escape I have seen.
Does this walk at all being that the baffles spin if you will? Do you notice a difference in shooting it right hand verses left hand? I am a lefty and have noticed some muzzle devices shoot great for everyone else but I pick them up and I get more drift or "walk" because of certain designs.
Where has this thing been all my life? The cover to cover live fire iteration in basic (11b osut ft benning) was nerve racking because you DIDN'T know the skill level of the people behind you, there was a guy who ND'd right in front of a Drill Sergeant and got send back to barracks immediately. 17 people got chaptered in my platoon alone, only made me finish stronger.
I picked up a Bannar Alpha 1 today, I happened to find one at a range I frequent, they were $20 cheaper than anywhere else I have seen. I am currently running a Precision Armament AFAB Mini, its fine, but I couldnt pass up trying a Banner Alpha.
+Alexander Robins Honestly the performance is very similar. Its hard to say one is better than the other when I am shooting at a range during the day, but I feel a little less blast from the OSS, and the AFAB is a little easier to keep on target during rapid fire, for me. I have tried allot of Comps and Muzzle Brakes, my top pick is still the VG6 Gamma. The Gamma is a great value, it reduces recoil as good or better than anything on the market, and for $80 its hard to beat.
I have this device bc of this video. I’ve had it for about 2 1/2 years now. I’ve never had a suppressor but have been thinking a lot about getting into that game. My question is this, is this device suppressor ready?? Thanks.
Yo I live in bloomsburg Pa, I have a really good place to shoot at we have a hand gun range a rifle range a bunch of steel set up and we can shoot up to a mile in some places. You two should get back to me, we live kinda close to one another and do some shooting
Colin Murnane but isnt the reason for a bolt actions inherent accuracy vs a semi due to the gases not being messed with to cycle the action? My guess would be that messing with the gases (if done unevenly) would cause a turbulant effect. I could be wrong though, just wondering.
Would you ever consider doing a review of an extended A2 flash hider as compared to a standard A2 flash hider ? I'm curious if the extra length adds any flash or compensation value over the standard A2. Thanks. great video. www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-A2X-Extended-A2-Flash-Hider-Suppressor-p/bcm-a2x.htm www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=276
I don't like breaks either... but I don't like the standard A2 flash hider either... been looking at the vg6 and the new SLR but since I'm getting the OSS Helix suppressor I might as well get this as well for my 14.5 barrel... will it make length on a 14.5?

AH MAH GRD HE'S DOWN RANGE!!! That just made me start cracking up.

Berz, you're one of my favorite channels!

MOAR shooting! I like seeing the muzzle brake in action. Liked your vid ;]

I think this is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks Berz
If I didn't already have an EFAB, I'd give this a try. Maybe on my next build. The Grip Stop rocks!
you like the efab?
Thanx for the vida, boys - I picked one up for my 10.5" 5.56, should be in later this week.
Did you ever get it for your 5.56...how did it do for a 10.5 barrel
Have you compared this to the vg6 epsilon or effin a or afab ? I'm in the market for a flash/brake combo.
I actually just installed the AFAB onto a 10.5 sbr and love it
I have a VG6 and noticed significant improvement from other devices, however I have never shot an afab so I guess I cannot compare.
Love that intro music!
I know the military uses a less flash producing round. What are you guys using in your demo?
I am not sure, we test different rounds all the time. Possibly 62gr GT is I remember right. But could have been 55gr Ball.
This is the first time I have seen them demonstrated. I can't believe they actually work.

I would only use a muzzle brake that can mount a suppressor and/or a blast shield or concussion shield. How does the Bannar compare to a blast shield?
The price on this isn't bad, especially when you consider that a Battlecomp blasts fireballs and costs almost $200.
I noticed nate folded the stock on his gun. What kind of upper is he running? Whats the lower set up like?

mmaviator22 I have not
Great videos. I was looking for more info on the comp/hider and found your channel. Just killed a couple hrs on your channel.

What is that heavy ass intro song? I can dig it
Woah! What collapsible stock is that?? web-link?
What do you think of the Bird of Prey brake?
I picked up a Bannar Alpha 1 today, I happened to find one at a range I frequent, they were $20 cheaper than anywhere else I have seen. I am currently running a Precision Armament AFAB Mini, its fine, but I couldnt pass up trying a Banner Alpha.
So, what were your thoughts on the OSS Banner vs the AFAB?
+Alexander Robins Honestly the performance is very similar. Hi ! can we install standard suppressor on this OSS Bannar Alpha1 , or only specific OSS suppressor. ?..
This one is not threaded for suppressor use
Great vid, thanks!!
2Quick4u928 Anytime, thanks for watching!
No darkness test fires? Or did I miss it somehow?
You must have blinked.
I have the LANTAC Dragon, works really well, but has a lot of blast and flash. If I want to hide my signature I would use my Smith Vortex.
Snake Plissken Smith makes a great product too, I agree.
Have you been able to do a flash signature comparison over the birdcage? My biggest concern is the flash
Thanks
It is on par with a birdcage, it does not flash like a straight brake.
+CaptainBerz Thanks! I think I'll give one a try. I'd think anything that comes from OSS is tops.
I have this device bc of this video. I’ve had it for about 2 1/2 years now. I’ve never had a suppressor but have been thinking a lot about getting into that game. My question is this, is this device suppressor ready?? Thanks.
Yes for OSS Suppressors
CaptainBerz awesome thanks. Awesome vids as well. Keep them coming!
is there any specific timing we need to do for this flash hider/muzzle break?
this hybrid model does not need to be timed.
My question is how many night time gun fights are you people getting into that you need a flash hider other than the A2?
Several what about you.
Yo I live in bloomsburg Pa,
I have a really good place to shoot at we have a hand gun range a rifle range a bunch of steel set up and we can shoot up to a mile in some places.
You two should get back to me, we live kinda close to one another and do some shooting
Berz what rail is that on your rifle?
AkSaggsAlot Parallax Tactical 15" M-Lok
Does that "swirling" effect have an impact on accuracy?
Colin Murnane but isnt the reason for a bolt actions inherent accuracy vs a semi due to the gases not being messed with to cycle the action? My guess would be that messing with the gases (if done unevenly) would cause a turbulant effect. I could be wrong though, just wondering.
Orpheus Epiphanes No, as you can see toward the end in rapid fire this baby is not moving. Zero effect.
Will it bring a 14.5" barrel to 16.1"?
yep
Pretty sweet.
Would you ever consider doing a review of an extended A2 flash hider as compared to a standard A2 flash hider ? I'm curious if the extra length adds any flash or compensation value over the standard A2. Thanks. great video.

It is negligible.
Tacticool. SMH
There is NO excuse to be down range ! FAIL ! GO BACK TO AIRSOFT.
Yea, people are not down range in a ccw or home defensive situation at all. 😂
If you cant handle this stress, please sell all your guns.
I don't like breaks either... but I don't like the standard A2 flash hider either... been looking at the vg6 and the new SLR but since I'm getting the OSS Helix suppressor I might as well get this as well for my 14.5 barrel... will it make length on a 14.5?
Yes it is over 2"
